K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGeneral K1 Guides and Info

Hi everybody:

Im going to start to apply for a K1 visa.I think we have all ready but i have a question about what proves we have met.My phone provider can't give me all my calls and SMS record. Please help me how to attach all information because I have the pictures, but how to get a complete call record and what else do I need to prove we met? I have the tickets, hotel bills...I appreciate ur help.Thank u.

Hi Diana,
you have to provide documentary proof of having met in person in the past two years and an ongoing relationship: copies of all airline boarding passes, train passes, itineraries, hotel receipts, chat, emails, passport stamps, color photo's of you and your fiancee together (make sure you write your names, date, and location on the back of every photo)

OMG!!! I sent in our photos but our names were not in the back of the photos, just date and location but i haven't heard anything back from them yet regarding no names on our photos.

The last time they touched my file was back in June when I first sent in my application. Does anyone know how long do we have to wait until we hear something back from the USCIS?

You will likely wait around 5 months for approval.

Question-
For the police report, it says to get it from anywhere I've lived for more than six months. Is it just for outside the states or include the states too? Please help- thank you and wish you all all the best-!!

You don't need one for the USA, the government will do their own background checks.

In general, checks on the petitioner are done state side, most checks on the beneficiary abroad. I doubt they will have looked at the I-134, and may even have discarded it, so be sure to bring an updated one to your interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresGeneral K1 Guides and Info

Hello to everybody.

I am a new here and trying to collect all the information that I need for K1 visa proces.

Does anyone has this "problem" ??

In short notice, my finace (US citizen) and I applied for K1 visa on october 2012.

I allready have tourist visa, which I used to visit him during 3  and a half year of relationship.

We decided that it would take a while to get approval for everything, and since I am a physician in my homeland

I should probably be staying in US trying to pass exams for nostrification of my medical diploma while waiting and

in meantime we hope NOA2 would come.

I applied for my exam at 24th of June 2013. and yesterday we received NOA2 !!!

We were extremely happy, BUT package 3 will probably arrive to my homeland before the date of my exam.

My question to members: how much time do I have to send first documents (forms) and repllies to US embassy?

I do not want to cancel my exam, it costed lot of money, but I wont be able to arrive in my homeland so soon.

I am not sure if embassy will make some problems if I don`t  replly the form immediately.

if anyone knows,  or have experinece it would decrease this hardly  bearable stress crying.gif

thank you all  goofy.gif

When are your exam?  Ie how much of a delay will you need?

Usually, the NOA2 is technically valid 4 months but often, it takes the embassy longer than that to even schedule an interview and they will automatically extend.

Not a problem at all, many people need a few weeks/ a couple of months to gather the documents and such.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 is a confusing form !!!! Help !

Oh I see, it's at the end of the form, under the part "Oath or Affirmation of Sponsor" .Actually it's the paragraph before you sign the form .It has a fillable box

If you mouse over the data entry box for the 'Oath' section, it tells you what it is about and instructs you to enter the sponsor's full name.

Did he apply for a US visitor visa at another US embassy?

Very possible in these days of increased international travel vigilance.

Doubtful. I know if he had travelled to another country it would be a different story. My hubby's visa was delayed because he went to Europe on a tour in the spring of 2001.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForeign beneficiary signature on G-325A still optional?

According to the attached memo, a signature is not required by the foreign beneficiary on the G-325A form.  However, this USCIS memo dates from 2005.  The last mention of it I could find searching the forums is from 2009.

Can anyone confirm whether this rule is still in effect?  I ask because of an error we made in our application triggering an RFE on the form - I would much rather just send in a corrected version immediately rather than waiting about a week to get my fiance to send a version with her actual signature.

You need an original signature on the Letter of Intent from the Beneficiary, so they can send the signed G325A at the same time.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresForeign beneficiary signature on G-325A still optional?

Yes, it is true. You are not required to have a signature on the G-325A for the I-129F petition. You can put 'Beneficiary will sign at interview', and it should be accepted that way.

Ah -- "AOS" stands for Affidavit of Support.  Not sure how hard age might be looked at.  People fill out forms for other people's signatures all the time.  It's crucial that Grandma understands what she's signing when she signs it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAffidavit of support

$2k a month = $24k current annual income. It is enough. You calculate current income by taking how much you earn an hour, times how many hours you work a week. Then multiply the weekly amount by 52 weeks to get the annual amount. It is not based on what you made so far this year.

A 221g is not something filled out by you before having an initial K-1 visa interview. http://travel.state....gibilities.html

Did you already have an interview and were given a 221g at that time? Did they need additional documentation to be submitted before they will give you another interview?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures34A How We Met Mistake

I would not worry too much about that minor mistake. If you really want to send something in, then you should wait for your NOA1 receipt notice. Send your explanation about the mistake you made along with a copy of your receipt notice to the service center that is processing your petition. Do not send anything extra to the lockbox intake mail facility.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI130 to k1 question

They are two completely different visa paths.

The US citizen would need to petition for a K1 fiance visa as normal.

Penguin_ieFemaleIreland2014-10-17 07:56:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI130 to k1 question

The I-130 is used for a spousal visa. If they get married first, then the USC spouse files an I-130 for them. If they are not yet married, then they can go for a fiance(e) visa to use to enter the US and marry in the US within 90 days of entry. You start that process for a K-1 with an I-129F petition. It is not the same process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUrgent: DS-160 and misplaced social security card/number

What exactly is the question on DS-160? If you can't remember your SSN, mark can't remember SSN and move on. You can explain at the interview though I doubt you'd be asked about that.

milimeloFemaleBosnia-Herzegovina2014-10-18 06:46:00
K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresUrgent: DS-160 and misplaced social security card/number

I don't have the option to say I can't remember. I wish I did. I can only put my Social Security Number or check "Does Not Apply". But since I have one but just can't remember it, "does not apply" would be lying.

put all 9s or 0s or 1s? Then explain you have one but can't remember what it is at the interview.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancé K1 visa for 17years old Fiancé-US Embassy Islamabad

Hello everyone,

I search to find the answer for my query but haven't got a perfect and correct answer yet, I request VJ members to help me  get  the right answer.

My fiancé is 17 years old in Pakistan and i'm going to file for her K1 visa petition BUT before doing that I want to make sure i'm on the right path and just dont want to waste the time. Is she going to be eligible for the K1 visa if she is not yet 18 years. I live in California and in order to get married in CA the person who is under 18 years must have a written consent from one of the parents or the legal guardian , so that is fine with us as we will be getting married in california , but I just want to know if her age is going to be a problem in getting approved for K1 fiancé visa in US embassy Islamabad. Also what is the difference of time period in approval for K1 and CR1.

Thanks and Waiting,

Regards-

Raaza

Check with the state you'll be living in.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFiancé K1 visa for 17years old Fiancé-US Embassy Islamabad

I met my fiancé back in year 2012 and we get engaged soon after, she will be turning 18 on november2015. To answer the question about California law for minors to get married is to have a written consent from one of the parents or a legal guardian . The only thing is her age relevancy to her K1 eligibility, which I'm still not getting a clear answer. I'm sure there be a lot of VJs came across through same situation, hope that VJ heard me n solve this mystery.

BTW , I'm the petitioner and I'm legally eligible to file for her K1 petition, she is the beneficiary.

You have two issues to clear up...on your own..

One what is the minimum age to marry in the state you intend to get married in.

Two what is the minimum age that the Embassy will allow a K-1 to be issued to.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresso is it required to fill the aos form again for my daughter's son?

hi

of course, you need to prove to the government that each person that you file for won't become a public charge

you should have sent them together. you daughter's and grandchild since he is a derivative on your daughter's petition

you pay only once per family, but the forms and documents, taxes and rest are per person
