United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

He was asked for them as part of the relationship chat - also, Steven said he was given the impression the guy wasn't happy that he didn't have more. Who knows? Every interviewer probably has their own thing.

Congrats on getting approved!! I was also there today, we must have passed each other :)

Oddly enough I had a totally different experience. I too took absolutely everything I could think of (plus copies) but no one wanted to look at mine. I did offer extra pictures, phone logs, etc., but I got asked literally two questions (how did you meet, do you have any wedding plans) before the guy I saw told me I was approved and that was that. I thought I would get grilled a bit more since I've known John for nearly twelve years but I guess it comes down to the person who interviews you? I saw a fairly  youngish chap with dark hair and a bit of a beard.

They did say it was definitely best to be over prepared though, so I think that's good advice to take on the day! If anything, it will stop you worrying that you've forgotten something!

On another note, it was bloody cold waiting in the security line this morning! My feet nearly froze off!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

It's kind of selfish of me but I'm getting pretty bummed out seeing people get their interview dates so quickly. While I am happy for those of you getting your interview dates set so quickly (1 day!?) after your medical I cant help but feel it is unfair to people like me who have been waiting since the end of September and still don't have an interview date.

I recieved my NOA2 on 26/09, sent documents on 27/09 and had medical on 28/09. My CEAC status was updated on 2/10 and DOS have confirmed that my documents were received & processed that day. The CEAC status was updated again on 23/10 but no one can tell me why. I called the DOS again today and they confirmed no interview has been scheduled yet. I'm slightly concerned because my USCIS decision expires on 25/11 and I don't really know what happens if I don't have an interview before that.

So very tired of waiting now. Hopefully something happens soon...

This is definitely the worst part of it. I totally feel you on how awful it is waiting - I found it exhausting, stressful and draining. But it will happen!

Have you tried contacting the embassy via their contact form on the embassy website? I found calling the DOS only did so much because they don't actually schedule the interviews. Maybe e-mail them expressing your concern that its taking so long? When I wrote to them I said I was worried because I wanted to be with my fiance for Christmas, I had an interview date a few days later.

Best of luck!!!!!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

thank you ladie of the bees - I will wait a few weeks and send an email too. my case has been saying ready for interview on ceac for about a month but we were delayed by the medical. congratulations on your interview date!

Just as a note on that - when I emailed the consulate they said I should expect my interview date from when they logged my forms, not from when I had the medical (which was a week after). So it might be worth trying an initial email via the contact form on the embassy website just to "confirm" politely that they have everything in hand?

Congratulations great news!!! I have already emailed them via contact form a week ago but no reply. Do you think sending them another email is a good idea?

It says on the website that if your query is answered on the website you wont get a reply. I tried phrasing  my initial inquiry as a "checking all the paperwork is in order" - don't know if that approach was responsible for them getting back to me as quickly as they did, but anything is worth a try!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

hi everyone,

now finally in the queue too! hoping we are given an interview before Christmas! did I read correctly that you can sign up for email notifications? I am not sure if I have done this and reading some of your experiences regarding letters not been sent out to late in the day, this sounds like a good idea smile.png

There isn't an email notification system you can sign up for (as far as I'm aware) but once my paperwork had been with the embassy for a few weeks I started e-mailing them via the contact form on the website to make sure they'd got the forms etc. I e-mailed them last week this way saying that I was worried about getting to the US for Christmas, and today they responded to it saying my appointment had been issued and the letter sent out today. Not sure if they did this because I've only got a ten day window though!

Hope you get your interview sooonn!!!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

I feel your pain....I am waiting for the interview date for my spouse...We are F2A and our request to expedite the visa interview was accepted by the US embassy London so they will arrange the interview date instead of NVC. CEAC visa status check is showing ready since 30th Oct but still no visa interview date.

And at 6PM I get an email from the visa info unit at the consulate that my interview is NEXT THURSDAY.

When it doesn't rain it pours?

Try e-mailing them via the contact form on the embassy website, that's what I've been doing. SEEMS to have worked...

Good luck!!!!!!

Another weekend of waiting... another Monday that brings no news. Anyone else feel like they're going INSANE with this waiting? They've had all our forms for over a month now. Can't concentrate on anything else!!!

United KingdomWho is waiting for an interview date?

Having one of those days where I'm sitting and waiting for my interview letter to magically appear and its driving me INSANE. Sometimes feels like I'm waiting for my letter to Hogwarts or the golden ticket in the chocolate bar! Argh!

Consulate e-mailed me last week to say I should expect it "within four weeks" of my forms being logged which was October 2nd. That's tomorrow... really, really hope it appears tomorrow, would be awesome as it is my other half's birthday tomorrow! Come on embassy... give us some good news as yet another year goes by where I send him yet ANOTHER amazon gift certificate and e-card for his birthday. Please!!!

Anyone else feel like they are slowly losing it waiting for this step??

What number is everyone calling to check with DOS? I have a list of various numbers but no idea which is right!!

Also I emailed the consulate this week to make sure they had everything .... they said I should expect my interview to be scheduled within 4 weeks of them receiving my forms (October 2nd), seems a bit at odd with what everyone else has been told and what their website says ... do you think I got some overly optimistic person?

United KingdomCEAC - Post interview question

That's exciting! I'm trying to not be obsessive about it. biggrin.png He has quite a few family members coming from Wales for the wedding so I have lots and lots of distraction due to that planning. We're looking at renting a large home for a week so everyone can be together. My kids are used to Steven's accent, but I think the younger ones are going to be a smidge baffled by his sister's accent/slang! Everything else feels very relaxed compared to getting up to this part of getting Visa in hand.

Steven is hoping to travel on the 12th of Dec. Though we did joke that fares might be cheaper on the Friday due to being the 13th. smile.png We figure if he gets here on a Thursday he'll have a quiet Friday to recoup while kiddos are in school. Though it's gonna be a challenge to get them to go.

I'm the last person to tell you not to obsess!

Got home today to a big fat envelope containing my passport, new visa and super secret envelope to give to immigration control :D !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So seems like it takes two-threeish days after it changed to "Issued".

I'm due to fly out Friday the 13th! Flights not cheaper sadly :( However I'm determined not to be superstitious as my Dad was born on Friday the 13th, and it was the only date I could get connecting flights that worked to our timetable (no direct international flights to Nashville mad.gif).

Good luck planning the wedding!

United KingdomCEAC - Post interview question

Will the CEAC update change to AP and then Issued.. or does it generally go from Ready to Issued? I'd rather not call DoS so I'm just clicking CEAC randomly. smile.png  It's a week past his interview date and I'm not expecting much yet.

Thanks!

Bridget

Hello!

I had my interview the same day in London :)

I have been checking (obsessively) on CEAC since then.

On November 15th my status was still "Ready" but it had changed the Case Creation date to November 15th too. The message said to that I was ready for my interview, but if I had already had my interivew, I should check back on CEAC in two working days.

On November 18th (Monday) it had changed to "Issued" (exciting!)

I don't know if this is the same for everyone though. The whole system seems to be a little random.

Hope this helps,

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDisclosure on Medical interview/questionaire

Hey guys,

I've read a couple of threads on this on the VJ website, but I thought I'd put the question out there.

In terms of disclosing your medical history on the questionnaire, I'm not sure what to do about the question asking if you ever suffered from depression. I did get a lot of counselling with I was at Uni in the States/when I moved back to the UK. The doctor DID prescribe me anti-depresessents but it turned out that mostly my problem was to do with anxiety (I was experiencing frequent panic attacks).

This is all a few years ago now (I'm going back to 2009/2010 time here). Is this something I need to disclose on the medical interview questionnaire? Is it something they'd even really be able to check? I never went through my GP, just used university counselling services to try and get through some stressful times.

Thanks for any input!

Cheers,

-Rhi

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2013 K-1 Visa Filers

Good luck getting anything useful out of the NVC... I spent thirteen minutes on hold on Monday to talk to someone who had no idea if my case was even there (despite the fact that I had a case number) only to see my status change yesterday on the ceac tracker to "In Transit" to consulate.

Not the kind of stressful call you need!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsJuly 2013 K-1 Visa Filers

Rhi,

Use this thred to find out when you documents are received at the embassy.

Call NVC to find out when they were sent out, they will tell you.

Then go to this thread to get the DHL tracking number: http://www.visajourn...embassy/page-87

DO NOT book your medical at this time until you are sure the docuements are in  route to embassy.

Remember, your K1 visa is valid for 6 months from the medical NOT the interview date. If you get stuck at the NVC or the documents go back to the service center, you could seriously shorten the time you have to wrap things up overseas.

Thanks for the advice! Although I have heard that there is a wait time on getting appointments for London for the medical, which is why we wanted to make sure that got booked ASAP :)

10/28/13  is our interview date. (10/21/13 was an available date as well...that would have put my NOA1 to interview date at 102 days ---- WOW!!!)

I mailed my I-129F petition on July 05, 2013.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to all who have answered my questions and provided insightful information and guidance during this process.

I sincerely believe that without this site, this process would have been more difficult.

The information within this site is invaluable. I am simply amazed there is not somewhere to make a donation to web site support. I would gladly do so in a moment.

This site has saved me thousands in expenses as well as time.

I will tell you this.......I put in over 200 hours of research before I had my final I-129F pouch ready to go out the door. I cannot stress this enough.

RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH.

If you do this, you will save alot of headaches down the line.

For those of you who are still waiting and have been waiting forever, please beleive me when I tell you that during my day, I do say a prayer for all of you that any issues that are there are handled quickly.

Thank you to everyone who helped me.

Wow, great to see it moving along so quickly for you :) Congratulations on getting an interview date already!!

Very encouraging for me also since my timeline looks like its only a few days behind yours! NVC got our petition on September 5th, going to try and book the  medical today since we got or case number yesterday from the DOS...

Also you are very correct, put the effort into the I-129F and do the research, use the wonderful resource that is Visajourney. I think the petition is probably the biggest hurdle, as there are so many things to take into account and they seem to hand out RFEs for such little things.

Hope everything goes as well for you moving forward, keep us updated :)

Ah ok, It's been over 2 weeks so I thought it would have at least been sent off. I didn't know whether I would get another status update or not!

To be honest from everything I'd read on VJ I didn't expect to get an e-mail notification about this, so I don't know if this is standard or not. Hopefully some of the others on this thread with NOA2s can chime in and say whether or not they got a similar message. If it's been a couple of weeks though, perhaps trying calling USCIS and the DOS to see if either side can tell you what the status is?

Good news people, seems like a lot of cases are being looked at now! I was just wondering... I had my approval notification back on the 22nd of August and I haven't heard anything else, no notification of my case being sent off. Although it does say on the notification... Post decision activity may include sending notification of the approved case to the nvc or dos. Should I still be getting another notification before it gets sent off?? Thanks!!

I got an email alert two days after the approval message saying our case had been shipped to NVC and that for any other queries I should contact the Department of State. I don't know whether this is normal or not though!

Okay, let me be the first to state:

08/27/2013 7:15 a/m CST Email Received / USCIS / On August 27, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing.

09/05/13 : Case received at DOS and MNL Number issued.

whoop!!!!!!!!

The gentelman I conversed with at DOS was very nice about the conversation. I asked when he received the case and when the MNL number was issued. He replied "Sept. 5", then we both realized at the same time " THAT'S TODAY"

That's brilliant :) One less stress to worry about and hopefully it will be with the consulate soon :)

What number did you call to speak to someone? I was going to get John to start chasing this on Monday but I've been told so many things!

Congrats again :)

Just wondering if anyone from July who has had NOA2 knows if the NVC has got their petition yet? We got the approval message last week (26/9) and a message two days later (28/9) saying it had been shipped to NVC. Wondered if anyone with approvals earlier in July had confirmation that it was received yet, trying to gauge how long the next parts of this are taking...

Congrats to everyone else who has had NOA2 so far! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else on the thread :)

If so then a lot of people are being affected by this ... quite a few July people have been approved, especially from CSC. I'm sure I also read something about how july VSC petitions were automatically going to TSC because they were trying to clear out backlogs or similar... but who knows anything for definite with this stuff!

Hello everyone! Haven't posted much so far although have been reading lots of threads and forums for months for all the lovely support and information people provided. Thought I'd have much more time to spend doing so to be honest, but even though we only filed in July, I got an e-mail last night saying that our petition had been approved! 42 days in! In a bit of shock right now (along with everyone else on this thread who got quick approvals). Had planned on it taking at least five-six months! Like a lot of people on here I filed mid-July (NOA1 date of July 15th) and it was transferred from VSC to TSC on August 6th. My petition wasn't anything special either.... still can't believe this, got the email at 245AM UK time, not even sure why I woke up!!!!! My fiance is ecstatic but shocked!! So happy but so incredibly unprepared :)

Good luck to everyone else!!!!! Sure we'll all see a lot more approvals in the next few weeks!!!!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsI-129F Checklist & Submission

Hello!

Me and my fiance also filed the I-129F in July while I was visiting him there - been obsessing about it ever since! I think its a really good idea to break down what you put in your pack for other people. Deciphering what was supposed to go in the damn thing and in which order was like trying to learn some ancient and mystical art only ever heard of in legend. It's interesting to see how someone else has done their's in so much detail!

Here's how we did ours (assembled with double hole punch at top, acco fastenings, tabs along bottom):

*G1145+Cashier's Check clipped to front

*Cover Letter/Contents

Part One: Forms

*I-129F

*I-129F Continuation

*G325A+Photo (Petitioner)

*G325A+Photo (Beneficiary)

*Birth Certificate (Petitioner)

*Letter of Intent (Petitioner)

*Letter of Intent (Beneficiary)

*Evidence Contents

Part Two: Evidence -Travel

*Airline Boarding Passes

*Plane Tickets

*Passport Stamps

Part Three: Evidence - Contact

*Colour Photographs x9

*Cellphone Phonebills (Petitioner)

*Landline Phonebill (Beneficiary)

*Mobile Phonebill (Petitioner)

Part Four: Evidence - Misc

*Credit Card Bills

*Electronic gift cards

*Electronic greeting cards

*Engagement cards from friends

Looking at the list I'm starting to obsess that we didn't put enough evidence in there... that's the problem with this long wait, it gives us too long to worry about if its been done wrong!

Here is a link that should (hopefully) show you a picture of what our copies looked like. We also made three :)

Thanks for sharing yours!!

Hello all!

This is probably a stupid question covered in loads of places so forgive me if its been answered elsewhere...

My fiance called the DOS today and got our case number (beginning with LND), but I'm not quite sure what we're supposed to do with it, how we check it, or what this means in terms of progress.

All help greatly appreciated :)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow Essential is Employer Letter?

He's ordered transcripts but we're not sure they'll do much good. He was out of work for a lot of 2012, started his current job in December 2012, so he's been earning more than enough for the affidavit of support. That's one of the reasons we waited till this year to apply for the visa.

Starting to worry now!! Do you think we'll need a co-sponsor??

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHow Essential is Employer Letter?

Quick question,

My finance is trying to get his documents together but he's having a hard time pinning his boss down to get a letter of employment. She moves between a lot of different offices and hasn't responded to any of his emails. He does have all his pay stubs and is working on getting a letter from his bank (which is an online only bank unfortunately!) for proof of money paid in over the last year. Is the letter from employer going to be crucial or has anyone been able to get by without it?

Thanks!
