IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresShould I be concerned?

Was your petition sent to Overland Park, Kansas or Lee Summit, Missouri? Cuz since May all I-130 have been held up at Overland Park it just opend September 28th so hopefully they will get through that logjam.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresShould I be concerned?

I filed the I-130 petition back in May 2013 for my husband so that he can apply for the CR-1 Visa.  I sign into the USCIS site from time to time and a few days ago it still stated that they received the petition on May 16, 2013 etc etc. That update was posted on May 20th and it has never changed.  Today I tried to sign into the site again and I got this message:

Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

  • Your account has been locked for one of the following reasons:
    (1) Account inactivity.
    (2) Too many unsuccessful login attempts.

Could there be a glitch in the system or should I be concerned? The username and password are stored on the computer, so I know I'm not entering it wrong and I only tried once when I got the message.  Has this ever happened to anyone? Also do you know of any May filers that have received the NOA2 yet?  Thanks for any input.

I also filed this petition in May 2013. I received my NOA on May 9th, 2013 and that's about it. I'm getting anxious because I miss my hubby so much. Good Luck to you

US Embassy and Consulate Discussion4+ months waiting for interview appointment cairo embassy

Hi, you did not mention if you had an attorney  representing you or not- if not, find a compassionate and caring attorney who is responisive when ever you have questions and who will make sure your case does not fall through the cracks- all too frequently, a case gets "lost", I also suggest you establish  communications with your congressman or senator regarding your case- they are helpful in  seeing that cases are not otherwise rediculously delayed, and keep alloo of yoru correspondence and emails, maintain records and a paper trail so to speak.

i also strted submitting viseos on CNN ireports tracking what was happening with my husband's visa case.

i hope this helps. God Bless You!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsHusband has appointment to sign DS260 and swear oath at Embassy in Cairo, now what?

Hi Everyone, I am reaching out to those of us who have a loved one in Egypt, if you see this post please share it, I am new and just getting to know how to use the site, so please help me out-

My husband was phoned by the American embassy in Cairo, and has an appointment January 9 to sign the part two of the DS260 form in front of a CO and then swear the oath, we received emails in the past weeks from the embassy saying they wanted him to electronically submit the DS260 form on line, and submit all of the required documents ( new police report, medical exam, current affidavit of support, and his civil documents for his  birth, our marriage, his divorce, etc.) and all of this was done and processed, the emails also said he was approved and they wanted us to  complete everything so they could process it to completion....

WE do have an attorney, and she tells me  she is not sure what they need to do other than  give him the visa, but once he is asked to  swear the oath, we are just waiting for the visa appointment, right?  My husband has not been asked yet to send in his passport via DHL, we wonder if maybe they will  ask him to do so at the time of the appointment on January 9.

Any input would be greatly appreciated,  thanks, so much in advance for your replies.

Corrine

Middle East and North Africanext step: case sent to embassy in Cairo, now what?

u have to furnish very strong evidence and couples that have met online are very closely scrutinized- they have the highest rejection- visas are processed faster for married spouses of american citizens. there is an extremely high fraud rate for those apllying for visas from egypt so they are extremely tough on the benificiaries, it takes years now

Middle East and North Africanext step: case sent to embassy in Cairo, now what?

I seek any information I can obtain as to what to expect next regarding  my husband's case-  I applied for an immigrant visa for my husband, this past summer we received a notice of intent to revoke but submitted many letters/evidence to support our case and the case was reaffirmed and forwarded to the national visa center in october 2013 for administrative processing before it will be (or has been) sent back to the American Embassy in Cairo- The latest news I have is our packet of information was received November 8, 2013 at the NVC, so now we await word from Cairo as to when his visa interview will be scheduled. We are very nervous and don't know what to expect. So far our experiences have been less than pleasant, we began the process in March 2010. Any help or information is greatly appreciated, I wish  for contact with  people whom I can refer to my husband so he has someone to talk to about what to expect, any one knowledgeable about what to expect who may be able to  chat with my husband in Egypt, please respond to this post, I can forward the info to my husband. Thanks,

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751, Supporting Documents

My 2 year Conditional Green Card expired on June 2103

Around Feb 2103 I sent my I-751 form with supporting documents with no  common bank account, no  common utility bill since both me and my wife never had a joint bank account together, she is owner of the house that where we live together. He has kids from the previous marriage. I would write checks to her every month for the monthly expenses.

So after on July 2103 I received Request for evidence from USCIS requesting for more evidence. Since me and wife were abroad on our trip.  So on Sept I sent the documents like

copy of the Medical insurance on which my wife is included.

Letters from 2 persons.

copies of the bank checks that I payed my wife for the home expenses.

photos of US

Tickets of our foreign trip

A letter from the school that certifies that I am the contact person for my wife's child that was from the previous marriage.

The USCIS wanted proof that we share finances or proof like rent, mortgage bill on both our names. But the house is owned by my wife which she purchased long before our marriage. Also my wife she manages the finances. So all I used to do was write her checks every month for the expenses that I shared with her.

Unfortunately this year we did not do our taxes together.

We do not have our own children yet. We have been trying a lot to have children like treatments and so on. I have submitted that document to USCIS too.

1. The question is how much more time for me to get a reply from USCIS. Note I sent the request for evidence reply end of September 2013.?

2. Are the documents enough for the USCIS to come to a decision.?

3. If for an I-751 application the processing time is 6 months. Then since it more than 6 months as I applied in March will USCIS proceed with my case faster?

4. what are my chances of being called for an in person interview with my wife.?

5. why does the USCIS not update the case on there website.

6. is there a website where they have stats for I-751 cases, like number of application received, number of request for evidence notices issues, approved, denied, and so on?
