SusieK messaged me and said you got some kind of slip.. sorry, I don't know much about that though.. I'm just starting to do research about everything after the NVC? so what happened to your case? Are you still able to have an interview? wacko.gif

you should go visit her then.. laughing.gif We believe we will be together soon, and that allows me to fight with the government.. we barely just got approved now and hopefully we will be together soon.. 500+ days with not even an approval is a big hurdle to overcome.. so if there are problems later on we encounter, we will just think how hard it was to just be together and not argue with each other.. good.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHarsh Wording - Please don't move
wow, 10 weeks.. did they tell you that long for the admin review? haha, just saw it on your first post.. well, I said "they can go to hell" for that.. just like today, I called the NVC and they received my case (10/1/2008) and entered into the system.. I was asking for the IITN to pay for the stuff online, but the operator told me to wait 4-6 weeks when my lawyer will receive it.. but I'm going to call back the day after tomorrow =) nothing they say makes sense now.. just give me the IITN number and I won't be calling anymore, how hard is that?.. well, maybe they have to get up and out of their chair to go get it??.. whoa, that's real hard to do.. the operator even said they received it and it was entered 9/30/2008..

oh no crying.gif crying.gif is that infamous "administrative processing" that a lot of people go through? I hope our case is not going to go through that hell again.. sorry I don't have any info on admin processing contacts, but you can use this list if you want.. sorry to see you are still stuck and can't get through yet..

unfortunately I'm going through with the lawyer.. wacko.gif but hopefully it would be much better if there are problems.. after that 1st hill of problems (trying to get approved), I'm not taking any more chances.. I don't want another 1 1/2 year delay in NVC too.. crying.gif I don't trust them anymore.. and it seems the lawyer gets the job done (at least got us approved), so she deserves some credit.. much better than USCIS did..

reason I ask is that my lawyer took their sweet time in receiving the bill (said the bill was mailed out 10/7, case was received 9/30) and that they just received the bill yesterday (10/21)... does it really take that long now? my dates are much longer than what I see from other people..

Hi, Can anyone give me an estimated time (average) from NVC to Guangzhou Consulate? I know that Guangzhou has more "delay" than others in receiving cases.. from my research I saw that about 4 months time? Thanks.. We are currently going with the I-130 now.. I'm guessing the I-130 also takes longer at NVC than the I-129F?

thank you applebee for the info.. appreciate it very much.. so it seems about what I thought as 4 months total from NVC receive to Interview.. (of course, I know each person is different)... oh, how come you don't have an interview date set yet? usually from what I see about 1-2 months after the "CASE COMPLETED"..

thanks payxibka and ninjarocket! well, guess I'm going the slow way this time because of me.. whistling.gif well, hopefully it shouldn't take that much longer than the shortcuts.. hopefully just 1 or 2 months more.. wow, 3 months just for Guangzhou to receive it.. you would think they would allow some kind of expedited shipping or something... in a way taking longer is good for me too.. My wedding anniversary is end of March and if by next year, it will be two years and hopefully we can get the IR1 instead.. that would be a good trade-off I suppose..

ok, that's what I needed to confirm.. thanks star_smile.gif but haha, you never did answer my original question.. how long does it take usually from NVC to Consulate? I know that some move way faster than others (and it seems I have one of the slower ones - Guangzhou)..

well, I had gotten the lawyer to do my writ of mandamus originally.. and they got it approved.. so I guess I relied on them too much.. well, what would you have done if you waited over 500 days just to get an approval? and all the government workers giving you different answers everyday.. my case got transferred to the local office too and I had a local office interview for my I-130..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 , 2 out of 3 years
yeah, that's what I was going to do.. I'm going to send in the 3 years data and send in a letter explaining why I didn't earn enough 2005 (going to school, have school records to prove it and will send that too).. hopefully, when the interview comes, I should also have the 2008 W2 data.. what would I need for the interview? Currently, I have transcripts from IRS for 2005,2006,2007.

Is it either "tax transcripts" or "1040 + W2"? or can just the 2008 W2 be enough for the interview?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-864 , 2 out of 3 years
Hello,

I have a question regarding the I-864. For the last 3 years (2005,2006,2007) tax returns, I have met the poverty "requirements" for 2006 and 2007 only. In 2005, I barely started working and didn't make as much money. Should I wait for my 2008 W2 instead? That way I will have 2006,2007,2008 data and all the requirements would be met. Are there high chances that the visa would be denied because of this? Would it be better to just get a co-sponsor? Also, during that time I was studying at school (getting a masters degree).

Thanks good.gif

yes, you are right.. we are doing the same now, after such a long time.. good.gif

K visas get sent automatically to Consulate (our I-129F approval did that, but lawyer told us to ignore the packet 3 coming from that)..

IR-1/CR1 (I-130) visas go to NVC and they send you the Packet 3.. then everything gets sent to consulate for Packet 4..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHow long for case complete?
whew.. I didn't want to believe the other post you were writing just today about 2-6 months at NVC.. someone else was asking you a NVC question too.. well, since I'm going with a lawyer (because of fear of more problems, as you can tell), we will be going more slowly than others.. but this part is out of their slow hands, so it should be faster.. I sent the DS-230 and I-864 both in at the same time.. is that ok? I had to get another police certificate (my wife's will expire in Feb 2009, and that was assuming we get approved a long time ago), so I had to wait about a week extra for that too.. so hopefully it should go faster now.. good.gif

Hi guys.. how long does it take to get "Case Complete" (on average) after I send in Packet 3? Our lawyer is slow, so we had to send it in yesterday.. I'm guessing probably 2-3 weeks.. so hopefully somewhere before Christmas.. that is not the best Christmas gift I want.. but good enough =) at least it was better than last year.. wacko.gif am I right on the estimate? IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat kind of RFEs?
Hi Mrs.Rowe, yeah.. I called them, but the NVC operator wouldn't give me any info.. she said something related to the NVC "State" website, and that the link will be in the letter.. but I already know where to find it and really can't tell.. she just told me to wait for the letter.. I know that we won't make it together this Christmas.. crying.gif I never went to visit her during Christmas time, so we haven't been together for 4 Christmases now.. =( so I'm always bummed around the holidays..

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureswhat kind of RFEs?
Hi guys,

what kind of RFEs have you received? I just called the automated service, and they said "they sent out a RFE for missing information/documents on 12/9/2008".. then I called using the operator service and told them that.. They said it had something to do with the DS-230 (Guangzhou, and it was her side of it).. I wrote an angry remark against my lawyer asking why they messed up my forms and got a RFE.. I didn't pay them to do that.. My lawyer knows I can do it myself too.. I am going to call them this morning to fix it.. mad.gif

I don't like Christmas anymore.. a song or anything related reminds me why we are still not together.. mad.gif We haven't spent one Christmas together either for so long.. The only thing we got together was for my birthday last year.. that was really the best birthday I had.. To celebrate Christmas, I bought another Santa hat (I gave her mine last time), and we will clap our hands and I will sing to her through the webcam.. something along the lines of Josh Groban "I'll be home for Christmas".. =)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresOK to send DS-230 while I-864 still pending(RFE)?
I sent in my last 3 years (2005,2006,2007) transcripts from IRS - also kept in hand the W2s from 2007 and (2008 soon).. I also kept a lot of the pay stubs I have done since two years ago.. so they shouldn't have any reason to see why I can't support my wife.. two years is a good thing to show them that it is not just a new job and you actually have been working.. (at a constant or increasing salary, of course)..
