USCIS Service CentersTransferred file from vsc to Texas got touched today!!!!!!

Hi everybody! I have tried to read all forum discussions to try to figure out what is going on...

Im in the same situation that all of you guys.  When we've got the letter a couple days ago I went crazy thinking that that was just something with our case but it really helped to see that we are not alone in this.

I don't know if you guys already spoke about that but I see that theres november cases getting approved or sending RFES right now and they still in vermont so I guess from december fillers we got sent to Texas Service Center.

Im not really an expert in visa journey and Idk if that would be possible but we would need to make a list of all of all of us that are in the same situation so we can follow each other's cases and see when something is finally moving.

Im a december 10th filler so I guess I should be hearing something soon or Im gonna go crazy!!!! I need to plan my wedding!!! and is not easy when you

have to tell family members with enough advance time so they can set their work holidays!

Could anybody please let me know if they have some lately news on this?

Any light at the end of the tunnel?

Any advice on what can I do?

I've read about this service request... What is it for?

Any other december filers from Spain?

Thank you everybody for your help and mental support!!!!

GOOD LUCK FOR EVERYBODY

Hey, so you put in your case number and make sure that above says "immigrant visa" link: https://ceac.state.g...er/Status.aspx?
It works from the beginning. When they haven't sent it yet it says "at NVC" and when they sent it it says "in transit". I got my case number friday and it was "at NVC" till monday and monday it changed to "in transit". Since they use DHL express it doesn't take long to get to the embassy BUT maybe it's different from embassy to embassy.

Hi!!!

Omg! Thank u so much... I was putting in non immigrant visas... LOL

Well it says in transit so idk why she said they were going to send it in aprox 2 weeks... But oh well... At this point im tired of conplaining! Lol

Hoping everybody the best of luck!

Thank u so much!!!!!!!

Hey Angelina or If anybody can help me! I need a lil bit of light in here! Lol

Just got my case number on monday when randomly an without having any expectation i called NVC.
they said that same day my case got there (or something like that) And that my case number is.... Blablabla.

Then they told me that in aprox 2 weeks (i hope is less) they will send itto the embassy.
Do u guys know how much it takes from getting number to arrive to embassy?
And also that link where you can check ur case status it doesnt recognize my case number... When is the tracking consulate link starrs to be worthy? Onces they send it to embassy? Cause if its that i might need to wait since they told me they havent sent it yet...

Ahhh!!!! So over this process

So i just called nvc and they told me that right now what they are being told to say is tha due to some transfers from service centera is a delay that can take up to 8 weeks...

It was crazy cause she said, r u sure u got approved cause i dont see ur case here.... And i was like yeah... And then ahe told me to read her the firstwords ofthe hard copy ad then she was like oh ok...

So basicly bs! I asked her if it is up to 8 weeks or if it is going to take 8 weeks... I said: it can get sent to you guys with less time than that right???? And Told me she cant guarantee that... That that wss what they rold her to say.

But she did say UP TO 8 weeks...

Anyway idk... I didnt ontact no senator of congressman for the noa2 but i guess if it takes more than next week ill have to say something...

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresYes, you can visit!
As simple as this: YOU CAN VISIT!!!

I was so scared when I got over there but It was easier than ever!
I visited a couple times before starting with the visa process and I felt this time was the easier!!!
My advice to everybody from Spain or somewhere from europe is try to avoid NY or Philly airports...I went form Barcelona to London and from London straight to Orlando (wich was my last destination).
I did that because I didn't want to miss my connection flight if they start asking too much...
Another advice: don't give free information to the officeer... My earlier visits to the US I was explaining my whole love history to the officer and my now fiancee was like: why do you do that??? So just answer Yes or No...and if they what's the porpuse of your visit, just say Hollidays or vacation...
Actually my officer (a hispanic lady) answer the question for me cause she was like: do you come to visit some friends?? And I was like: yes!!! (thinking to myself that she made it so easy for me) LOL.
So don't be affraid...bring with you if you feel better a letter from your job (if you are working) that says that you need to be back...and that's it. Maybe it was luck but i didn't have no problem.
For whoever wants to know it...i went there while we were waiting for or NOA2 (still waiting now) and they can't see nothing in their computer screen about visa...so don't worry
Also i have a friend of mine that visited when she had already her NOA2 and she didn't have any problem either.
Actually Im planning on visiting again hopefully when we get our NOA2... so...

Idk, just keep in mind that there's NOWHERE where it says that we are not allowed to visit, and stay calm!!!

Good luck to everybody!!!!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresThe RFE Master List
Ho everybody!
I would like to know, in case of receiving an RFE, how much tine it should take from when they send it untill they give uou an answer saying that what you sent in enough.
For example: i think i sent the wrong passport pictures (as far as size) so i think I will get an RFE.
How much time would the RFE delay our approval if i sent them the pics right away?

Thanks

USCIS Service CentersNVC hasn't received our petition yet. It's been 8 weeks

I've contacted the USCIS about mine (6 weeks and counting). They told me that there's a 90 day window, and unless it is past 90 days, they won't do anything to investigate because they don't consider it an issue yet.

USCIS Service CentersHELP!!! I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE! 5 MONTHS SINCE NOA2 AND NOTHING!!!!

Update: My Fiancee called USCIS again today. They told her that a letter was mailed to her yesterday saying the case has been mailed to the NVC, which, as far as the rep knew, meant it had been found and sent, and to contact them again if it's not there by Feb 10th.

Hopefully that's true, and we're only a few days away from a case #. Fingers crossed.

USCIS Service CentersHELP!!! I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE! 5 MONTHS SINCE NOA2 AND NOTHING!!!!

Did you ever get a reply from the NVC research email? I sent them one a week ago and haven't had a reply. (Other than the automated one acknowledging that I sent it)

Did you have to persuade them to resend it, or is there a process/timeline before they'll do that?

CrumulentMaleCanada2014-01-17 15:26:00
USCIS Service Centerstexas service center hours

The NOA2 approval time varies so much from case to case, but your VisaJourney timeline estimates it will be between February 26, 2014 and March 7, 2014.

That's an average based on what other VJ'ers are reporting right now. It might be faster, but it could easily take a few weeks longer.

CrumulentMaleCanada2014-02-01 23:19:00
Mexico, Latin & South AmericaI received new case number, now what?

Did you get any notification from USCIS that your case has been forwarded? I've been waiting for mine to move since Nov 27th.

Also, this might be helpful in tracking the cases progress

A note for everyone who received their case number from NVC/DOS, here's a way to figure out exactly* when your case left NVC.

By exactly, I mean given normal circumstances and your package was not lost or something to that effect.

First, let's take apart your case number from NVC/DOS. It should be in AAA########## format. For the purposes of this note, let's use MTL2013756004 as an example.

  • AAA - this is the three letter consulate code. MTL is for Montreal.
  • #### - the first four numbers is the year, i.e. 2013.
  • ### - the next three is the Julian day your case number was created. Subtract 500 from the number to determine the day of the year. 756-500=256. 256 is September 13 in Julian calendar of a non-leap year.
  • ### - the last three is the total number of cases sent to the beneficiary's consulate with yours being the latest one processed as of that day. 004 is the fourth case they've processed, so far, for this particular consulate.

Now that we have September 13, 2013 as the date when the case was created, let's check when the package left NVC. The shipping reference used by NVC to ship out packages is in EXP DD MMM YYYYA format, In this case, EXP 13 SEP 2013A.

  • Go to DHL to track the package using the shipping reference.
  • Enter a date range for from and to. Normally, when you call NVC/DOS they tell you when your case left or forwarded to the consulate so use those dates.
  • Look for your package from the list result!

***You might have to play around with the DD part of the shipping reference as well as the from and to date ranges. In my case, for example, I had to enter a DD three days prior as my case actually left on a Monday but the shipping reference was created the Friday before.

I used this to make sure that my case was picked up and actually delivered and signed for at my local consulate. I was also able to print a copy of the proof of delivery so that's a bonus.

Have fun!

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmy CEAC Status confuse me.. help anyone...

The Visa is classified as "refused" while administrative processing is going on. Once they finish doing whatever it is they're doing, it will hopefully be approved, but you're stuck waiting to see if, or when that will happen.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionmy CEAC Status confuse me.. help anyone...

I don't have any direct experience or knowledge on the subject, but there's a good explanation of a 221g here; http://www.visarefusal.com/221g/

Technically, 221(g) is considered a denial; in subsequent visa applications and registration in the Electronic System for Travel Authorization, this must be disclosed. Nevertheless, the overwhelming majority of 221(g) denials are overcome and visas issued.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPacket 3 Questions

Hello all,

Thanks for your wonderful site and the great info we were able to find here. My fiancée and I are at the Packet 3 step right now and I have a few questions I would appreciate answers to.

  • What evidence is sufficient to prove my domicile in the US? Is a copy of my lease and some bills enough?
  • What about the evidence of my status in the US? What does that mean exactly?

In which part of Packet three does that come up? Looking at my DS-160, and checklist, I don't see anything asking for proof of the US citizens residency or status. I would think that had been covered within the I-129f application.

As faras I know, Montreal accepts co-sponsors on a case-by-case basis.

You can do everything for packet 3 via email/web (it's just an online form and a checklist) And the police certificate is brought to the interview.

CanadaWhen you move what do you do with your Canadian finances and debt?

You will not be able to work, even remotely, until you get your EAD.  There is no gray area here.  The USA doesn't work like Canada in this area.  You must have a work permit to be able to work no matter who you are working for (unless you were driving back to Canada to work everyday.)   As for EI, file for the EI immediately before leaving Canada and you should get the first payment after they have proof you have your EAD.

Can you point me to more information on that subject? The majority of posts and topics on that subject are of the opinion that working remotely is technically allowed if you it is a Canadian employer, paying in Canadian dollars to a Canadian account.

My current employer wants to keep me on staff, and all the research I did here, and on similar sites led me to the conclusion that's okay.

CanadaVisiting the us

Whatever he asks you, tell the whole truth. The last three trips I made I said I was 'visiting my fiancee' and they never made an issue of it. If you don't have a return flight, or are taking too much stuff, they might question you more. But the last thing you want is to be barred from entering because of a pointless untruth.

Did you contact them to arrange home delivery? Has Loomis contacted you at all?

I went through Vancouver but I had to go pick it up when it arrived at the nearest loomis facility. Loomis sent me an email the night before it arrived and called me around noon on the day it got there.

CanadaStatus on CSC and how long before I can obtain the Loomis waybill number (Montreal)

The majority of people who get stuck in Administrative Processing for months are from countries with poor record keeping, high rates of fraud, and/or other security concerns.Anything is possible, but I'd say your odds of that happening are probably low (at least based on being from those countries)

I went through Vancouver, but I had my interview on Thursday. On Friday it changed to Administrative Processing, Monday it went to Issued and I had my waybill # on Tuesday morning.
