It's so hard for me and its only been 3 months lol Yeah they tend to change the status whenever you call or send an email. I noticed that and I stopped making any inquiry and it updated by itself 2 times this week. Did you try to contact your congressman? 6 months is a lot. Inshallah...I hope these updates means good new is around the corner,my prayers are with you. Yes I did contact my congressman on 9-20-2013 but no contact from their office yet. Administrative Processing	Case Creation Date: 03-May-2012 Status Updated Date: 15-Sep-2013   Everytime I contact the Cairo Embassy by email and get a response or call the NVC and speak with a visa specialist the status update date changes with every inquiry made by me. So far I have not seen my case status update change because the Cairo Embassy has posted new information . Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)	DS-260	July 10th was my husbands appointment at the Cairo Embassy with the Consular Officer. We have finally reached the end of the tunnel. He was approved for his visa and offered plenty words of congratulations from the Officer( from my understanding he was a very happy man).   My husband account of his appointment:    I showed up at 7 am at the gate got in 7:30 and my name was on gate I took off my shoes and belt cuz they have too much metal to cross the gate then I put shoes in X-ray to check it might hiding something in it then got my things back and went inside the embassy. I took number and waited to be called.    A Egyptian lady working in embassy was placing files in order and put my number on my file so the Embassy officer can call me by number. The Embassy officer called my number the officer was so nice smiling man said good morning sir i replied good morning to you too sir.    He asked me if the lady give you DHL paper to Write your address on it. I told him no so he got one for me and told me write your address here, so i did. Then the officer told me put your 4 right hand fingers on the finger scanner so i after that he told me he will reactivate the visa in the next two weeks so i smiled so he told me you look so happy told him yes sir i have been 15 month in this AP ....yes i can see that ,the officer said.   He asked me which part of the state i will go told him Jax FL told me hmmm nice place i hope you enjoy living there and welcome to US. I told him thanks sir he asked me when was last time you saw your wife told him March told me so she were here recently told him yes he said okay.   It turns out that it was not a signature they needed. The appointment was for fingerprinting, DHL confirmation form for delivery of passport and Waybill number.                                                                                                        Thank you G Walters for  your sweet encouragement you were right. The Officer told my husband that they had to reactive his visa because it was issued but never sent to us 6 months ago.    Its has been a very long journey that started 4 years ago with a simple "hi and a simple Good Night. Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)	DS-260	Earlier this year I posted on VJ that my husband received a package from the Embassy asking him to renew medical,passport and complete the new form DS-260 December 2013 because they expired while in AP. All information and requested forms was completed and returned to Embassy. February I sent emails to the Consular asking for information on our status......all I got was the generic standard email reply. 4 months later my husband again was asked to renew TB exam, complete DS-260 online and return passport with the DS-260 confirmation back to the Embassy once complete.    I was a little confused by the request because the DS-260 was done in December and his interview was done in March 2013.We complied to the request from the Embassy and again completed the request.    This June after Embassy received his package sent through DHL, the Embassy called my husband and said that an appointment for July 10th has been set for him to sign the DS-260 in front of a officer at the Embassy. His name will be listed on the gate and no appointment letter will be mailed.   Is there anyone with information about this upcoming appointment???? I tried to get information about what will happen after signing the DS-260. Hi aisha my husband was in Ap almost 13 months.he had call on June 15 to fill ds260 and then ambassy call him for auth and fingerprints right after that they told him to that ur visa is approved and u will get ur passport in 7 to 10 days and now allahumdulliah he got his visa now soo it's a good sign don't worry about it Thank you for the reassurance. I'm so very happy for you and I'm sorry he was put in AP, so it was their mistake I'm guessing or the Visa was deactivated because of the length of time?  Thank God it ended and thank God the CO was nice.  It's two things I fear AP big time and my husband being mistreated.  Congratulations to you and your husband.       By the way do you know why the AP was so long?   Not sure. But I can say our case fell through the cracks and sat untouched for 6 months of the 15 months total. The officer that had our case no longer works for the Embassy. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Husband has appointment to sign DS260 and swear oath at Embassy in Cairo, now what?	My husband appointment was March 2013 and at his appointment the Consular had him swear under oath, fingerprinted him, had him sign part II of DS-230. They collected his passport and DHL fees just before the interview... about 30 minutes later he was called into the interview room.   He was asked questions about our relationship (how we met, my parents name, how many times I traveled to Egypt, etc.). The Consular collected his I-864 and original documents and he was placed on AP.....9 months later we received a call stating my hubby needed to renew passport, medical and online DS-260.   The Embassy mailed back passport through DHL with letter stating what he needed to send back to complete his case. We have all the requested forms completed now and my husband plans to mail back package today through DHL.   Once the Consular completes the necessary paperwork the passport will be mailed back with visa stamp.	aisha1023	Not Telling	Egypt	2013-12-26 20:53:00

Middle East and North Africa	Living in Egypt with my husband.....	From my understanding it can not be expedited once placed under AP. It is MANDATORY. Below I have posted responses I have received for The Cairo Embassy when I inquried about expediting our AP process.   Thank you for your e-mail message.   Please note that your case is currently undergoing mandatory administrative processing. The time needed to review an individual?s case is difficult to predict. Once this process is completed, we will process your case to conclusion. Middle East and North Africa	Cario Embasy....????? Who is in AP??	I have noticed too how quickly K-1 visa are approved without AP. I contact the Embassy once a month by email most of the time they do not answer. I have contacted the DOS and all they can tell me is your case is still under AP, I will have to contact the embassy where my case is at for more information.   And to Adam2713 the Cairo Embassy took his passport and DHL fee then after interview was giving a piece of paper stating he will be placed on AP and should hear from the embassy in 2 weeks.  I am not sure if this is a good thing but I hope this answers your question. Middle East and North Africa	What You Mean Send Correct Case Number???????!!!!!!!?????	Today I received the strangest email from the Cairo Embassy and I wanted to share my experience. Maybe there is someone out there with a little insight  to my situation.   I sent email to Embassy checking on the status of case after DHL delivery of renewed passport and medical Exam.   To Consular, Cairo IV Jan 15 at 1:19 PM JANUARY.15, 2014   CRO2012XXXXXX Ahmed XXXXXXXX 08/15/XXXX Interview Date March 6, 2013 Good Morning and Happy New Year Consular, My husband and I received his passport and a letter through DHL stating that he needed to renew his medicals, passport, and complete the DS-260 online application.   We completed all requested steps and our CEAC had a new date:   Case Creation Date: 03-May-2012 Status Updated Date: 05-Jan-2014   We have not heard word if we completed the necessary steps correctly and where do we stand from here. If there is any information still needed I will be more than happy to provide you with all you need to complete our application. I pray that I am not a bother but I have been told that we are close to the end of this first of any journeys in our life. I am just a little excited to know if this is true. Thank you for your great service   The Embassy Reply:   Consular, Cairo IV To Me Today at 2:15 AM  January 21 2014 Kindly send us the correct case number so that we may check and get back to you.   Regards,   Consular Section U.S Embassy, Cairo MO   CORRECT CASE NUMBER?????????????????? Every email is addressed with Embassy approved format. FYI case number correct in every email to the Consular of the Embassy. So I replied:   CRO2012XXXXXX Ahmed 08/15/XXXX Interview Date March 6, 2013   Good Morning Thank you for your reply. His name is Ahmed XXXXXXXXXXXXX and case number is CRO2012XXXXXX. I address all my emails as requested by the Embassy. Is there a different number I should be using?????? Thank you waiting on your prompt reply.   Now I have to say the response was quick. 20 mins later I received this reply:   Consular, Cairo IV To Me   Thank you for your e-mail message.                                                                                                                                                 Please note that your case is currently undergoing mandatory administrative processing.  The time needed to review an individual?s case is difficult to predict.  Once this process is complete, we will notify you of the next step in your case.   Regards, Consular Staff   I hope I am not hurting my case by the email inquiries but this one reply threw me for a lope. Why would the Embassy send through DHL in December 2013  his passport and a letter stating he needs to renew his passport and medical. If he is planning to travel before February 1 2014, he needs to do half medical exam. Middle East and North Africa	Finally	It is nice to make some forward progress after months of standing still. My hubby got his passport back today which was good because I needed a valid date to complete the online DS-260.   One year ago I completed paper form DS-230 I and II so when I started the DS-260 it was similar in a way but it asked for a lot more detail. If you have not completed this form make sure you have available detailed information of current/previous employment and education history from high school to current.   Total time start to finish 50 minutes.....have to check every detail because I did not want it to be viewed as incomplete due to the lack of information.	aisha1023	Not Telling	Egypt	2013-12-26 19:36:00

We will be contact you shortly about your husband case. I was just happy to see a response that was not their old generic email but it still left questions unanswered.   Today DHL delivered my husband passport to his home with a letter stating that he needed to renew his medical, police record and passport. After renewal send back to Embassy.   Alhamdulillah. I have waited for so long. Middle East and North Africa	Now Arriving At The End of This 4 Year Journey	Are u have intervew before Thais is Tani an appointment at the embassy and whether new medical examination by renewed TP before Sorry I forever Congratulations I am so sorry to hear her readiness to leave you after only being in AP for 6 months. Its truly to early to be throwing in the towel considering the time you already waited.   My husband and I was in AP for 15 months and renewed our Medical report 3 different times. The last time was only for new TB test and DS-260 confirmation page.    I am sorry to say That is nothing you can do to speed up AP. You must clear your background check and have a valid medical report before they approve and Issue visa.   You must get your wife now involved in your visa process if she is not already. I have seen lots of comments by other members saying they connected their Congress member for help. Some say it works ...other say it does not. Have you done the DS-260 online??? That is something you and your wife can work on plus it will be one less thing holding you back.   I can only speak on my experience with my Senator office these pass 6 months. I felt like you lost and alone so I had nothing to lose by contacting my Senator office for my Florida district.    He was amazing and professional. His office was able to get my case moving again, they contacted the Cairo Embassy and were able to find out that our visa was already issued 6/7 months ago.   I called the NVC and asked to speak with a supervisor to confirm this. I told them my Senator office emailed me some disheartening information about my case and the Embassy was not answering my emails( had not gotten a response in over 3 weeks). They give me her number and told me to call the next day at 130 pm.   I did....and they admitted it was true. I felt at least I had someone that could get the Embassy to respond to my questions ( The NVC could not...I tried them first.)   You and your wife must stand together and fight. Talk to each other , love each other and plan for your future together. Use this time in AP for prayer and getting your loose ends in order. You must know that you did everything possible to make it work and if she does not want to stay after that...then she was never committed to you in the first place.
