K-3 Spousal Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsLate January Approvals, lets do NVC together
Hi guys!

We got our receipt number for I-130 but nothing for I-129f. So my question is that can you send DS-3032 already to the NVC even though we don't have receipt number for I-129f?

Thanks!

Yeah, I know what you mean. That part makes me worry and stress out because I know what one little mistake means!!! wacko.gif headbonk.gif unsure.gif Did the hard copy of NOA2 list of the required documents you need to send to NVC?

My husband hasn't received it yet, so I don't know what kind of instructions it will have. Can you tell me what your NOA2 told you? So far I have my police record, birth certificate and marriage certificate. I have also translated our joint bank account agreement which was in finnish. I actually wondered one thing about these translations. Do you need to attach the original document to the translated copy? Because that is what our translator did. Also about these certified copies. I made one of our marriage certificate and I'm also going to do that for my police record. I'm not very confident of giving NVC our original papers, if they are going to lose those whistling.gif

Hey! At the medical examination, they will ask you do you carry any STD's. so you have to answer to that question honestly. Does anyone know from experience that having an herpes won't cause your denial?

The medical examination is under the jurisdiction of the US Embassy. If you pass the medical, you can go ahead with your interview. From what I've heard, the consul will only be asking questions about the authenticity of the relationship, and not about the results of the medical.

It all depends on passing the medical. The medical examiner will ask about any sexually transmitted diseases so even if they won't physically examine you for it, you would still have to answer that question.

Hey daisychain,

Good to know. Can you tell me what did they basically test when you went to this medical examination? Thanks again.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan medical examination affect to your K-3 visa approval
Hello all!

Me and my hubby applied for the I-130 and I-129F. I've been reading a lot of stuff about the visa process. But one thing is still bothering me. When your interview for the visa has been confirmed, do you need to have the medical examination beforehand? I read that they usually take a blood test for the HIV and then a general check up. I also know that a vaccination for the HPV and some others has to be taken. But is herpes simplex 1/2 tested at all or does it matter if you do have it? Because I haven't heard that based on the results of the medical examination, the visa has been denied. If someone knows and has the same kind of concer, answers are very much needed! :)

I wish you all the best for your journey!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Time!!!
Hey!

I don't know if there's any exact time that you can say for sure. There might be so many different reasons for couples that are being processed faster than others. As I have heard, I would say that the time line is approximately 4-6 months to get final approvals. But like my husband is always saying to me, I am prepared for the worse that our K3 will be approved after 6 months (we filed our applications at the end of May). So until that, I try not to worry too much about these things smile.gif But of course you need a positive attitude on the way. I wish you a good luck for everything! good.gif

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresCan you ask case transfer from VSC to CSS?
Hello!

I have a question. Me and my hubby filed I-130 on May 2008 and unfortunately I-129F on June 2008. Does anyone know can you ask from USCIS to transfer your case from VSC to CSS? It has already been 9 months for this BS and still no NOA2 from Vermont. In USCIS customer service, they can't provide any information on anything because we aren't March filers. So could it speed up the process if you can ask your case to be transferred to CSS already before May?

Thanks!

You have to translate everything into English for USCIS (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?autocom=custom&page=translations), but you shouldn't have to send anything directly to NVC.

Oh ok! Thanks. But my understanding is that you don't need to send any proofs of your relationship to USCIS with your I-130 and I-129F applications (I mean that is what we did) but after receiving NOA2 you start preparing your package for NVC, who will transfer the case to your embassy with all the attached doumentations of your on-going relationship, right? tongue_ss.gif Gosh, I've been reading so many topics relating these kind of things, but still it seems to be confusing to me headbonk.gif

So I'm done with my medical! It wasn't that bad as I thought it would be. It took approximately 2 hours total with the laboratory tests, x-ray and interview. The doctor was very nice and joked around a lot. I will have the results next week! Weird thing was that the doctor didn't mention anything about the vaccinations. I did have vaccination records with me, so I think there wasn't anything I needed to take.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI need advices!
Hey!

I have a problem. My K3 papers have been sent to the embassy and NVC is currently processing the I-130 application. I have already done my medical plus gathering most of the necessary documents, so soon I could book the appointment with the embassy for the K3. I have talked with my hubby that we both would like to have I-130 but we don't know how long would it take. So, what we were thinking is that I go ahead and try to book the interview for the K3 as far as I can and hopefully the I-130 will be ready until then. I'm still working in my country until end of august, so I have time to wait. BUT if NVC won't be able to finish I-130 application before august and I will take the K3 interview, what are my chances to have the I-130 interview later? Adjustment of status is just rip off. So can I come to my country and take the I-130 interview here without AOS?

Thanks in advance for your help!

You want to hear something very strange? My hubby sent this email to the embassy in Helsinki:

"Good Afternoon, me and my wife currently have our CR-1 being reviewed at the NVC. Wanting to be get ahead start in preparing for the interview with the embassy. My question is how could we provide proof of our communication between each other? We generally use the following tools to communicate: Skype (peer to peer), email, and phone. I am able to provide the history/log of our emails and phone calls. However, what it is an acceptable way to present this data to the interviewer? Because, email along we have 2000+ messages and to print them out I don't think its feasible. Could I put them in an excel sheet and have her store the messages on a USB stick, so if we could have a back up in case the interviewer would like to see the messages"

Embassy sent their reply in few mins and basically just said that there is no need to provide extra proof of our marriage, relationship etc. I mean, what the hell?????? blink.gif Can this really be true?

it differs greatly from consulate to consulate... why would you not believe the decision maker? any one here can say differently but it simply does not matter because no one here will make this decision....

Or can it vary if it's K3 or CR-1 interview? Because this question was mainly for CR-1. Anyways, I think we are going to provide extra proof for them just in case smile.gif

not likely as much difference from K-3 & CR1 as it would be from a spousal to a fiance(e) visa.....

always better to be over prepared

QUOTE (mrsB @ Mar 28 2009, 04:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I have been told that I shouldn't even try to use the visa waiver program as I will FOR SURE be turned back and it'll cause problems. I've spoken to the senator's immigration specialist and she says there's nothing I can do right now but wait. And all she can do is check the status of our case every 30 days. That's all. I also learned that regardless of what the embassy said, our case might be with FBI for several more months and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

I've been told that the only way I could for sure go to USA is with a tourist visa, but I have been previously told that I can't get one because I'm married to an American. So I'm stuck here and my husband is stuck over there.

I'm happy for all those people who've been able to at least see their loved ones during this process, but apparently for some reason I'm on some kind of a blacklist or whatever and not wanted in USA - except by my husband.

By the way... How have you been able to tell when your case has been "touched" as stated on the timeline? USCIS told us that they're not required to give us that sort of information.

When you log in the USCIS web site to check your case status online, it shows a date there. If that date has been changes since you last time logged in, that means you have been "touched" smile.gif I don't know why do they say you can also get the latest updates to your e-mail as well, because that never works..

Hei!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical examination question
Hello all!

I got an letter from US embassy that they have received my K3 papers and I should contact the doctor to have the medical etc. before K3 interview. Since me and my hubby filed an I-130 too (it's currently in processing in NVC), we are thinking to proceed with that and not with the K3. My question is, can I go ahead and take the medical now. Would it be valid for my I-130 interview later, if we are skipping the K3? Has anyone experienced with this?

Thanks!

It will not affect her visa. My sister-in-law had it in 1993 and she's here. I'm not sure if she told the doctor though. Will they know? smile.gif

I believe they will be testing for the HBV B. Not really sure. But thanks for the reply good.gif

Not sure if requirements differ between countries but in Canada this is what they state. Good luck.

Blood Test:

Applicants 15 years and older will have blood taken to test for the presence of HIV and syphilis.
If you have ever been diagnosed with syphilis, HIV, AIDS or any other sexually transmitted disease, please bring a report from a physician or health department outlining the treatment you received. In the event that your blood test is positive for HIV or syphilis your name will be forwarded to the appropriate public health authority as required by law.

I wonder what other reports do they mean? Do you seriously have to take every paper with you if you have been previously or many years ago tested for STD's or something?

Is this a real K3 or a DCF?

DS230?

congrats

I don't quite understand what you mean?! smile.gif This is for CR-1. We decided not to proceed with the K-3, because it seemed to be easier and CR-1 came this fast anyways!

Didn't they give you a colored slip? I don't see how that can be a reason for denial. Why would they take your passport unless it's to stamp it with a visa? You're good! smile.gif

Noup, I didnt' get any kind of slip! They just took my passport. And the weird thing was that I wasn't even interviewed in a separate room, just in front of the desk. I saw some people were called to the room and I was totally expecting that. The officer wasn't paying too much interest to my papers what so ever. Just asked briefly some questions and that was it. But I guess consulates are very much different in every country.. Maybe they are more ignorant in Finland ohmy.gif Heheh.
