    I might be in the wrong section but I think it works for both.  I filed for the I-130 my question is the following.   I want to add my husband to our car, it was a gift from my brother and he needs to be on it for when God willing he comes to the USA and finds a job.  I wonder if immigration will be suspiciou about this since we could use it as more proof of a bona fide marriage.  I just don't know what to do, don't want them to think I'm pulling something.  I'm really paranoid about every little thing and don't want to make a move until I can find out what I should do.  Will have to send the paper work to Egypt so he can sign it.  What do you guys think of this is it something I go a head and do or not? :unsure: :help: :whistle:

My case was complete at the NVC on February 6th, I was looking at a spread sheet earlier and it looked like all of the people who were finished in December had appointments in June, and none of the people who finished in January had appointments yet so I think it's safe to assume if you finished at the NVC in January, you will be getting an appointment for July. Can anyone else corroborate this, or help me figure out who is getting appointments now. Then maybe we can figure out who will be getting appointments next. I don't remember where it was that I saw that spread sheet unfortunately but I was looking at it only a few days ago and it only had Egypt timelines on it. I think if we get group together tho with everyone's completion dates and schedule dates, maybe we can start predicting when people will get their appointments.

 

   Sorry I took so long been busy and sick all at the same time.   This would be great but how to do it, seems like a really long time to wait for an interview.:(

Soloenta, your case was approved within days of mine- we will have to compare notes on how long it takes to get through NVC and when the interview dates are.

 

I was hoping that my husband's interview would be in July or August so I could go with him. The one thing I know from getting his previous green card there is that the wait can be long and boring!

Hi every one
I need help do i need waver or permeation to go back to usa through my usc son over  21 years old
   After been deported from us in 2003 after co stop me in  kenndy air port in 2001 he    tried to send me back home after  refused and showed him a paroled gave me  a permission  and received a note to appear at the court but not appear then  got arrested and  detained then removed i  think I don?t need any permission can any one help me with that
My son already applied for me i -130   got approved now I am at nvc then the lawyer told my son may be at the embassy they well as for that and he get a way to cancel that   I belief he just want to to get some money

I wish we had more data, you know? It's so hard to guess based on just a few cases. Maybe it will be a longer wait than we think, but then again maybe not! There's obviously tons of cases and we just can't access what's going on with them. I am really praying all of us waiting on the embassy there have good luck.

 

I am very seriously considering returning to Egypt on a foreign hire contract starting from the summer (I'm a teacher). I'm sick of waiting it out here in the US to be honest. I figure by the time the visa is issued and anyway you have 6 months to enter after issued which would pretty much bring me to this time next year. 

 

     I agree not much information and the bad cases always stick out more than any others for obvious reasons.  Still they discriminate against Muslims that is a given. 

 

     I'll just say thing, If I were you I would stay the course because unless you can easily get out of your contract it's not worth it.  You've come so far why risk it.  Just my own opinion and I know how you feel and how lonely it is to wait.  But we have to see the big picture.  Ty for the prayers I pray for the same myself and I'll be praying you take the right step in this matter because it's not an easy one to make. :)

Let's try to think positively! Maybe they will get through the backlog. I just wonder how bad it could possibly be? I mean the embassy was closed for awhile during the revolution, but I moved to Egypt right after that and left in July '13...and I get the embassy updates. It wasn't closed for that many days that you'd think it'd cause a big delay. But I guess this is Egypt we're talking about and nothing ever moves fast anyway. Who knows. Let's hope for the best!

 

I think the best thing is when any of us have a case complete at NVC to report back when we find out the interview date. Is anyone done at NVC now and waiting for the interview? I'm waiting to pay IV fees and send in the IV docs, so I'm hoping not more than a month or so before I wait for that part.

 

  I agree I was there for the whole thing and if not mistaken they didn't close for more than a week total.  They did declare an emergency for no essential personnel but they didn't close for that.  

 

  I also agree we need to come back and let others know when we were given an interview and hopefully how that interview went.  

 

  I'm hoping and praying for the best outcome.   Good luck to all of us and your both in my prayers, God will help us I know.

The last set of Cairo issued interview dates were for cases that were complete in Dec 2013. 

 

I know there is one case that was complete in Jan 2014 and a bunch in March and April 2014. So lets wait and see . . .

Awww...I can totally relate! It's the worst to have to wait so long :( I also feel like I can't tolerate having our family separated for so long. It's so hard, especially on my son. Is your husband in Cairo?

 

    Poor baby I bet he misses his daddy, yes this is the worst thing in the world I can't imagine anyone doing this on purpose.  My husband is worth it but no one else.   He lives in upper Egypt about 6 hours away we used to live in Hurghada and have our apartment there.  But for work purposes he had to move but goes back home sometimes to rest.   My lower lip is getting a beating hahaaaa sometimes I feel like crying at the worst times and I bit it until the pain makes the feeling go away. :jest: :yes:  When this is done I'll either be dead, insane or a better person for it.  We shall see which.

Yes, let's keep in touch! I really hope it won't take my husband so long. I seriously can't imagine waiting 6 months for an interview and just the approval took 6 months and I know that NVC will take at least 2-3 months. Let's pray that the US embassy in Egypt really does speed it up, like the other poster says. At least my son and I will be back in Cairo this summer to see my husband. That's the only thing I have to look forward to from now. 

 

  Sound good to me and so happy you will be seeing your husband in the summer.   I'm not so lucky I have to wait and it's killing me I just wish I could go some where and scream and cry all I want to no one will see or hear me.   Just frustrated and missing my husband. :cry:

I just posted what is here. But the stats for everyone that goes through Egypt is 4 to 7 months. You should see Yemen or Cambodia 8 months or more. It happens. That is just how it is.

 

Yes their are slots for specific interviews and seeing your husband already had a Visa at some point and went through the process and it looks like just a case of reviewing and reissuing, the embassy probably doesn't have to worry about all the issues a newbie may have to go through. There's still much vetting at the embassy stage for the beneficiary before interview.

 

It just like people requesting expedite. There's always space at some point. People cancel every day.

 

I do also pray everyday for my Egyptian peeps and that their process gets going fast.

We waited 5 months for a K1 interview. The embassy has gotten behind over the last couple of years, but seem to be trying to make a valiant effort to got caught up. They are inching forward to shorter wait times, but lets hope that things stay somewhat stable over the next few months for you. I have also noticed that there are some who interview at Cairo and are either not put in AP or its pretty short, so maybe that is helpful. Our interview is coming up and hoping for no AP. :)

My nvc case was complete January 31st. Still waiting for an interview date. (CR-1 visa here) I keep thinking we should hear something soon. You talk to NVC they blame the embassy. The embassy is like talking to a brick wall. However between uscis wait times and nvc processing wait times, a couple of months seems to be a given for any kind of step forward in the visa process. I will consider myself lucky if we have the interview sometime this summer....assuming the embassy doesn't close because of presidential elections.

I know! I really feel like 6 months is not the norm at all. I would be very surprised about that based on my previous experience. 

 

Yes, so my husband was an issued a green card in 2004 right after we first got married (living in Cairo then). That was when you could file directly through the US Embassy in Cairo (with you could do that now as it took all of 4 months- unfortunately they don't have direct consular filing anymore). After that was issued in 2004, we lived in the US up until 2011 when we moved back to Cairo. But my husband never entered the US from 2011 until now, so the residency status is lost so the green card is no longer a valid entry document. I moved back to the US with my son in July 2013 when the political situation was too out of my comfort range. My husband tried to get a Returning Resident visa so that he could keep his old green card. The US Embassy wouldn't issue it- said he had to apply for a new green card. So that's what we did. I applied 10/1/13 and it was approved 4/11/13. Since you were approved 4/8, that's within days of me, so we'll have to compare notes on how fast the apps go through the NVC and to the interview stage.

 

    Yes we will compare notes and your on my friends list now so we can keep in touch no matter what.  But I'm sure it wont take that long for your husband as it will for mine.   When I told my husband the wait time for the interview he became so depressed,  I was find I was already depressed. :(  This is total torture no horror movie will ever scare me again.

An immigrant visa is an animal all it's own with its own queue system.  Don't forget to expect an extended AP after the interview.

I highly doubt it will take 6 months after the case is complete at the NVC. That seems far too long. They aren't THAT slow at the embassy there I don't think.

 

My husband lost his US residency status because we were living in Egypt for the past few years (well, my husband is still there...I left in the summer when things got dicey). 

 

However, he applied for a Returning Resident visa through the US embassy in Cairo just to see if somehow he could reenter on the green card he held which wasn't expired (he couldn't- he had been out too long). That was in early September of the past year. When he called up to make an appointment for an interview for that visa, they were willing to let him in the next day! He couldn't go the next day because of short notice, so they let him come two days later. 

 

I am wondering if the wait for different TYPES of visas take varying amounts of times, due to the interview spots they have for those visas? Just a thought. Because like I said, they literally told my husband he could come in the next day for a Returning Resident visa interview and that was when things were particularly bad in Egypt. One of the people above was for K1, but that's different than an I130...maybe for a K1 you do have to wait that long?

 

My husband was just approved for another green card for him on 4/11 (guess my case is either on it's way or at NVC), so I guess I'll see how long it takes. 

 

   There has to be a difference AmberG I have never heard of this at the Embassy in Egypt.   But it is as should be you already went through the whole process should have to go through it again.  Congratulations on the approval.

   OMG ty this is just so sad the wait seems to never end for us does it. :(


 

For I-130 I am afraid once you have case Complete at NVC you have about a 6 to 8 month wait.

So I'm filling out the I-864 and my Wife is the Principal Immigrant, and along with her daughter that makes the 2 people I'm sponsoring, but a little further along in Part 5 in the section about my household size it asks me if I am married and you have to enter "1" which makes my household look one person bigger than it is.

 

Since my Wife and Stepdaughter are the only two I am sponsoring and I live alone up here until they arrive what should I put for total household size? The form says don't count anyone twice but I DON'T want to leave question 3 in part 5 blank.

   Your house hold is 3 if you look about where you put 1 for yourself it says immigrants sponsoring that is where you put 2 plus your 1 = 3.  I was really confused on this one myself.  So if your sponsoring your wife and her child 2 under immigrant sponsoring and again it's about where you count yourself as one.  Good luck. :)

Hi,

Nope I never applied for any expediting till my daughters case was missing , and that was done only last week. And also FYI my Priority date ( Received appetence of the I-130) was 04/20/2013.

So its been way over the normally estimated time frame, and that was due to lots of RFE's  they asked for.(Police Reports, Old Egyptian Birth Certificate and not the electronic one { it toke me a hell of a time to convince them that Egyptian birth reports have been changed into the new ones and that old ones no longer are available!!})

HI,

I Have applied for an IR-1 Spouse and children.... reached to a stage of having interviews scheduled for both my son and spouse, and have  two questions and hope anyone can advise with any information:

  • The NVC has scheduled as mentioned an Interview date for only two applicants, although the third one is only 5 Years old.. So does anyone have an Idea on what to do??? Am I supposed to take her along to the interview with her brother and mother???
  • Second; Sure most USC living abroad have heard of the new Tax FORM  8938 that has to be filled along with normal 1040 and 2555!!! so does anyone have any knowledge on whether  or not we might be asked for it in the Interview???

 

 

  I'm not an expert but I would take it just in case.  The Egyptian Embassy is the worst and it's best to prepare as much as you can.   I think most likely they wont ask you for it but leave no stone unturned. 

 

  Question please,  was your case expedited or is it true that it's getting faster to get an interview?  It used to take 6 to 8 months then went down to 4 to 6 and lately it seems 1 to 2 months which would be a miracle. :D Thank you in advance and congratulations I'm sure all will go well, God willing.

I'll start off for you :P. 

We received a checklist for a w2! (AOS Package). The W2 form didn't exist since my wife worked in the UK! (We have P60's, which she included). She also had a note saying the UK did not do w2's, only P60's. 

We were able to speak to a supervisor, who said they would remove the checklist- It took 31 business days to remove their error.   :bonk:

 

  Hey happy to see you, I received a letter yesterday saying the AOS was incomplete well know better cause our angel doesn't make mistakes so I called and said there is no way and Don told me twice the AOS was accepted.   I thought I was going to die but she spoke to a supervisor and all is well thank God.  Now just praying they don't lose any of our documents.  :(

I know what your saying and I'm against illegal immigration and amnesty. But he specifically mentioned the Embassy's and what they put us through. So I'm holding on to that at the moment and we will deal with the other as it comes. We have to have faith that letter's will for this moment help us out. We the ones that are doing it the right way. Please be possitive and we will make it through all of this including the amnesty. Bless you and your family.

It is amazing how I can get a vistor's visa for India in 5 days, but my husband has to wait for his for almost a year. This really sucks. Plus, we are doing the right thing and going through the legal process, while there are millions now in this country that did not.

The aide from the congressman's office was really efficient and helpful, so we didn't follow up with Obama's office.
