Hello VJ Family,

Did anyone try contacting Gloria today from the Congressional oversight division for CSC?
anthonyddiggs1MalePhilippines2010-08-23 19:42:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarch 2010 CR1 filers

I called this number. The moment I mentioned I filed my case 4 months ago, the lady went all "Listen, Listen. This is not a inquiry line. You need to call national 800 number." Didn't even let me say a single more word before ending the conversation. What the hell!

WOW, I guess that number took flight after it got posted. But I would call again on Monday, and tell the lady to transfer you to the Congressional Oversight Office. Then if they transfer you, ask for Gloria or Christina. Maybe if you are able to at least get the transfer to the Congressional Oversight office, that is just one more foot in the door.

I agree with you upto certain extent but not fully.

If we are talking to anyone from USCIS and give away our information such as ssn or receipt no. AFTER that you say that you are an ex government employee than if they asks you.....well....give some of background information such as where were you working which dept....it could be anything......then you can't say lie...because if you do, Then also your case might go in a trouble. .also G-325-A revelas all work history,,,,isn't it..... so be careful of what you say......they are aalso a government.

No I was not saying that in any way shape or form. I was just adding to what Tom had said. I would never tell anyone to misrepresent themselves. Also when I said that I was telling me story, it was also for many of the US military people that are here on this site with no help and need a friend to point them in the right direction. Because sometimes they are left in the dark just as much as we are if they dont know what to do.

No. The moral of the story is that you got preferential treatment that you don't deserve or are due. You keep mentioning your government work history. Not everyone works for the government. Moreover a municipal sweeper won’t get the same stoke of nepotism/favoritism that you’ve got.
The moral of the story: If you got connection, you are set. Otherwise, touch luck. Wait it out.

I'm happy for you. Congrats.

First off, let me apologize if I may have offended you in any way. That was not my intention. Now to comment on what you had to say. YES! I agree that they offer preferential treatment to certain people. IE: US Military. I feel that they give up the one thing that we take for granted (spending time with the one that they love)just to serve our country. Any person that has ever served in the military knows exactly what I am talking about. I served my time as a memeber of the military and also in other areas of the government. So if you feel that I used my history to get ahead of the game. Your right I did.
I am not ashamed of it and I am not going to sugar coat either. My goal was to let others know that if they are in the same ssituation as I was in to try that method and see if it works for them as well. Now I also should add on to what Tom said. Just because I told the lady from CSC that I was former government employee, doesnt mean she could check or knew if I was telling her the truth. Just like with any business, you have to know the right buttons to push and try your luck. Just so happed for me that it worked.

So really what I am trying to say is that just because you are not a government employee, doesnt mean that there are not other ways to get USCIS to give you that same treatment.

Also I should say that I was getting preferential treatment, I wouldnt have been waiting just like you all this time.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMarch 2010 CR1 filers
Good Morning my VJ family,

Let me start off by saying thanks so much for the all the celebration. It is so good to finally be done with USCIS, I won't have to deal with them again until around 2012,2013 when I file for my step-son to move here. So to catch you up to speed my wife is just floating on cloud nine with excitement. So here is what all went down.

I am going to start from last week. So as you all know, I sent an email to the CSC follow-up inquiry division. (If you see from LOTO paste of my email). Then I called and spoke with a lady on the phone from the national customer service center. She was so very helpful.(Truly it just matters on who you get on the phone, determines how far you can get them to do work). Then on Friday the 13th, I got an email from CSC IO telling me that I had to wait 20 to 35 more days. At first I was content with that, but that changed on Monday. After I went to the local USCIS office and they told me that they couldnt do anything more for me, I began to call senators and congressmans. Then yesterday I spoke to the aids from my local legislation. Filled out paperwork with them and then went home.

Now here is when things took a turn.
So I remembered that someone had posted a number of the senior staff of the CSC office. I called the number and asked for one of the people that was listed on the post. The lady that answered the phone, told me that the person I was asking for no longer worked at that office. Then she asked me how she could help me. When I started to explain about my case, she stopped me and stated that I needed to call the customer service number(SO WORD TO THE WISE GOOD LUCK GETTING THROUGH WITH LADY). But I started to explain to her that customer service was blowing me off and that I had already spoken to my local legislation to make a congressional inquiry. After I told her that I explained to her that I was a former government employee with a certain agency. (SORRY NOT ABLE TO SPEAK ABOUT MY FORMER JOB) The lady then transferred me to another womans voicemail. (CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT DIVISION). At 3:30pm I received a call from that office. I was then explained that CSC had lost my file. I when I contacted them last week, that like magic found my file. She then told me that she was going to speak with the person that had my file and would call me back.

So I go to my night class and around 6pm I got a text on my from telling me that my case had been updated. Then I checked my email and saw that the case was approved.

So here is my theory: After speaking to the lady from the oversight division. She told them to expedite my case due to my past history. I guess she didnt want me to cause anymore ripples with USCIS.

So what is the moral to this story? KEEP BUGGING THEM!!!!!!!!! If your past the 5 month mark you have all the rights in the world to find out what the heck is going on. And dont be afraid to tell them that you have filed a congressional inquiry(EVEN IF YOU HAVENT DO IT YET) They really dont like some outside agency poking their nose in their business :bonk:

Marie: I hope you hear from them today. My fingers are crossed for you to get an approval. Keep calling them. And try your luck with the number that I called. Maybe you will get lucky and they will transfer you.

To all of my April filers here: Keep the faith and prayers, I feel that they will start your approvals by next week or the first week of September

To TOMD: You owe me that beer now

Again thank you all

Well hello everyone,

It is tuesday and still nothing from USCIS. I did however email all of my legislation here in San Diego. So let's see how long that takes to get a response from them  .

Also just wanted to announce to everyone here that today is me and my wife's one year wedding anniversary. It has also been one year today that we have seen each other.
She sent me a package that I received yesterday. She bought me a couple of polo shirts and a nice t-shirt. It was a nice gift. Great to know that even with distance you can still hold on to love as if it is right there next to you.

Good luck to us all on getting out of the waiting game for an NOA2.

Okay all here is the update from going to the Local Office.

I went to my appointment today and spoke with an Immigration Officer and was not happy about what I was told. In a nutshell, I was told that there was not much they could do since all applications go through the service centers. The only thing that they can do is what I have already done. Which was contact the service center and request an inquiry to the delay. But not everything was a complete waste. I was told by the IO that my case had been assigned to a new IO at the service center as of the 13th. When I checked the online status board it stated that my case was updated on the 14th.

So going to the local office does nothing for you except look someone in the face and getting the same news that you get on the phone.

To Inquiry Personnel,

I filed an I-130 petition for immediate relative on March 12,2010. As of today I still have not recieved any notification in regards to the petition.

I have contacted the National customer service center and was advised that I had to wait until the petition has passed your national goal processing time of five (5) months. This unfortunately will be tomorrow. I would ask that someone in your office, Look into the status of the petition and notify me by email as soon as possible.

Thank you for the assistance,

Okay all here is my little update.

So Today I called the Customer Service Center and spoke to a lady by the name of Sharon. After I explained my situation to her and advised her that I was a former government employee, she escalated my call to an immigration officer by the name of Gonzales. Now this is the information that I was given to the delay.

1. CSC is on complete overload with I-130 petitions and they have sent out an alert to all customer service agents that anyone calling to wait an additional 20 days before starting a service request for escalation.

2. This is a myth-buster. The applications for Haitian and Chilean nationals is not affecting the process of I-130 applications. This is because USCIS has set up a completely different section to handle only those applications.

3. Immigration Officer confirmed that the online site is a piece of Junk!!!!! And should not be used as a sole purpose of checking.

4. This was interesting to hear. That they often will pull applications for quality assurance and that will slow the process down for that applicant. (LUCK OF THE DRAW FOR THAT UNLUCKY SOUL).

5. Here is another interesting fact. Immigration Officer says that the USCIS timeline does follow CSC actual processing timeline as of today. Also stated that CSC will be on overload until around October 2010.

6. He advised that anyone that has passed the 5 month mark and 20 days should start calling so a service request can be placed.

7. (Local offices) Immigration officer stated that not much can be done from a local office. All they will do is the same thing that he did for me over the phone.

8. New information. When you call the 1-800-375-5283 number. All that person does on the phone is the same thing we do, which is check the online status board :bonk: . The only difference is that they can attempt to place the service request before sending to an immigration officer for escalation.

Well I am still going to make my appointment on Monday, just to see if what he told me was the gospel truth. :innocent: But he did tell me that my application was updated as of July 22. Which the online status board does not show.

So I hope this gives all of you some insight to what the heck is going on with the CSC office.

Tony, JD,
Look here I didn't say go in there screaming!!! You need to be calm and collective. :innocent: You're a victim in all of this. You know its not deliberate. You are not accusing the person your speaking with so keep your emotions out of it. You need to shame them into it. Your the ones who are suffering not them. Negotiation skills...
With regards to supporting documentation. This is not a court of law. You dont need certified, objective evidence or proof beyond a reasonable doubt. What you see on here should be good enough. Don't tell me they think we set up a website just to make them look bad..haha :bonk: Just print out some peoples posts. Be selective your only looking for those that support what ever point your trying to make. ALso some of the charts. I think what we have here is certainly a good random sampling of the general public. Look at opinion polls and voting polls ...Your trying to show things that support your concerns and know body can fault you for that. I dont think they will put a FO on your file for asking reasonable and educated questions. You guys know the process now ... You understand Haiti and perhaps Chile have slowed things down. You just want fair treatment. Right.

Your right Tom, I guess I was reading too much into your other comment. I think I just need to step back and take a deep breathe of fresh air :bonk:. Considering I of all people should know how to deal with government employees  . Well let's see what happens when I meet with them. Be certain that I will have all of my ducks in a row

I agree with that but my question is how can you give them any of the other people here on VJ approval without knowing there receipt number for them to validate it. especially for people that have been approved around your time frame.

No I haven't even made the appointment. I plan on talking to the state senator liaison tomorrow morning and see if they can contact USCIS directly to find something out. if they can't, then i plan on going with the appointment and just going ask them basic questions (i dont even have a copy of what was submitted so i am kind of in trouble but oh well. have the receipt number).

1) Any updates as I have been waiting for over 5 months?
2) Is there anything wrong with my case?
3) Any further evidence needed?

Please feel free to add or comment and let me know what your plan of action is when you go.

Those are the same questions I was thinking of.

Hey to all of our April filers that are here on the March thread,

I was reading some posts of the April thread and was amazed that they are relying on the VJ timeline as when they will get there NOA2. I am assuming that none of you here have posted there to explain that they should not rely on that. There is nothing worse then getting your hopes up reading that thing and then when the date passes, you start wondering why you have not seen an approval. I think that one of you as a sign of good faith should clue them onto the madness of USCIS and how the VJ timeline is not reliable.

Come on guys. I understand that know body like to watch the clock but I was at 120 days by the time I got my NOA2... I think you just started watching too soon so it seems longer. Look at poor Tony He is way over due for some reason. Karma maybe?  You still have some time to wait. I remember my sister always though I was the favorite child when we were growing up. Even to this day but she is the one who got the horse, car and way more clothing that I did. The good new is I could beat her up...  but I didn't...

Hey Tom if that is the case you owe me a few drinks. I am a Corona Man
But thanks for keeping me in mind Tom. I really think it could be Karma that is keeping me from getting approved :bonk:

Tom - I am already at 123 days as of today. So i already saw that 120 days. Hoping no one else has to see that.

Well at least your not walking up on 150 days. That is my number of days waiting in about 7 more days. :crying:

Okay I just got off the phone with a USCIS rep named Jason. And of course I got the same run around. He told me that I am still within the normal processing timeframe and that I need to wait until after my 8 days and if I still have not received a notice to call back. He also said that even if I call then, there is not much they can do because the wait time on the website is only an estimated average.

:crying:  so here is my question, why in the hell would they even post the timeframe if they themselves don't even know.

please do not give out bad information. first off you apply for an itin if you never plan on getting a social security number. you should go for the social security number if you are married. my wife has her social security number since before we were married. an itin is for people that are really illegal and want to file taxes. remember you file your taxes based on what you are as of december 31st. but if the wife doesn't ahve a social security number and gets one the next year then you can go back and amend the return but if she doesn't live there for the last 6 months of the year then you can do head of household if you have a child or a parent.

You know that was going to be my next question. I am glad you brought that up.

That would be your best bet.

Good luck to your immigration journey and you are almost due for NOA2!
