Russia, Ukraine and BelarusFailing relationships
Hey Guys,

We always write when things are awesome, but never really when they suck...
Recently I have heard many sad stories from my girlfriends that moved here same way( through K1-K3)...
And I should say my own relationship is not at the top of the mountain nowadays"in spite my maid outfits,SLim"...
What is going with American Men?Is it the crisis that makes you guys so insecure or whats up?
Or after 2 years interest is just gone for no reason?
I am not saying I am extra perfect, but I have been there for my husband 1000%,supporting through everything, loving and doing everything possible...However I think now that could be the reason...Maybe when you give it all to Men don't want it anymore?

Russia, Ukraine and Belaruswhere did every respectively 'pop the question'
My husband proposed to me in Hayat hotel(in California) very unexpected:)
We had a dinner in the restaurant inside hotel, because i liked food there and then he said he is taking me on the roof to show me the view.On the way to the roof he pulled out the key and opened the room,I was like what are you doing?!
but then i saw all room in roses and candles and him on his knee with a ring:)Love him!

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusDid you consider living in Russia?
I moved to the Usa because at that moment my husband was making very good income...
If I could turn things back I would make us both move to 3rd country. The reason why,is because then both people are in a same position and will understand and support each other better...
Usa has its positive side and then a lot of negative..there is no community support we have in Russia and its hard to live without it,once you have tasted what it is like...
Right now economy in USA sucks and it is very hard to get a job, which makes it extra hard to adjust to a new country...In Moscow situation is way better..People still are switching their jobs to a better ones...

I do not think i can afford a private school at this economy..Especially in Northern California area..The problem is that i would need school to give me an invitation ,so i apply for her student visa...Or another option is a tourist visa, but then she can stay here only for 3 months right?
Thank you guys for trying to help!

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusHow to find a school
Hey Guys,

I have a question, which probably is not for this forum, but maybe you can help me.
I want to bring here for a few months my niece from Georgia-country,not a state!!!She is 11 years old and is not very good at english. The whole point is to get her into an american school ,so she learns english.
Do you have any experience with getting kids into school without green card or citizenship, but with a student visa?
Also how fast kids get used to english speaking community?
Please, share any knowledge you have about this topic...

Thank you!!! helpsmilie.gif

I've heard you can't buy shoes as a present, that it brings bad luck to the receiver. Also heard that if at family dinner a fork falls to the floor, and unexpected guest will arrive hungry.

I think the bad luck are home shoes"tapochki"cause you wear white ones when you die...shoes are fine to give or recieve:)))at least i am open to that:)))I dont believe in any of them, except for broken mirror, since i have experienced bad consequences myself...

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusTime to file for removing conditions

Welcome back!

Sounds like you've been super busy! I hope you'll share some of your stories and adventures when you get the time.

For removal of conditions, as Gary said, just download the form, print it out, and that's about it. Not too much of a process. The Guides section on here can help too. Make sure you come back if you have any questions or anything.

Have been super busy, but in a good way.I am now as independent as I used to be back home so i am happy:)))Still not crazy about the states but at least can enjoy it now:)))It takes 3 years I guess to get used to it.Then I have not been in Russia since last summer,so probably if i went back i would change my mind:)
Working here is not fun:)))People are mean and jealous lol
Maybe I did not have the best experience and hopefully I will also change my mind about this topic..
It all started making sense though after a while:)I kind of figured out the"culture" in some ways started liking it..for example"personal space"one and not discussing personal stuff at work...but still miss my family badly...And nobody wants to move here they have it pretty good back home...
anyway thank you so much for the info i will start filing papers and promise to come back and share more details:)))

Russia, Ukraine and Belarushow have your RUB wifes changed if any since coming here

Hello Everyone, I am amazed you guys are all still here 7 years later:)))

Glad to see you are still happily married!

Things my husband always points out, why he loves me:

-I have no problem admiting if I am wrong and apologizing for it.

-I never give him shitt for working late hours or weekends(Why would I?He is trying to provide for his family).

-I never talk shitt behind his back (Why would I?I chose him!)

-I thank him for his hard work all the time, I really do appreciate it a lot.

-He says I am a great mother, because I refuse to hire a nany and do it all by myself.(btw we had a baby just 5 months ago)

-I cook, but so does he(I am a lucky girl)

Things he complains about:

-I time him in a bathroom lol He takes forever hahaha

-I watch his health and dont let him eat fat italian food

-I ask too many questions at the same time

- I always know when he lies

That being said, in last years we had ups and downs, but i feel very much home now.

I notice more and more, what is wrong with Russians.

For example:Its common to ask personal questions like:"How much does your husband makes?"

My answer:More than yours:D

Hope I didnt make too many typos, sleep deprivation...

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Air France from Moscow to San Francisco
So at the end I made it but if you ask how...
My plane to Paris was delayed 35 minutezs moreover instead of terminal 2C it landed in 2b which means my way to the 2E was even longer.I had to get a shuttle bus then elevator and run then train and again run.anyways boarding was over when i ran and how i get on the plane?short skirt saved me:)i asked and they called car for me to take me to the plane and delayed whole plane for me!!!By the way plane was empty and i had 3 seats to sleep on:)
But My man got call from air France telling i was rejected for the transit visa-which i did not even need by the way..And he had problems meeting me.anyways people air france sucks...I will next time go big time for Aeroflot!

I have flight from Moscow to Paris and then SAn Francisco.
The thing is the lay over in Paris is only one hour and I stress about it,because I need to change my terminal from 2C to 2E in that timing.

Anyone ever done it?Any suggestions to make it easier and be in time on the board?

And another question:

I read that I can have 2 bags each 23 kilos with me,do I have to Paty for that another suitcase with 23 kilos?Or both ones are included in flight?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical Exam Question

The only way being on her period will affect the medical exam is if a vaginal exam is required. If not she'll be fine. Go ahead and confirm this with your doctor. Good luck.

Is there anyway a clear list of what is actually required and what not? Could you please post some links with more about what is going to be required, and how they decide on that kind of particularities.

I don't think I've seen anywhere in written statement that they should have a look there.

I did test this week and never been asked if i had periods or not.I dont think it somehow effects since they do only blood check up from vein.and they check only for Hiv and sifilis!
But so you dont stress just call the clinique and ask them if it is ok.also you have whole 2 month time after you recieve and envalope to do the test so whats a problem at all to choose time when is better for her.I just posted my experience from medical exam you can read it i put all details.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWhat paperwork for Interview in Moscow will we get back?

Hello,
My fiance just went through Moscow last month.
They did not ask for all the evidence, but asked to see some of it. They kept a couple of the documents, but not all of them.
I have made copies of everything just in case.
The best of luck
David

I have my interview k1 in moscow on 17th of august.lets check up together if we did all right.
We figured some mistakes that lawyer missed and now he sent me whole new package.Affidavit of support must be notarised!and also she will need original of ur birth certificate and if there was a devorce then that paper notarised.
I heard they take original of affidavit and all papers.maybe u can leave there notarised copies of birth certificate and devorce..i also have bank letter in a copy i want to give them copy because alex might need original.Same with a letter from work, since it might be needed later for Cv.
KotenochekFemaleRussia2007-08-11 12:49:00
US Embassy and Consulate Discussioninterview

iF YOU FILED k1 , you will need the original birth certificate to get married in the states
and divorce certificate ( if you have one ) , hope you didnt send those , or I hope for you they will exchange it for the copies at the interview

If you have copies you should notarise it for interview anyway. But they ask for original of the birth certificate but if you submitted it at first place should not be a problem since original is called original to be one and only.
I am taking copy of devorce decrease of my man notarised.also you will need forms DS230 part one and 2
You need ds 156 to fill out online and then print it out. and 156K filled out in native language
Medical test in a sealed envelope and vaccination form.
Birth certificate of fiancee original and copy,
copy of a passport
2 pictures 3X4 for medical test and 5X5 for interview all colour ones
100usd at interview
you still need to understand paperwork because it is explaining where and how you can arrange your medical test.good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTAX FORMS AT EMBASSY INTERVIEW

Thank you so much, guys!

Another question--does it cost anything to expedite these forms?

Also--how long would it take to get them if I expedited the process? I'm asking because I need to DHL these forms to my fiance two weeks from now.

Also, the local IRS office i looked up online said that it can send out tax transcripts but only in hardship cases. It said: (Verifiable hardship cases; hurricane damage, medical emergencies, etc)

Would my situation, if explained to them, fall under the hardship criteria? :-s

Dhl takes around 4 days. But i think they also have urgent delievery just costs more.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMy Medical Exam Experience in Moscow!

For her K1, the male MOM doctor made her take it all off, and was quite degrading about it.

That's so terrible. I hate when doctors abuse their power. You would think after so many years of school they would have learned decent behavior.

I must say he did not do anything rude and acted just like any doctor..In Russia is common since the best ginecologysts are male...so women kind of used to it..Hope i was not the only one he made take top off though...lol
Maybe i am so special...lol

You don't need the extra vaccinations to enter on the K-1, but it will make life easier when it comes to adjustment of status. I instructed my then fiance to ask the copy at her medical at MOM and it was no problem to get it. We used that document for our AOS and didn't need to visit a civil surgeon here for the vaccination supplement.

DS-3025 is the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet that says for use with DS-2053.

There is a statement at the bottom of DS-3025 instructing the examining physician to give a copy of that form to the applicant. If MOM didn't give you a copy, then their practice has not yet improved enough!

I don't think it has anything to do with MOM. People from many other clinics (Russia and other countries) did not know to ask for it and did not receive it.

Did you get a second copy of all vaccinations to keep for yourself? (DS-3025 form) You will need that when you adjust status (apply for green card) in the US. Again, read the good suggestions in the Russia regional section.

I been told i dont need vaccinations for K1 i did it in case.do You think they could still ask a copy?I will make in case, better to have it than not.thanks for advice so much appreciated!
