My Myla is a good woman driver smile.gif Her greatest achievement so far was picking me up from Tampa International Airport. She missed her exit ( The GPS screwed up because of the construction) but she got there without incident and no scratch on her new car.

Also, I would like to share the good news. She passed both her written and skills state board exam today for FL CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant ). Now she waits for her Philippine nursing papers to be evaluated so she can take the RN state board for her nursing license to be registered here. The CNA course did help her to be re-introduced to the nursing world after leaving that profession 10 years ago. I am just so proud of her.

WOW what a great achievement!!! Congratulations Jom!!! Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks! She actually worked in the Operating Room for 8 years so she has seen what the body looks like inside with all the blood that comes with it smile.gif

Hello, sis Myla! Sorry, haven't been here for so long. Been real busy lately. So how's your driving? I bet Joe appreciates your help (with the driving)... Have you done any "Filipina driver" moves yet? whistling.gif Last time I drove, I tried to beat the red light for like 3 times... my passenger was just mellow about it... devil.gif

Hi Again Mae. My driving is doing great. I have already driven the interstate alone twice and I felt like I won the Lottery, hehehe. I consider it a great accomplishment. Yes, I have been helping Joe a lot driving because he is just 2months post-op and in fact he still uses a pillow to rest his right arm while driving because the car motion is too much for his shoulder if it is a long drive. Because I have not really driven in the Philippines, I have no Filipina driver moves, lol. Although , one funny experience, I drove alone going to Walmart and I was probably about 100 yards from the traffic light going 45mph. The light turned yellow and I just hit my brakes, believe me I was almost in the intersection when my car completely stopped. I had to back up a little bit, hehehe. When I told Joe about it, he told me I actually had time to cross the intersection before the red light. Well, my next drive alone, it happened again but I didn't stop and just went thru.

I am still learning a lot and Joe is a great teacher. On our way home, Joe tricked me and I had to drive down Montgomery( I-65) , AL where the traffic was really bad. It was an 8 lane interstate road and my knees were shaking, hahaha. But I survived and Joe just kept telling me I had to keep driving to deal with that kind of traffic. So far so good, no dents on my car yet and I am getting mroe confident each time.

BY the way Mae, you know pala Thenderlyn? She is married to Jason and also from Colorado. We know each other online a few years back. We only found each other again in Friendster.

Take care and keep in touch. Tomorrow, Joe and I with our fellow VJr's near us are going boating in the Gulf of Mexico. It will be great.

Myla

Just a change of topic since I have no video to share. I saw Gov. Sarah Palin last Sunday at The Villages for her rally. I was curious and interested to see her and my husband indulged my wishes when he received an email about her rally. It was an outside event , it was hot and about 60,000 people . We had to walk for about 4 miles because the designated parking lot was already full and we had to park somewherelse but it was worth it. I still can't vote but I like her. One observation though while she was speaking, she really is authentic. Its like, what you see is what you get. I was happy to see and hear her in person. I am not one of those who attend rallies when I was still in the Philippines but she caught my interest.

Just want to share this experience. I know there are a lot of members here who don't like her and talk trash about her in the other threads so I am requesting them, if they happen to read this to not reply to this post with a mean and rude comment about her.

Thank you.

Incredible. One comment though, I believe the tune ( Im not a big music fan so not sure how you call it) of the song given to her was too low for her voice because Charisse has that high powerful voice. Maybe they could have move the tune one step higher and it would be perfect.

Nonetheless, I had goosebumps listening and of course misty eyed at the end of the video. Great job .

Subject: Guts and Balls

Subject: Guts or Balls?

There is a medical distinction. We've all heard about people having
guts or balls, but do you really know the difference between them?

In an effort to keep you informed, the definitions
are listed below:

GUTS - Is arriving home late after a night out with
the guys, being met by your wife with a broom, and
having the guts to ask: 'Are you still cleaning, or
are you flying somewhere?'

BALLS - Is coming home late after a night out with
the guys, smelling of perfume and beer, lipstick on
your collar, slapping your wife on the butt and having
the balls to say: You're next, Chubby.'

I hope this clears up any confusion on thedefinitions. Medically speaking, there is no
difference in the outcome, since both ultimately
result in death.

Boobs vs. Willies

A family is at the dinner table. The son asks his father, 'Dad, how
many kinds of boobs are there?'

The father, surprised, answers, 'Well, son, a woman goes through three
phases.

In her 20s her boobs are like melons, round & firm.
In her 30s t o 40s, they are like pears, still nice but hanging a bit.

After 50, they are like onions'.
'Onions?'
'Yes, you see them and they make you cry.'

This infuriated his wife and daughter, so the daughter said, 'Mom, how
many kinds of 'willies' are there?'

The mother smiles and answers, 'Well dear, a man goes through three phases also.

In his 20s his willy is like an oak tree, mighty and hard.
In his 30s and 40s, it is like a birch, flexible but reliable.
After his 50s, it is like a Christmas tree'.
'A Christmas tree?'
'Yes --- dead from the root up and the balls are just for decoration'

This is the reason why we need "tabo" in the bathroom in case there is no TP, lol. Love this video!

About the bickerings, I can only hope what PW said would actually be taken seriously . When I joined VJ, everything is just peaceful. Now, it is different and if you post your sentiments and tell them to stop they actually reject you and believe they are doing the right thing. I think its not only the water and rice but the absence of " tabo" lol.

Going back to the Olympics, the Chinese gymnasts looked so young one even looked like 12 years old. There have been accusations but so far are not supported by evidence. Asians look younger than caucasians anyway.

PhilippinesTo flee poverty, Filipinas marry foreigners
I sleep good at night knowing my wife didn't marry me to flee poverty.

She will be 40 this year and Im 47, we will probably feed each other when we get old lol.

Last November, her Mom sent her money to buy a laptop as her Christmas present from her family back in the Philippines.

Recently, my mother-in-law sent her money again to pay for her NCLEX - RN online review course with Kaplan University. She insisted that when it comes to her daughter's education , they are responsible. My wife is a nurse and a lawyer but she left everything to be with me.

I am sharing this here because my wife is a Filipina but she didn't marry me to flee poverty because honestly, her family has more money than me.

She just received her first American paycheck today and I was so shocked when she told me she would send my three daughters ( even my stepdauther ) checks because it has been her tradition to share with family her every first paycheck. She will also send ( for the first time ) to the Philippines money, to continue her tradition. For the boys, toys will suffice.

I feel so blessed that I married a very generous woman, so just like her Mom.

PhilippinesBribes in the NBI
If I were her, I will report the guy to the head of the NBI Office concerned. Bribing somebody is already rampant in the Philippines giving it a very bad image.Someone here even recommends it ( if you grease the right hand you get results fast) which is just horrible. Tell your fiancee to see the head of the NBI office where she is applying for her certificate and explain her predicament.
