That's the most current form they have right now. I also used the same form and sent my application on 12/12/07. My check has already been cashed and I've already received my NOA1, so I don't see any problem with using that form.

Has your check even cleared yet? My check cleared within 24 hours after the website showed that they were already working on the date my application was received. They received my application on 12/16/07 and their website showed that they were processing applications received on that date on 1/31/08. And also, my NOA1 was dated 1/31/08.

Don't get your hope up too much about the 1 month NVC processing time though, it's an exception and not the norm. And even if you do get your case completed within a month, there's no guarantee that you'll get an interview date immediately. Look at our case, 2 weeks after completion and still no interview date. I've seen other people wait as long as 3 months to wait for an interview to be assigned, then you will still need to wait for the actual interview date which is usually around 1 - 3 months from the date your interview was scheduled. Of course this differs depending on the consulate, but I will still recommend going with both petitions if USCIS forwards them both to NVC.

When both the I-30 and K-3 are approved at the same time they don't necessarily forward the I-129F to the NVC. This happened in our case. We were real clear upfront about K-3 intent, so I think they held the I-130 pending adjustment of status.

The kids situation has changed and they'd really like to go for the CR 1 at this point. Today I called the USCIS and got through to an officer that pulled up the case and made a request to have the I-130 transferred to the NVC. I had made two previous calls about this and got no help, so this is good news. We shall see what happens now. He couldn't give me a time frame for it to be sent to the NVC. They're going to go ahead and interview for the K-3 in Bangkok next week.

I also made it clear with USCIS that we wanted a K-3 but they still forwarded both petitions to the NVC. Now we are just waiting for an interview date for the CR-1 and the K-3 interview date will be on July 28. I don't think you should drop either unless you already have interview dates for both.

i am about to sign the DS form too but i wanna ask if why NONE in item 8? isn't her prev surname was Asimov and that is what she should write ?


I also say that ASIMOV should be in item 8 and NONE in item 9. The form is asking for the applicant's maiden name which is Asimov and not her mom's. Don't confuse a middle name with a maiden name. In the US a middle name is actually a second name while in the Philippines it's considered the same as the maiden name. The questions are not redundant and are really self explanatory.

I just called NVC today and was told that they received my I-129F on 5/27/08 and was forwarded to Manila on the same day!! They have also received my I-130 on 5/28/08. I'm not sure why there's a day difference, but I don't really care!! All I know is that I'm happy!! Hope all of the other December filers get approved soon.

Yes, they only touched my I-130. Maybe it was just by accident that it got touched but I believe some people had their I-130 approved first before their !-129F, so maybe I'm going that route.

I got my NOA 1 for my I-129F application today!! I sent it on 2/6/08, USCIS received it on 2/8/08, and the notice date is 2/11/08! That's about 1 business day from receipt to notice! Now I am officially on the K3 route! biggrin.gif And yes, I can track it online already! I'm so happy happy!

I was actually surprised!! I was getting ready to wait a couple of weeks before being able to track it online. I hope this is a sign of good things to come. USCIS should be receiving my I-129F today so I'm hoping I'll receive the NOA1 in the next 2 weeks.

Hello December filers! Long time lurker here! My check for our I-130 has cleared yesterday, 2/1/08. I'm still waiting for the check image to show online though but at least were past the first hurdle! The Chicago Lockbox received our application on 12/16/08 and was only stamped with USCIS CHICAGO LOCKBOX on the signature portion, no specific person signed for it. I'm sure your checks will also be cashed soon! biggrin.gif

Well, for security purposes, tech gadgets are not allowed in the USEM premises. Just leave your cellphone at home, in the hotel or if you have someone that will wait for you outside USEM.



As far as I know, any US Embassy in any Country is consired American soil so it's understandable that USCs will always have preference.

No, USE refused to cancel the K3 since the visa was already issued when we found out that the CR1 application had been forwarded to USE. My wife entered the US with me on her K3 visa and went back to Manila for her CR1 interview. She will be back here on 10/16/08 using her CR1 visa and I'm really excited about it! smile.gif

Welcome to the "waiting for an interview date" club! I'm still waiting for mine also. I've seen someone here who got their case completed on 6/19 and is still without an interview. I heard that August is already fully booked as of now as far as Manila goes so if we're lucky we should get an early or mid September interview date.

We got an interview date for our CR-1, it will be on 9/22/08 at 6:30 AM. Also, we received my wife's K3 visa today, 7/31/08. We should be in the US by next week!! kicking.gif



First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS for the successful interview. Onizuka, im just curious are you still going to continue and wait for the September 22, for your wife's CR1 interview? I believe CR1 has more advantage visa privileges’ rather than K3. Thanks.





We're doing both. My wife is here in the US now on a K3 visa and will fly back next month to Manila for her CR1 interview.
