CSPA indeed may help the younger once your age has been freezed in at the time of the i-130, then you are good. However, if you had past the age of 21 and was on the petition then, it will take a while...can even be 5-6 yrs before a visa becomes available.

Took my sister 4.5 yrs before we heard anything and only 2 of the 4 children getting thru on the petition. The other 2 priority date going to be something different and at a later date.

CaribbeanGoing to Jamaica to meet his family... Any Advice will be appreciated.

Hello everyone!

So I'm back from JA and I had a wonderful time. So here's a recap of my experience. Let's begin with the good. First, the country is beautiful. I truly understand why some people call Jamaica paradise, the grass is so green, the mountains are beautiful, and the water is so clear and blue. It's absolutely breathtaking. Second, the people. Everyone was really friendly in Jamaica, I didn't run across one person who wasn't helpful or mean. However, that could also be because they wanted my money. Lol. Third, the food. I didn't really like most of the food I ate. I tried ackee, saltfish, dumplings, yams, etc. and I hated it. However, I did like the jerk chicken, pork, oxtails, rice and peas. Fourth, his family. His family was so welcoming and they really made me feel at home. We held an engagement party on Saturday and I had a blast. There was tons of music, food, love, and laughter. The evening was really special.

Now for the bad. There was only two things that put a damper on my trip the mosquito's and the lack of A/C. The mosquito's loved me, Ithink I got bitten at least 20 times in the first three days. After that I got insect repellant and they were so bad. Lastly the lack of A/C. Jamaica was hot!! I found myself constantly standing outside in an effort to catch a cool breeze. I don't know how the people that live there do it in the summer.

Other than that, I had a great trip and it was wonderful to spend time with my fiance in his hometown and to see where he comes from. I'll definitely be going back.

Good to read the report. The good definately outwayed the bad. lol. Next time you can get a fan and mosquito repellant lol. Glad you enjoyed yourself though and is willing to go back to our little home on the isles. :)

Caribbeanwhy is an express no-impediment taking forever
Darling NIkki, that is what I tell them. Unless you GO THERE, RAISE NOISE to enforce a sense of urgency, RGD will not respond. They take their own time and do things.

Other # I tried and spoke to Customer Service (876)749-0550 and 876-619-1260.

But visiting and speaking to a Supervisor will get things done faster. Bring all your documents and ID in case they ask.

Thank you dear. They are really a mess. I'm going to do as you suggested, hopeful it works.

Also read all the above responses to see if those can work.

Caribbeanwhy is an express no-impediment taking forever
My husband paid express for our marriage certificate and 3 months later we received it!

It is taking forever cause RGD really sucks! Really and truly.

I called, emailed and called. I had to ask hubby to go back down there and explain the great urgency of the certificate. Then I flew down there and literally stood on the desk for them to hear me.When the Supervisor of all Supervisors came out to assist me personally, I waited 2 more hours, then she said, "oh we located the record. You will get it from our courier in 24 hours." On a Saturday morning, we did receive it.

I suggest your fiance goes back, show the interview letter and respectfully demand it. You are also entitled to a refund so go early cause the mek up face woman close the refund window at noon.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaYardies - How did you meet your SO?
Saw my husband on a jamaican christian dating site. (He had no clue I was living in Jamaica and he is so not a computer person). his sister-in law created a profile for him and he sent me a message (first girl he saw on the page with face picture).

Anyway, a month passed and I ignored his cordial messages. (Was not ready for no long distance r/ship).

A month later when I went to delete my profile cause I could not bother with that dormant site anymore, I saw the message still inbox, looked at his pic and sure nuff he was christian (dressed like one too). told him I will delete my page soon so he should send me IM or his #.

A week later he sent me his #.

I called him that night 2009 (he had no clue it was me until next day I sent him pictures). Turned out he is from my neighborhood back in Portmore. We grew up together. And he attends my sisters' church.

Told my sister to check him out. They met. Said he was a good decent christian man and she and him became good friends. She gave me the ok.

Fly to Jamaica about 3 months later and went on a date. Never ever ever looked back. Talked every single day.

Asked me to marry him 3 times. On 3rd time I saw he was serious and though our relationship was young, I said yes. NO REGRETS!

I flew home every 2-3 months since then.

We got married 2/2011.

I married the BEST MAN!

Waiting on Approval letter from NVC now.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Thanks to digicel so we could maintain out LDR. Very difficult but we love each other so much and miss each other liek crazy.

God will work it out though. cause what God has joined together, no man can put asunder.

One thing about the mail system is say a prayer and hope it reach on time business. Regular mail a dead stock sometimes especially when sending IMPORTANT documents.

I did registered mail and within 4-5 business days, He got it. Just have to pay a likkle more to get quality.

Well sounds like it is on its way to move forward positively. Interview 1 did not go well..ok.

But you will still need to update fingerprints...go ahead.

Then your husband received an approval letter...sounds good.

And interview 2 to come...whats the problem?

Sounds positive so far to me.

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaHow safe is Kingston?
Oh boy... Sus and Shan already put the icing on the cake. Dem a gwaan like seh the Kingston Embassy inna de middle a Tivoli or Stand Pipe. Nothing will happen to your fiance. Rest assured.

Juta at the airport is a much better way of getting there. You can choose one of the doctors listed but from personal experience, I liked Dr. Michael.

And listening to couple dub plates, visiting a few times, and reading sensationalized newspaper about YAAD- Kingston in particular, does not give one the Presidential expertise on the topic of Jamaica. Hate that! Some of Kingston is safe while other parts are not. Where the Embassy is should not be ANY worries because of its geographic location which is quite far from the 'unsafe' areas. :bonk:

When this is all over Mr. Phillipines, you and finace/wife need to take a nice trip down there for vacay...just a recommendation.
