but have heard many people say they got denied getting a stamp because that's what the extension letter is for, and then if you do get a stamp they take away the extension letter which some people have had problem with that.

I don't think so, but again, I think it depends on the case you are having, its likely a case to case basis! Like Bigdog stated, it is an addition to, NOT an exchanged nor a replacement of an extension letter.. Just a friendly reminder that, " Prevention is ALWAYS better than cure!" ;) :)

Yeah, same here, actually I just got back last 2 months ago from my home country (PI) and everything went fine specially at the POE (Detroit)...They asked for my green card (expired), valid passport and of course the original extension letter ( proving I filed the ROC), mind you, I was out for 4 long months..Also, I would suggest to have your valid passport stamped with I-551 at your local Immigration field office to have a peace of mind, just in case! Anyway, there's nothing for you to lose to be ready all the time!

P.S. When I went to my local immigration field office here in SC, I remembered one of the IO's told me that the " extension letter" given to us is NOT really a 100% guarantee that you would be admitted back to the US or that the POE will let you in, ( I guess, it depends on the case, Im not sure :unsure:) Also she said, its good to always have a BACK-UP or sort of a supporting document (s) from the USCIS ( asides from what have been issued to you) and that she referred to having the valid passport stamped with I-551 especially if you travel abroad !

I've personally traveled outside the US with a physically expired green card and it was a smooth one. I brought my passport, green card, and original extension letter although no one ever asked for the letter (make sure to still take it with you). Have a fun trip!

Hello guys...My fiancee has just received the NOA2 hard copy and 2 days after he also received the MNLXXX case number and then he forwarded it to me..Now, Ive got my case number but still waiting for the USEM to send me the papers..Is it possible for me to pay (in advance) the Delbros or should I have to wait the USEM papers?
Should I also have to follow the same procedures for the medical appointments?

Thank you so much..Hope anyone can give/share their opinions regarding this matter..

Yeah I was able to do it before ( just few months ago)... I brought " toyo" and "bagoong" when I get back to Manila .Please try to pack it very well with papers ( I used manila papers sis) and then wrapped it with some of your clothes ( shirts). I was flying with Cebu Pacific Air from Dumaguete to Manila....Please make it sure na hindi sya ng masyadong stinky..Makakalusot ka rin kicking.gif ..hehehehehe..

Ive just got an email from NVC tonight,a replied from my inquiry and called them too ( to confirm) right after I have read the letter and yes, indeed, its TRUE.....The packet 3 is on its way to USEM Manila..

Hey fellow VJ'ers, I just want to ask/ clarify if the size of the paper we will be using in priting the DS forms really matters? In my case I used " long" size of bond paper to print all the DS forms..just worried lately if this size is acceptable at USEM...has anyone used this size before?


Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Actually Im not really sure and familiar with the required documents for cr-1 applicant since I am a K1 (not K9, hehehe) but just want to give you this link which shows the required documents from one of our fellow Fil VJ member..Hope this will help and guide you...Goodluck..Are you done with your medical at SLEC? As far as I've know, SLEC would really ask for the case number and that case number will be given by NVC and that is after your petition from USCIS has been approved ( your NOA2)..Besides SLEC staff will be asking/looking for the NVC letter and appointment letter from the USEM..So why in hurry?
Ive read from some other posts here that having medical exam without appointment letter is okay and yeah they allowed it but SLEC just give ONLY 1 month as its validity from the time it ws being taken....Tell your fiancee not to worry, everything will goes fine with her..She just have to stay positive and healthy....May suggest her to take vitamins, eat more fruits and vegetables, drink more juices/water and milk ( just the same thing I did)...I hope these things will help you and ur beloved fiancee..Goodluck and God bless to all of us here on our visa journey...

I just paid the visa fee last week at BDO Dasma..The teller will just give you the blank DS 157 form which has a validation at the back for the payment uve made at BDO, the same validation you have in your receipt.. Id still brought the one (ds 157 ) Ive filled up online but theyre not accepting it...

NOTE: Be sure to keep your receipt and validated ds 157 in a safe place cuz the teller told me that once its lost it might be used by other person..Goodluck and God bless us on our journey..

Well sure no problem, I would share with you also the questions that were being asked from me by the pre- screener and CO..My interview experience I've had this morning was really great.I could say, I was very much lucky and blessed to have a very nice and approachable pre-screener and CO..I was interviewed at window 17 ( pre-screener). She just asked me the following questions ( wag kayong matakot dito sa stage na to kasi usually most of them asked in Tagalog kasi mga Pinoy sila < i mean the pre-screeners).

1. What is my name?
2. Whats the name of my petitioner?
3. How and when did we met?
4. Does your fiance work?
5. What is his work?
6. When did you met him in person? where?
7. Did you work abroad before?

Then after that she asked my identification papers: BC, CENOMAR, NBI... and the affidavit of support ( I gave her these docs: 2007 ITR, W2, latest 3 pay stubs, 401 K)..Few minutes after that she looked back at me and smiled.. I was told to go back to the blue chairs and wait for my number to be flashed again on the query board for the final interview with the american CO..I waited again for more than 1 hour... American CO's starts their office at 8 am, well im done with my finger printing and pre- screening before 8 am comes but since there are some people ( the immigrants applicants under cr1-ir1/2 , etc) whome given an appointments at 6 :30 am ( Mine is 7 am), so they were the ones who were being interviewed first by american CO's..Time comes when my number flashed again on the query board ( 9:10 am) with the window # where you will be interviewed. I stand up and went to the assigned window/room (window # 30).. Theres one USEM staff who will guide you there. I was being instructed to wait and sit dowm ( there are chairs placed right outside the door) since the door is still closed so it means the CO is still interviewing the person before me..After 5 mins, the door opened, the woman came out and time for me to get inside...Here it goes....AS i got inside I saw a short hair blonde woman in her mid-40's I think. I greeted her good morning and she greeted me back... YOu will be asked to raise your right hand and swear that all the things/ words ur gonna be telling / saying to them are all true and correct.. She started to check all of my documents and then asked me the following questions : ( It is just all about my fiance and me)

1. Whats the name of your petitioner?
2. How did you met him?
3. Was he married before?
4. Does he has kid(s)? How old is she?
5. Do you know the name of his first wife? Whats her name? ( she asked me twice with this question)
6. Do you the reasons why did they divorced?
7. What does he do for a living?
8. When was the last time you saw him?
9. Were you been married before?
10. What do you do for a living?
11. Where did you work?

Again she checked all the documents, making sure that everything is okay. She faced at her pc ,encode something and look back at me again..She smiled and said: Okay, YOUR VISA IS APPROVED !!! GOODLUCK ! ( Those were the last words I heard from her)I replied : Thank YOu So Much Ma'am ( with a very BIG smile on my face).That took only for 10 minutes. I go out from the room and wait for my number to be flashed again for the results at the releasing counter ( window #37)..
After 2 minutes, my number was flashed again and time for me to fall in line at window 37 for the results..and you kow what? YESSSSSSSSS, Ive got the famous color PINK...INDEED!!! ( (9:30 am). I was told then to pay air21 for the visa delivery fee.. ok, I paid P215.00 ( Im from Bacoor Cavite, not that away from Manila) so it isnt that much..So people who came from Visayas and Mindanao, you better have to prepare extra amount because the fees varies ( depends on where you came from).
To all of you who will be having their interview soon ,wish you the best and Goodluck! Relax, be confident with yourself and plz try to answer the questions the best you can..Please dont forget to ask guidance from HIM..HE really answered all my prayers..

And i had previous K1 visa applications also and previous marriage.So Consul officer told us that he is going to call us again after an hour.But we already spent an hour inside booth 44.My fiance was kind of an upset because CO told him they might get him his finger printings etc. He told CO that he needs to go to the hotel(in front of US Embassy) because the check out time is 12noon and we were not able to ask for extension .CO said okay and he will just call us after an hour because they need to call USCIS in USA about our cases.
I admitted my previous K1 visa applications and previous marriage and i have proof that marriage was terminated and previous fiancee visa applications were closed also.After us.. the lady waiting for us to get outside said thanks God because we got out from booth 44 after an hour.My fellow VJer dsreetom got an approval ahead of us and she spent few minutes inside the booth.
After 45 minutes.our number was called by a filipina assisting applicants before their interview with CO.

We got inside and the young and handsome CO said sorry if i kept you waiting,But we need to resolved the issues. So since she declared her previous k1 visa applications and it was all closed and DUI issues etc then its okay now..Congratulations and have a good life in USA.

We were very happy about it.Especially when he handed us a pink slip. Though he asked us a lot of questions.But most of the questions.. he asked it to my fiance.CO ask4d my fiance if how many brothers and sisters i have and he said 3 sisters though i got 2 sisters only. And he asked me if my parents are okay about getting married with him.And i said its okay wityh them though my father was deceased already.

He asked about my fiance's hobbies.I said hes into photography,sailing because he has a sailing boat and motorcycle riding because he has a harley davidson. My fiance commented about my answer to CO when he asked me about my previous marriage to an American guy .because he asked me 3 times and i always answered "it didnt work out" but CO accepted my answer also. He asked me if i will work in USA .i answered in my DS forms "NO" but i answered maybe i will work after the adjustment of my status.

He did read our emails..looked at our pictures together and snailmails.and affidavit of support .letter of intent.

We paid Air 21 for the delivery of my Visa and air 21 said they will deliver it within 3 to 5 days.We got out 11:30 am from US Embassy.

Right now we are still in Mandarin Hotel in Makati City and i might attend CFO seminar tommorow .I asked my fiance if i could join him next month because he wanted me to go by 3rd week of March.
