I was watching this show on the Discovery Channel about a private investigator who do these things all the time. He didn't get arrested or anything. Well, not to USCIS, but he did it at police stations to get police records, city hall, telephone companies...Or was it on ABC special? I don't remember, it was awhile back. The instruction form gives details on what to include in the affidavit. As for the finances, my wife and I do not have any to show either. I have just recently had her added to the cable and water bill. That's all you would need.
