K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Waiting for a response- February Filers	Hi All, I just recently sent in my I-129F to the Texas Lockbox on February 3rd. I sent in the G-1145 along with the packet, it has almost been 2 weeks and I haven't heard anything at all! It seems that everyone at least hears something in a week. Just getting a bit nervous that I don't know if they even got it! My check hasn't been cashed either. Anyone know how long the waiting period is right now? I hate feeling like this! And I didn't notice any February filers forums so I figured I would start a new one! My name is Nikki and my Fiancé Ben is from the UK. We have been together for almost 3 years! We are so excited to be starting the process and hoping it will be a smooth one! We are both new to this and any input or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! It can take up to a month sometimes, but usually people get it in a matter of days. Did you include the G-1145 form with the petition? Yeah, I did send in the G-1145. I'm going to give it until mid-week (Monday will be 2 weeks since I sent it) and then probably start making some calls just to see if they received it! Hopefully I'll be getting it soon! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Where to get married...	If you haven't had an email yet, how do you know you're at the Texas Service Center? Did you send it there instead of the Dallas Lockbox?   A lot of people tend to make that mistake. Hopefully the Texas Service Center will forward it on to the Lockbox on your behalf so it can be processed properly. You know, I realized that I put that on here but I haven't changed it yet! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Where to get married...	So planning a wedding when you don't know when it will be is a little stressful... But I have been trying to get ideas and one was a destination wedding. What I was wondering (because I know my fiancé will not be able to leave the US to get married) is if you can get married out of the state you live in on a K1? Ben went to apply for his social security number today and they told him that everything should already be taken care of and he should have it before the 24th (3 weeks after he arrived) I found this a little weird because I've read everywhere that you have to apply for one...anyone else hear or go through anything like this?? K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	I believe you!  How long was it from interview to visa in hand?     His interview was the 23rd and his visa was ready for pickup yesterday...so 8 days!   I can't  believe how fast he was ready to move! Jake and I didn't feel comfortable with two weeks notice or booking flights until the visa said, "Issued," so he had to wait two weeks after I left him to come--he comes on Saturday though. I hope Tropical Storm Arthur doesn't interfere with Cross-Atlantic flights!!! I know LHR to Newark flies over Nova Scotia, and they say the storm will be there by then.....   here's hoping!   He was practically ready to move when he had his interview! Lol. So all he was waiting for was the email saying it was ready. He got that email on Tuesday and booked his flight! I haven't heard about the storm!!!   Oh no!!! Hopefully it'll be ready to pick up tomorrow or Saturday! He is planning to fly over Wednesday! As soon as that Visa is in his hand he is booking his flight! Now if flights weren't so darn expensive! While we have been waiting for Ben's interview to roll around we have been finally making wedding plans!! We just booked it yesterday and we are getting married July 26th on a beach on Lake Michigan. I have an appointment to go dress shopping tomorrow, we have already booked a place for our wedding night and our honeymoon has already been booked!!! Now the 23rd needs to hurry up!!!! Lol!!! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	Ok, two things...CONGRATS TO EVERYONE BEING APPROVED!!    It is making me more and more excited for Ben to have his interview! And nervous! Lol! And second, I seen people talking about the affidavit of support and that is the only thing that really makes me nervous. See I have a household of 3 (my daughter as well) and I make just under the 125% for a household of three with just my normal income from work. But then I have my child support which puts me about 1000 over the 125%. I sent Ben a letter from my boss, like 5 or 6 paystubs, a bank statement with what we have in savings, and my child support statements. I didn't work much the year before due to a back injury so w2s wouldn't have looked very good! Also I had my dad fill out a affidavit of support as well just in case, but he doesn't have much proof of income because it is a pension and disability income! Jake got the same initial email as you guys did, but he replied to LondonInfoUnit as Sail0r did, and he got a response a few days later (bank holiday slowed things up) with the interview date.   That said, when he wrote back he said: "Thank you for your reply. I kindly ask that if possible I be given my interview date by email so I may make travel arrangements as soon as possible. I need my interview date for the K1 visa, case #...... etc etc" and his medical was after yours.   Did they tell Ben, in fact, that all paperwork was received? Yes the first email said we have everything we need to process your visa application. His medical results were in on 14th...so getting sick of receiving the same response he asked if they have even sent his letter out yet and if they have to please let him know his date. All very nicely and politely...this was the response we got yesterday. "Your immigrant visa appointment has not yet been scheduled. Once scheduled, notification will be sent to you on the same working day." I balled my eyes out on the way to work. I don't even know what to think anymore. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	Ok, so does anyone know what would keep the Consulate from scheduling an interview if they've had everything they needed including medical results for weeks!? Ben just got an email response saying they haven't even scheduled it yet!!! I don't understand why some people get their interview scheduled as soon as the medical results come in and ours have been in and nothing! I feel helpless seeing READY on ceac (plus seeing it update like 5 times) and my fiancé and I can't do a thing about it! I have been a mess! I was hoping he could be here no later than June 20th but that doesn't look like it is going to happen! It makes me not even want to go to my cousins wedding without him! They finally called my number an hour and a half after my first little ~desk meeting~ (they call you up twice once to grab all the paperwork confirm who you are, make sure you paid and do you finger prints! Make sure you have copy's of your birth certificate ect I was asked and didn't have one and my guy huffed around for a couple of minutes because he had to copy it himself!) The woman I had for the main interview was so happy smiley, when I walked over she was reading my file. It really paid off sending loads of proof of relationship, photos, emails, ect with my first packet as first thing she said to me was how sweet and funny we both were! Most of the previous applicants had been up at the window for 15-20 minutes being asked questions but my interview was around 7-8 minutes long a majority of it was me telling the story of how we met! She did test me on the dates me met and asked me what he did for work but that was all the questions she asked! She then smiled at me and said 'I'm going to advise that you get approved! Thank you' and then told me I'd get my visa delivered within two weeks and that I could leave! So bloody happy right now, I'm giving in my two months notice in at work tomorrow and hopefully booking a flight for the end of July! Yayyyyyy! Congrats! Ben is really bummed that he has to miss it! Other than just waiting for an email and his interview letter, we have just been trying to plan our honeymoon (we are going to the courthouse for the wedding) because that's what we want to be very special! After all this and all that we have been through we just want to be MARRIED! And to celebrate our love! So we are looking at cabins in the Smokies! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	No I thought of that, which is why Jake (the beneficiary) emailed them. I never contacted them myself. Maybe it's that we e-mailed them too soon--as soon as CEAC updated? They said they've received all forms and medical results, but that we need to wait for our letter. Perhaps they haven't scheduled our interview yet. It looks like most people received their letters 8 - 12 *working* days after the medical itself. Jake is terrified he will get in trouble for e-mailing them once more, but we said we would just wait the two weeks and try again if we didn't get our letter. Let's just hope they take some pity and give that date to us!   Well Ben had his medical two weeks ago and CEAC updated the 14th and the 15th, (plus I got the same email response on the 14th about having everything) so I would think that they have set a date already! And when I called them they told there was NO WAY they could tell me when it was, and that the only way to find out was to wait for the letter, which is BS obviously! Plus knowing that they sometimes send them out late really scares me!!! Why would they give it up easily for some but not others? Weird and frustrating.   I know! It is very weird that some people get it and some don't! It is beyond frustrating! K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	February 2014 filers	I used exactly that form you linked to and got a reply with the interview date less than 24 hours later - and a couple of days ago I got my letter in the post. I chose "I wish to know the status of my immigrant or fiancé visa application", if that helps!   Just say something like "Hi, I'm just wondering when my interview date for my K1 case is, as I completed my medical, readiness and DS160 a while ago. My case number is XXXXXXXXXX, kind regards, XXXXX" - that's basically all I said!   There was no difficulty or having to be persistent, for anyone to give me information. Try something like the above and see what happens? Good luck! So I got the same response that I did last time basically! His medical was the 9th and ceac has been updated 3 times since then. She told me there is NO way to look up or get an interview date by phone or email (yet she wouldn't even take my info, just my name) and that the only way was to wait for the letter.
