I'm sorry, but it's kinda funny. What kind of a person in the right state of mind would come to this forum and insult Americans, cause as far as i remmember one person in every single couple here is an American citizen smile.gif For a moment i even thought that he's trying to bullshit everybody and get a reaction. diablo.gif
We all get frustrated with waiting, red tape and being apart and want to vent. But i have never seen anyone who vents to Americans about hating Americans and asks for a coment after that. wow.gif

Still, thanks for the write up!

No worries. I just had a vaccination marathon this week, so needles aren't my friends now. smile.gif It was just their normal blood test, she just made me worry when she said "Stay still, don't move at all". I was like damn, make sure u poke that needle in the right place smile.gif I didn't even breathe. smile.gif

United KingdomLondon Medical - if anyone is interested
Hey,

Just thought i would post a review of my medical experience at Knightsbridge Office. I had it today at 10.50.
I was nervous all morning, so decided to leave earlier. Living in Oxford, i'm lucky to have a coach that stops near Oxford Street, so the doc's office not too far from there. I found the place easily.
They took my papers, told me to wait, then i filled in some questionaire and had to wait again. So i sat there all nervous ( don't even know why so nervous, i guess the visa process makes u freak out about anything) reading 2 months old Cosmopolitan. The nurse called me and i got even more nervous.
At first, she said that i've done great with vaccinations, but i didn't even need some of them, because of age. I wish i knew that before i paid 130 pounds to have 3 shots in one day. Oh well, what's done is done... I just wish the embassy didn't confuse people with all the vaccinations.
Then i waited again and later was called into X-ray room, answered couple of questions and was told to take all top clothes off and put that funny robe on. The guy put me close to some machine, hands behind my back in some weird position and gave me something to hold, still dunno what it was. The whole experience was weird anyway.
After that i had to walk to another room with my bra and bag in my hand, wearing jeans and a bathrobe and wait there. Thank God, there were no other people waiting. smile.gif
Then the doctor called me, asked me some questions, wrote something down and told that we would begin my exam. She sounded a bit like she was giving orders in the army. biggrin.gif I had to stand still and open my robe, she looked at the top part, then quck look at the bottom part, i guess to make sure that i'm a girl there too. smile.gif Checked my ears, throat, stomach, heart, lungs. Then i had to lay down and stay still while she stuck a long needle into my vein. Ouch! Boom, boom and it was done. She said i seemed to be fine and the exam was over, dunno why i was so nervous. It was quick and not too painful. I paid 170 pounds and they said the results would be sent to the embassy within 4 days.
All people were nice, the nurse explained everything about vaccinations and was very helpful. The X-ray guy was a bit of a joker too. And the doctor was talking to me all the time, askin about the wedding and stuff, i guess it made me less nervous. It was as pleasant experience as medical can be. No negative feelings

Just waiting for an interview date.
Good luck to everyone with medical appointments coming soon smile.gif

obviously one person's experience is no guarantee of another's, but -

at my medical they just asked me if I'd had chicken pox (I have), and made a note of it on my file; I didn't have to show a medical record to prove it (which was good since all my records are in Australia wink.gif )

there's no need to go to a private travel clinic and pay lots of money, either - I got MMR and DT on the NHS, so they cost me nothing smile.gif

I got MMR on the NHS too, but they wouldn't do Varicella or HIB on NHS, so i had to go private. Not to mention that later i found out that i didn't need bloody HIB i paid 50 pounds for, because it's not age appropriate anymore. headbonk.gif

Yeah, I've checked through the list and I think I need Td/Tdap, MMR and Varicella. I'll just give the print out to the nurse though, she'll probably know what the score is.

Stu

Looks like those are the right ones.
The biggest confusion is with HPV shot. It's 120 pounds here. I decided not to do it now, cause it's a 6 months vaccine. U have one, then one in 2 months and one in 6. So that would mean that i pay here and would have to pay again in america to get the last one. So i decided to do it there.

Today i had vaccinations done, and aparently i have wonderful side-effects of varicella and HIB.

Eek sad.gif

I've got an appointment booked next week to see my local GP to have the relevant jabs, not really looking forward to that. The sheet I printed out from the US Embassy in London suggested that Varicella wasn't available in the UK though? I'm sure I've had chicken pox but it isn't recorded on my medical records unfortunately.

Stu

I got it through private travel clinic. It's costly, but they do it. I had my medical today and turns out i don't even need half of the shots. sad.gif So check the ones u need for sure, for your age and stuff. Because private hospitals will even give u a shot of cyanide without even asking, as long as u pay for it biggrin.gif

1) Is there any more charges besides a courier charge at the Interview? (This excludes the charges for the Medical Exam)

2) I've seen mentioned a couple of times that we'll need to show a payment receipt of some sort at the Interview. Could you please tell me what this is and how we would get it?

3) We've sent several forms to the London Embassy, and even asked if they've received the forms. They ignore the question...... Do we need to bring all the requested form to the Interview? Is there someone we can talk to ask them what they have or have not received?[/quote]

I did my interview in London.

1) As far as i remember there's no other charges apart from courier charges
2)I think a payment receipt is a receipt for ur visa payment.
3)The packet 3 has a checklist. Some of those things need to be sent back to the Embassy and some of them u will have to take for the interview. Everything should be written in the checklist that u recieved from the Embassy.

Hey Nineta,

As I see u've just started with your K-1, so I just wanted to wish all the best luck to you. smile.gif
We sent our I-129F to California Service Center on Sept. 22, had no receipt and no news for over a month, called them 3 times, no help, they just said: if you don't get it in 90 days, call again... blah blah blah sad.gif
So i started to freak out and made him call again until we got any kind of help. He called today, the first person said the same as 3 times before. After he got mad and called again, explained that we didn't even know if they got it, the nice lady asked for our names, checked and then said that our case had been put in the computer yesterday and the receipt was gonna be sent. smile.gif))))
And btw, the USCIS webpage said that our case was supposed to be processed and receipts were supposed to be issued like 3 weeks ago. That's why i was worried that we were still without any news...

So get prepared to wait for a while before it gets processed, cause aparently California Service Center is a slowest one. sad.gif It took us like a month and a half, so good luck to you smile.gif
