Posts like this drive me crazy.

If I got a dollar for every time I posted something and got a negative reaction, I'd have been long gone to my retirement island in the south Pacific.

Don't let this drive you away from a place of support.

And people who feel it necessary to use PMs to be nasty are just dumb, IMHO.

I did not marry a quitter, you nagged me to join this site, not your not leaving me here alone Sweetness.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresEvidence Of A Bonafide Marriage
QUOTE (gemilina @ May 27 2008, 12:05 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
We just submitted our marriage license and a few emails over the course of our 1 1/2 yrs together before we got married. After that everything was fine. I doubt we even needed to send in the emails but thought that since I had them, why not send them. Granted I'm also born and raised in Canada and that's not a country that they are concerned about ensuring if marriages are real or not. I know in Canada there was a recent article in the Toronto Star talking about fraudulent marriages topping the list in India, Thailand and China. Canadian immigration officials have noticed that in India there are the same people seen over and over and over again in wedding celebration photographs. The article spoke of people renting 'guests' or 'relatives' for fraudulent marriages. An investigation team has now been deployed to those areas to look into things further.

I'm just mentioning this because if you come from an area where there are higher than norm incidents of marriage fraud, then you may want to provide additional documentation/evidence to support your marriage. It never hurts, although I wouldn't go nuts about it. If you come from a european country I doubt it's as big of an issue. It's a shame that some bad apples spoil it for those in legitimate unions.

My wife "Paris Heart" even submitted emails from the very first day we talked, and she even submiited all our paperwork and the translation invoices of when we tried to marry here in France. Its hard for foreign nationals to marry here in France, Im myslef is Algeria living here and going to school. She submitted so much evidence the envelope weighted 3 pounds. She submitted all of it, and with her job, she is the last person to try to pull off a fraud of any kind. But thank you for what you mentioned. It is a shame of a few bad apples spoil it all for us legitimate ones.

Is this still required for the I-130? I thought I saw on here that it wasn't but it is still listed in the checklist here. Thanks!

We didn't send anything in except our marriage certificate and we were approved with no RFE's. That may be because they were trying to reach a quota and rushing or that they didn't really need it. Err on the side of caution unless you really don't have anything. We knew that we would have joint bank accounts by the time they came around to asking for it, but they never did.

We over did it then, joint banking/savings accounts, joint credit cards, joint utility bills, life insurance on each other, and our French phone contract," I got for her to use while here". I hope she put in marriage certifcate!!! Need to make phone call quickly!!

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresProcessing Times
Hello all.
On the processing times with VSC with the K3 and the CR-1 I heard from my wife that the K3/CR1 have not changed in 2 or 3 months still posting showing as July '07, could this date indicate that they still have a few petitions ranging back to July 07?, and possibley why they still post as July '07, even though there have been approvals as early as March.

QUOTE (CJ Vasani @ Jun 6 2008, 01:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
so, amidst all the uncertainty regarding K3 processing and VSC, I decided to get on the phone with an officer after much hesitation. i was greeted by an equally hesitant, but helpful and courteous officer who looked into my case (didn't generate any touches). While i have no hope of getting anything for the next 3-4 months, she did express her frustration towards the K3 process by saying "I don't know why they got this new form in the first place, I guess they want your $$$". when asked about the processing times and why is there such a backlog for USCs to call their spouses, she explained that they have tied up with other types of applications and that backlog is due to clear, but they a lot of I-130 and I-129Fs waiting to be processed. Looking at my particular case, she said "oh my god! yours just came in." I was going nuts on the other side of the phone since I sent my application in March and got my NOA2 in the second week of March. If March = now, not sure what to expect. I explained that I am not looking to jump over the line in front of others that are waiting and that I am simply curious and want to set my expectations accordingly. 10 minutes on hold and about 20 minutes of conversation in which she had a hard time getting the computer system to pull up information.

Not productive, but i am left with hope that they will soon start to bang out the I-130s as H1s die off and K1s are de-prioritized.

I am not sure if this information is helpful at all to anyone.

I spoke to VSC today using RFE trick ....got a male officer ...oooh man he was rude and imaptient just looked at case number and said pending ...blah...blah.as you see on web site. Then i asked how long would it take ...etc? he said you just got to wait in line ..just be patient b/c there are thousands of applications in line to be assigned. to an officer...and I donot know what dates they are processing now?....etc

They all give vague answers ...donot know what the hell is going on ...?shameful to have such brain less ppl(donkeys) working there giving hard time for USC and their loved ones lol lol

Sometimes you get a helpful, intellgient officer, and sometimes a real jerk. Keep trying till you speak to a decent person. Your right, its shameful the way this process is.

I'm sorry to hear your situation my man. I have some experience with woman and I can tell you she has alterior motives possibly getting a green card or just to come to america. So you need to figure out maybe divorce is the right option you can not beg someone to be with you especially if she's always threatning you to be with other boyfriends. Doesn't look like shes a keeper. Don't get played man just trying to look out for you smile.gif

You mentioned she said this waiting is a waste of time??/ Waste of time??, its not a waste of time when your going to spend the rest of your life together, we all wait for approvals, but its never a waste of time. When Paris Heart and I cancelled our petitions, words flew back and forth, but nothing was ever mentioned of divorce or one of us returning to a EX BF or GF. We knew we will spend our life together as soon as we get over this hurdle. Im sorry but I think she is playing games with you, and no heart is built for game playing. I wish you the best. True love get you through anything.

I feel like just telling my husband I want to stop everything. I actually just started but our anniversary is very soon and we've been married almost a year. We messed up in the beginning so we had to start from the top. I tell you I am losing my mind! I do not know what to do anymore to feel more relaxed about waiting. I am worried because I see others who have been waiting at VSC for months or a year now and I am stuck there. This is really worrying me. I love my husband don't get me wrong but I do not know if I can do this. Should I throw in the towel and move to Pakistan or should I just give up on us all together?

Mahitab

DreamLove,
I feel your pain, but put yourself in my shoes. In January I filed the petitions, and waited and waited, and then had to cancel them, Now Im redy to re-file and play the waiting game AGAIN. Dont give up, it will all work out, I promise, hang in there. Your time will come when you least expect it to happen. Dont throw in the towel, cause if you do, you will regret it, and only cry into the towel you threw.
God Bless, and best of luck.

Anyone know the logic in approving K1 visa's ahead of cr-1/ir-1 ??
(PLEASE DO NOT BE MISINFORMED FELLOW VJ MEMBERS)
Not that I'm against it - EVERYONE deserves to be priority !! I mean that.

According to the timeline, it just seems although some folks(cir-1/ir-1) catageory filed before k1's. The k1's are getting approved much faster. Other than USCIS or whom ever GAINING an additional $1350.00 or more when the k1 arrives ( ie: adjust statuse, EAD.....etc..etc..$$$$$) -- I really see no need for them to be approved faster. I honestly believe this is unfair !!

But why would you keep a HUSBAND and WIFE apart so much longer than a FIANCE/FIANCEE ??

A husband and wife are already married and would like to start their lives (be togehter physically) as soon as possible especially when there are kid(s) involved.

Makes me wonder -- Do they care more about bringing families together or $$$$$$$$$. (Just a thought) biggrin.gif

Can some one please explain the logic in this !!
Maybe I'm missing something !!

There has been many conservations of your posted subject, and still nobody gives a straight answer. USCIS claims those K1 petitons are easier to process then K3 or the CR-1. We all understand what your feeling and stating. My wife Paris Heart and myself turned green with envy when K1 petitons were approved within a matter of a few weeks, while we waited 9 months for a approval even after we cancelled our petitions.
But we waited and made it, and you will too, just hang in there.
We all thought marriage was a higher commitment in life, but USCIS does not see it that way, and does not care about FAMILY.
Good luck and Gods speed on a approval.

She is Columbian, living in Jamaica. The Jamaican embassy is where she has to interview.

You are going to have to get through to the state department or the embassy and go see them to get it straightened. I don't want to be all gloom and doom; but knowing the JA embassy, if you deal with them, it will not be a quick resolution. It may even be a few weeks before you can get an appointment to see them. You MUST have an appointment to get into the JA embassy.

Does the visa actually say you are a Jamaican citizen or does it just say you received your visa through Jamaica? If it just says through JA, that probably is not an issue.

Male/Female is.

I hope you resolve it quickly.

The visa says that I am a Jamaica citizen....Gender: male....nationality: Jamaican

Have you tried to email or fax the embassy?? that would be much quicker then a info appointment, and maybe seeing a email or fax will have them correct the situation sooner!!
With this being their mistake there has got to be a way to get an earlier appointment. it's rediculous that USCIS is so callous. mad.gif

This is not the USCIS.......this issue is most likely Jamaican. Dealing with that embassy can be a real challenge.

You are right. I just feel like anything having to do with immigration is achingly slow and none of them feel the need to take care of thigns in a timely manner. It's not fair. They messed up, she shouldn't have to pay for that.

Fax or email the embassy. I've had better luck with emailing them or faxing them when I was doing paperwork for my wife with the U.S. Embassy Paris for her. Plus most likely will correct the situation sooner.

I've been reading this forum with great anxiety since we filed our I-130 back in May. I NEVER expected to get approved so quickly, but our approval notice was sent out today!!

I hope that your approvals are met with the same speed!

Barbara

To be honest , as much as this is wonderful news for you, it is still going to cause a lot of frustration to the people who have been waiting since August of last year and even those from January this year which is still alot of people. Congrats on your approval but try to think of the other peoples feelings on here, some things are just better unsaid. Congrats again though, did you do anything special, do you have a military spouse?

I have thought of your feelings and my post was quite empathetic. You all want updates, and I provided you with mine. My sole reason to post here was to give you a heads-up that things are moving in the right direction. I wish you all the best and, as I said in my previous post, a most speedy approval of your own.

As for your question -- my spouse is not military, and I am the petitioner. We did, however, use an attorney. I do not know if that makes a difference. Again, I'm only supplying you with information in the hopes that you get a better sense of things. This totally exceeded my expectations.

Congratulations, Attorneys' do not make a petiton processed faster, you just hit the lottery for the day. Again, congratulations and best wishes. I hope when Paris Heart and I re-file in a few weeks, we hit the daily jack pot.
