National Visa Center (Dept of State)HOW TO TRACK YOUR CASE FROM NVC TO EMBASSY

My case was shipped to the Embassy from the NVC on September 4. I am trying to track it using the directions provided here, and it does not workunsure.png . I track by shipper's reference at DHL and it yields nothingsad.png . So, I put it this way: EXP 03 SEP 2013A. The shipment destination: Algeria. I also tried: EXP 04 SEP 2013A, for both tries the website gave me: "No result found for your query"helpsmilie.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWILL MY FIANCE BE ASKED TO SHOW MY DIVORCE DECREE AT THE INTERVIEW?

I guess 'it depends'.

1.  you sent certified copy or original document, not a photocopy? I-129F doc requirements are photocopy only, for the submittal.

2.  it's great if all of the additional documents stay with the casefile as it travels from uscis to nvc to the IV unit.  sometimes, that doesn't happen, things are discarded.  rare, but it happens.

for certain, on interview day, must to show certified copy of divorce document.  if you have a buddy back at home, can get it for you, send it to you or your foreign fiance.  usually gotten at the county courthouse, the clerk's office (or whatever equivalent for your state), same day request when one goes in person.

Great advice. I appreciate it a lot!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionWILL MY FIANCE BE ASKED TO SHOW MY DIVORCE DECREE AT THE INTERVIEW?

I am away from home, and my divorce decree is not with me when I travel. When I filed the petition for fiance I was required to submit a proof that any previous marriage(s) have been terminated. Obviously I did send my divorce decree to the USCIS together with my petition. The petition has been approved, and we already have a case number from the NVC. Now, my question is: does my fiance need to have my divorce degree with him to show at the interview? It would not be a problem for me to provide it for him if I was at home, but I'm out of the country at this time. Do I really need to return home just for that piece of paper that may not be even needed? Please anybody whose petitioner was previously married, may I ask you to let me know if a proof of his/her divorce finalization was requested from you at the interview. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Thanks a bunch! I really liked your advicegood.gif ! I am for sure taking ityes.gif ! Also, I do appreciate the previous link you submitted about with all the possible questions. I do understand it can be anything, but knowing the basis helps to come somewhat knowing what to expect. dancin5hr.gif

Word of advice: we went for my husband's AOS interview Tuesday. He was so nervous! Poor guy. But the interviewer said she had a few more checks to do after we left so we didn't get an instant approval. On our way home about an hour later we got an email saying we were approved and his card was in production.

Nervousness is the biggest thing. Some nervousness can be expected. Your life revolves on their decision. But be yourself, be polite, professional. Dress professional. (This shows them you are serious about your intentions). Know your information. Know your fiance's information. If your fiance is going with you, that's even better. Show mutual intentions.

Good luck. Don't overanalyze questions or think too hard. Gut instincts are good.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK1 INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Hello everyonesmile.png ! SO, as it often happens for me; when I didn't really need one topic that I stumbled upon here about 2 weeks ago I didn't save it, but now after 2 hours of search for it I cannot find itsad.png ! I need it so much! So, the topic was something about K1 Interview Questions and Answers, and this one person gave a LONG list of all possible and imaginable questions and also good sample answers to them. In that article that he/she posted there were also a lot of practical tips on how to have a successful K1 visa interview. I really liked that post, but stupid meheadbonk.gif didn't save it!  Now am asking you to help me to locate it on this sitehelpsmilie.gif . THANK YOU!!!!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDHL Tracking From NVC to US Embassy

Hello everyone! Mine was shipped out on September 4, but I can't track it on DHL website by shipper's reference: EXP 03 SEP 2013A. I also tried inserting: EXP 03 SEP 2013B and EXP 04 SEP 2013A. None of them worked. The destination is Algeria.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 hard-copy notice undeliverable

Absolutely, Yelena,

It's a pleasure to help and let me know if I can be of further assistance. It is one weird process that is definitely nerve-wracking. Thank you for the good words and I also wish you the best !

Just a little update: Yesterday the status for our receipt number online at the USCIS website was changed to: On August 30, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that you filed. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service

Also, I called the NVC yesterday and was informed that they just got our case today, and that it will not be long until it will be sent to the Embassy. I was also provided with the case number dancin5hr.gif . So, now I'm gathering my supporting proof for the I-134, and my fiance is busy filling out the required formsyes.gif .

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 hard-copy notice undeliverable

Darnell, thank you for your valuable feedback.

EllinDiasporas, a special thank you to you for your detailed explanations and encouragement! I think me and you were both caught up in the details while the important things were/are still moving forward even though we might have thought otherwise. I am wishing you a very smooth, easy and a pleasurable interview with a positive outcome!

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 hard-copy notice undeliverable

Hello everybody! A few days back we faced the same problem that EllinDiasporas initially described when opening this new topic about mail forwarding not working to deliver NOA2. I am the petitioner, and I'm currently out of the country for a few weeks, as usual I set my mail to be forworded to my parent's address. It seemed to work fine for Request for Evidence letter from the USCIS that they received in July.  August 14 I saw an update on their website stating that they have mailed to me a noticed that my petition has been approved. Later, on August 22, another online update that the package was sent to the National Visa Center. I have received no NOA2. Today I saw the exactly same status change online for as EllinDiasporas has posted. Mine states: On August 29, 2013, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

So, here is what I did, and if you can suggest for me more I will appreciate it greatly.

1) I updated my address using their online form at https://egov.uscis.g...i/go?action=coa

There will be a question as to your own status in the U.S: a visitor, a permanent resident, other. I chose OTHER because there was no option for a U.S. citizen

2) I called the USCIS 1-800 number. Was able to get a hold of a person fairly quickly. I told him the situation and provided him with my new address. He gave me the confirmation number for this update and told that it will be updated within the next 15 days, and the NOA2 will be resent to my new address. If it's not, then to call again with that confirmation number that he had provided me with.

3) I called the National Visa Service and asked them about my case (providing the number that is on my NOA1 letter) if they have received it. The gentleman told me that they have not received it as of yet. I was calling from skype and my call was charged. I had to wait about 20 min. until I got a hold of a person.

Please EllinDiasporas and anybody else who might have had a similar issue. Let me know what can be done to change this thing back to a "normal" online status on the USCIS website, cause seeing our status at the level of initial review again is giving me bad vibes. Thank you all for your feedback.
