Yes it is a hard wait when the days get above 100 but hag in there as you say it will be coming. The good thig is that the Vermont office is a bit faster than California (we got our after 147 days) so hopfully it is near for you.

Vietnamwell things change in a year....
Sometime it is hard to think about what a huge cultural difference and thus a SHOCK it is for the women who come to the US. They leave everything behind that is familiar to them and basically the only world they know to come be with us here.
People I talk with say it can be up to 2 to 3 years before they would feel comfortable and at home here.
Maybe it is just this cultural shock and being with her family is as close as she can come to her comfort zone that she left behind.
It is hard but important to remember that everyone that we bring to the new countries we live in need a lot of extra kindness and comfort to help them through the trauma of such a huge adjustment.

USCIS Service CentersI'm Worried

Dear Mickeyman, I

Please don't worry. I think you are about to receive your NOA2 any day now, based on your NOA1 and my NOA1, vs. my NOA2 date. Your story is very much like mine. Best wishes for you.:)

Thank you for your encouragement and kind words. I know that everyone of the wonderful VJ members have or will go through the same hurry up and wait scenario but it is just a bit nerve racking to see things moving at at fairly good pace and then slow down near the finish of the first race.

Again Thanks for your encouragement and support it makes the pill go down a bit easier.

USCIS Service CentersI'm Worried

It figures things would slow down right as it gets to around the time my NOA2 is due. =/ It's also frustrating when you see a bunch of people with NOA1 dates after you getting their NOA2's. I mean I know they're not really going in actual strict order and they're just working from big piles, but it's still frustrating. It just looks like the list is moving ahead with later and later dates and making it seem like mine got lost or something. it makes me worry. I wish people would update their timelines so that I could at least see if anyone from earlier dates was still being processed and not just fallen inactive or something. *sigh*

I think the best thing to do is to just not watch the trends/timelines so closely. It makes everything go a lot slower and/or cause worry. According to my VJ timeline, "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between May 10, 2012 and May 13, 2012*." That hasn't happened. =/ I'm just trying to not watch the dates so much.

I know you are probably right about not watching but once you reach that 4th month mark i am thinking it is kind of normal to get more anxious (not that we all don want our love ones with us yesterday).

USCIS Service CentersI'm Worried

If you're using VJ to track your progress, do note that it's reliant on your fellow VJ-ers and when (or if) they update their timelines as they move through the process. If you're using USCIS, they have the estimated timeframe at five months, which means you're still in that window.

Yes I have been using the VJ time line since the USICS site is not updated too often (if at all) or very maintained.

and yes I will keep waiting (as if there is a choice) and try to be patient but of course since we are coming up on our 5th of course both of us are becoming even more anxious.

Thanks for the encouragement and wisdom

USCIS Service CentersI'm Worried
Hello everyone another newbie here,

Does anyone have a clue what has changed at the CSC with NOA1 to NOA2 approval this last month?

Tracking our progress over the past 4 months I have been watching both the K-1 and K-3 trends and each was staying pretty much steady with the dates almost predictable, however this month the K-3 approval dates have sprinted months ahead of the K-1 applications but only at the CSC. Does anyone know why there has been a slow down of the K-1 approvals?

Chinagetting a No Marrage Certificate
I was looking for information about how my Fiancé can receive her certificate of non-marriage. She is afraid that the Chinese notary will have to ask her employer for paperwork to prove she has never had time off to get married. This (of course) is something she doesn't want to do because she is afraid she would lose her job if they know she is trying to get a K-1 visa.

Anyone that has been through this or has information about the steps and procedure to get this type of document please let us know.

ChinaUnmarried statement versus certificvate
This is all great information but my Fiancé has an concern that she will have to go to her employer for verification since she has had this job for well over 15 years, (this was indicated by someone at the Bureau of Public Affairs in Wuhan). She is concerned that if she does she could loose her retirement if she quites after she gets her visa and is ready to leave.
Anyone have any input about this would be greatly appreciated so I can pass it on to her so she possibly isn't so worried.

ChinaEarly Retirement In China
Thank you all for filling some of the unknowns for us. We now have our approval so we will soon find out what this early retirement is like in Wuhan and once we do of course we will put as much information out there so those that follow Will have a bit more idea of what they might expect.

ChinaEarly Retirement In China

All our friends who are in the same situation it is tough. If she has government pension or company makes a difference. Unfortunately only the two of you can decide which is best economically. Good Luck to both of you, four years is a tough one.

You are right bigdog 4 years would be a really long time. We know it will be a big decision and one we will have to face soon (since interview is next week). We were just hoping to see what others had done to act as a bench mark for what might be ahead of us.

ChinaEarly Retirement In China

My wife had to get this retirement thing straightened out with her company and insurance so when she came to the US and turned 50 that her retirement money would go to her mother or sister. She said she didn't want to waste the money she had already paid in, anyway it took her a few months of going back and forth with her company and the insurance company to where we pay somewhere around 6,000 ren a year till age 50, and she turns 39 later this month. My wife says it is different with each city and based on what percentage you pay in is the percentage you get back, she wanted 100% payout. :help:

Dan_ling

Good information thank you.

So would youtell us did she stay in China for those 2 months while she work things out or did she go ahead and come to the US and do it long distance?
mickeymanMaleChina2012-08-08 16:12:00
ChinaEarly Retirement In China
no I am still working and will for at least another 3 to 4 years..her concern is that when she ask her company to retire early they will say no. We were hoping to find other people here that went through the same process and can share how they handled the whole thing.

ChinaEarly Retirement In China
My wonderful Fiancé is about ready to have her interview in Guangzhou and we are being confident that all will go smoothly. Here is the next huddle for us, she has about 4 more years to work before she can officially retire (unless the China government make the changes they are talking about then even longer) so can the members please share with us how they went about retiring so we can have a better idea of what to expect and possibly what we will need to do.

ChinaGUZ interview questions - more docs?
What we were told was to have a good cross section covering the whole time we have known each other (snap shoot over that time not all) and about 20 to 30 pictures especially those with family and showing other places together.

Of course we were well prepared and they didn't ask to see any of it even when she asked to show them..

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC Now advising to wait 20 business days
We received our NOA-2 on the 29th and after 15 days called "we do not have your file in the system yet call next week" so waited until Friday same week and was told the same thing but added to send a copy of the I797 to NVCREASEARCH@STATE.GOV . On Thursday the 24 received a email from NVC saying they would investigate why they hadn't received on our behalf. Today 6/31 called again and we are in the system with a case number YEA!!
Hope this helps all of you around the same date that are waiting..it should be soon.
