The officer was nice....she took her time...gave me Barry's A number and searched on the computer for my file....said it is still on a shelf and not assigned....~sigh~ great!.....she was friendly and even cracked a couple jokes about the slow computers.....

Well I called CSC this morning using your guidelines and got a very friendly woman on the phone. She gave me Barry's A number and told me my case hasn't been assigned yet but will be shortly as they are now working on October and my NOA1 is Nov.2....she said it may be about another month....agghhhhh

But she was friendly and helpful....

I have a real problem with encouraging people (especially within the processing dates) to abuse the RFE line to nag the officers about their case. That line is for people who truly have an RFE and NEED HELP with it. What if all these people who are within processing time and have no valid reason to be calling other than their own impatience get out of hand and the USCIS decides NO MORE!! Or even on a lesser scale... 5 of you call in a row then someone who truly needs their help calls and gets to encounter an annoyed, harassed po'd officer and now they not only have an RFE but have to deal with this irritated uscis officer on top of it. You get my point?

Tbone I love that you want to help people and appreciate that your intent is sincere but for those of us who actually HAVE been waiting too long it's hard to read about ppl waiting 3-4 months calling! I have only called twice in all this time and said basically the same things you suggest here and it didn't work. When it's time it will be time.



That's why I hesitate to call.....hope you hear something soon!

CSC is absolutely ridiculous lately not only in it's slower than slow approvals of the 129-F petitions, but to now add another month on top in the delay getting them sent out to NVC! Unbelieveable!

It took them 2 1/2 weeks to enter my RFE receipt in...now in a call today the customer rep said it could take another 30- 45 days to make a decision!

Looks to me like if your case was touched on April 8th...that means your case is still in CA.....

When will it end?

The CA heat has gone to employees heads.....since all facilities are non-smoking...all officers (they all smoke of course) go on government authorized smoke breaks every 15 minutes......since they must leave govt property to smoke, they spend half an hour in traffic everytime they go out to the local Dunkin Doughnuts for coffee and doughnuts to accompany their smokes. After their return they are so fat and lethargic from the carbs, they type 10 WPM and frequently check email and news posts about surf conditions on the coast. The remainder of the day is spent browsing through holiday brochures for "work related" travel. All employees go on frequent govt. paid vacations every two weeks under the guise of "immigration investigation" to such places as Aruba, Greece, and The Phillipines. Temporary workers filing in have been trained to answer phones with standard greetings and excuses such as "your file is on the shelf", "it may take another 30 days" or"it is being adjudicated".

*Requirements for employment at CSC: computer skills optional, must type slower than 20 WPM, must must be unable to find pen at the bottom of paper piles, must be overweight and hooked on coffee, cigarettes and Dunkin Doughnuts, must be able to process no more than one application per week, must be emotionally retarded and oblivious to the fact that VSC does their job at triple the approval rates in a third of the time!!

"Tomorrow, I have the day off. I'm planning to call the USCIS and try to find out what is happening. I'll start at the bottom of the ranks and speak with the Customer Service Rep. If I get stonewalled by them, I'll try to talk to a supervisor and then a manager. I expect this will not be easy, but I think I have the right to know what is happening. The USCIS is there to perform a service for us... the taxpayers who pay their salaries.

^I wish you luck Steve. I've tried to speak with someone other than the customer reps when I call and was told , no I can't speak to an officer, they're "adjudicating". I have waited almost 6 months since filing, was sent an RFE for a paper I already sent , waited almost 3 weeks for them to post my received RFE to my case and resume processing, and was told on Tuesday it could be another 30-45 days for them to make a decision. What? unbelieveable! I assumed if they send an RFE the case has pretty much been looked at and they are missing one last bit before approval....30-45 days more? I am soooo mad...but feel like I am forced to do nothing, because nothing can be done....

...as for the theory that the CSC website isn't being updated....my update for receipt of RFE was added on April 9 and I was touched on the 16th because of a phone call....

Thanks for your response.....it is sort of lonely being a CSC filer from October. I think somehow Jose and I got extremely lucky because our NOA2 happened after only four months and yet the USCIS website is still reflects that they were only processing September petitions on March 15th. I don't quite understand the madness but I am certainly thankful and appreciative that somehow we got our petition approved sooner than expected.

Thanks for the good wishes for the interview! I am having a hard time concentrating on anything these days and counting the minutes till Jose goes for his interview. Logically, I know things should work out but I am still super nervous and won't be able to relax until I hear the good news. Jose and I haven't seen eachother for over 4 months....it is awful! It is hard to believe that after nearly 3 years of a long distance relationship we may finally be done with all the waiting. I will let you know how it goes.



Long distance relationships are the worst!.....made even more agonizing by all the delays of slow processing......How exciting that your long wait will soon be ending.....best of luck to Jose for the interview!

Good luck with your interview! We filed late Oct and due to an RFE just received NOA2! CSC has been super slow lately in approving petitions and it's doubtful if any Oct filers have received their visa.....
