(or something similar). Nigeria has a tough embassy - and if they look on this as a "marriage" then you could have an issue. Nope,it is not regarded.what is regarded is the introduction of the two families.Engagement though brings attention/awareness btw family,but this wasnt in anyway documented,except for me giving her a ring.Going to the Registry is highly counted in Nigeria as a proper marriage (cos its documented legally). (Nigeria)	Forum is an avenue for undiluted information to be shared.I have enjoyed being here from day one.Reading people stories has really geared me positively towards achieving a positive preparation for my K1 Visa My fiancee officially becomes a us citizen today (9am American Time).I have being reading alot from people and how easy and hard for them to get Visa.Each situation has being different based on countries and information supplied.I will be as open as i can to get a more clearing opinion from the house.I am divulging the information with the hope of getting a more clearifying answer to my doubts My woman is 10 years older than me and she has kids.She is a christian while i am moslem.She has visited me twice in the last couple of years.i was denied a student visa back in 2008.We have known each other since 2007.I love her so much and no day has passed without us chatting either online or phone for the last one year.I love her and my family loves her as well.I love her kids and they do love me as well.We have never being both Married at all and she has no criminal record of any sort.She is originally from Canada and am a Nigerian Please candid review with not criticism of my country of origin is needed.We have records of our closeness and ties.I am hoping the good readers (though bad critics is allowed) in the house will reply to this.She would be filing next week,cos we have being waiting for her papers and she gets it today. So why would u think ur man would be lying about such.it can happen and should ve bn emailed to him if he had bn corresponding with them via email prior his appointment. The Nigerian Govt has left its citizen at the mercy of foreigners and the US n its security personnels is the master of it. You can go to the embassy to make enqury,u will b directed to the site and their no roaming at the embassy. What u can do is call the embassy and vent your anger,cos few Nigerians wld do that to avoid set backs. You need to be engaged at the time you file the K-1 petition. Once the K-1 is approved, I fly to Colombia and we have a non-legal/non-official wedding ceremony in her church. I dont know how to anwer this question, i had a J-1 visa and it has never been revoked or cancelled, once my visa expired i came back to my home country, but a few months later i applied for a tourist visa and while i was having my interview the consul seals my previews J-1 visa with a "CANCELED WITHOUT PERJUDICE", the consul even said that all py documents were in order and i my record was clean.. So do i Answer "YES" to this question for getting a "cancelled without perjudice" seal at the interview or I answer "NO" because my visa was never revoked or cancelled while it was valid, i got that seal while i was having an interview at the embassy. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	No emails or letters...just phone calls and massenger logs	We used six months of phone and text message records for my husband's interview in Casa. When he called me, it was recorded on my cell phone bill. When I called him, it was recorded on the calling system I used. Our text messages also showed up on my cell phone bill. So, he went with 6 months of communication bills - our contacts were highlighted for easy access/reading. It showed multiple phone calls and text messages per day. So, if that's your method of communication, provide at least six months and make it easily readable/accessible for them. (I recommend the highlighting). Also, they will likely ask her why no other forms of communication were used; they did ask my husband this question. So, make sure she is prepared. For us, we both were busy and preferred talking and texting rather than other forms of communication. They accepted that. Just make the proof of relationship easy for them to see and read and be prepared to answer why it was the best form of communication for your relationship. Good Luck I would wanna believe what you present as an evidence of keeping the relationship ongoing is what would be accepted.The Phone log and text Message is quicker for some to communicate.My wife never liked replying to emails bcos she just reads and digest them.whatever we need talk,she calls or text me to come online.we havent used the email for close to three years of our dating now and i am not seeing that as a problem.My phone log with her shows at least 5 minutes on each call and i call her everymorning and nite b4 laying down.	souleymon	Not Telling	Nigeria	2011-06-20 11:32:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Age difference question	I think you will be fine... unfortunately its the reverse when it causes issues .... if she was 51 and you were 31 there may be an issue but the most important thing is to save everything about your relationship to prove it is a genuine relationship, chats, emails, pictures, travel tickets, receipts of gifts, cards sent ...you name it... and of cos be sure her family accepts everything ...other than that I think you will be fine Yeap the reverse could cause issues basically if the Petitioner is a female with a wide Age Difference.In some embassy,it doesnt count as a RED FLAG except in some extremist countries.Little age difference doesnt entirely qualifies one,Providing adequate information about Ongoing relationship is the Major key and constant communication	souleymon	Not Telling	Nigeria	2011-06-27 07:29:00

My fiance is traveling up there next week for his medical check. Since he'll already be in the city, I'm thinking about emailing the Embassy to request that he pick up his Packet 3, instead of them mailing it, to ensure that he has the medical check form in hand at his appointment. The TZ Embassy only does K-1 interviews once per month, which is why we're really trying to stay on top of this. If the mail happens to be delayed by just a day or two (which is common), he'll have to wait until September to interview. So, do you think it's feasible to email a request for him to pick up the Packet 3 in person? Can Embassies be accomodating?
