Mexico, Latin & South AmericaSending Packet 3 before receiving
Thanks to all who replied. I wound up just typing a cover letter (similiar to Nessas). My fiance is sending the stuff tomorrow.

By the way, she talked to someone at the embassy today and they said to her that there is something in the packet 3 that she takes with her to get her certificate. Now I am a bit confused but we shall see. Anybody have any idea's? The embassy said they are sending her packet 3 this week. I told her to still send her packet 3 things to them tomorrow.

I know the chances are very very very slim, but I am crossing my fingers for a Dec. interview date. Crazier things have happened I am sure and if it doens't then I'll save a ton on plane tickets but I am getting very anxious.

Thanks Again!!!!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaSending Packet 3 before receiving
My fiance are getting really close to the end and our progress is due much in part to this site. What a wonderful resource and that you to everybody who posts and asks questions here. But I need some assistance and could not find answers through searching so I want to ask.

The embassy in Rio received our petition Nov. 1. I would like my finace to send the required packet 3 information to the embassy prior to receiving it. I understand that when she does this she needs to indicate our case number somewhere. How is everyone doing this? Did you include a cover letter? If so what does it say?

Also, in reference to her police certificates, she has a cousin who works for the civil police and this cousin told her she needed something from the embassy prior to requesting her certificate. I hvae read nowhere where this is the case. The only thing I can think of that she might need is her case number (other then completing the form). Is this correct or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaIs it just me...
I also thought all interviews in Rio were on a Tuesday. However, my fiance has her interview on a Thursday (1/18). I thought this might be a mistake but that was the date the embassy gave both her and I when we called them and it is also the date that they sent to me in an e-mail.

Also, I know the Orkut community that is mentioned above. There is also another person who has posted there that has a 1/18 interview as well.

Maybe they are going to start doing the interviews on Tuesday and Thursday???

Just my 2 cents. Good Luck!!!!

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionMoving abroad Prior to filing for removal of conditions
My wife's temporary Green Card expires in March of 2009. My understanding is that 3 months prior to that you apply to remove the conditions. The problem is that I am taking another job with my company and my wife and I will be re-locating to Dubai for 3 years. We are moving in about 2 months which means that we will be moving from the US prior to being able to do anything about lifting her conditions.

Has anyone had this situation? I have looked all over the web and besides applying for a re-entry visa (which is only valid I believe for 1 year) I am not sure what to do. I am planning on seeking the advise of an immigration attorney but I thought I would ask here first.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
