Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)After 4 and a half years visa is issued

I got an email from the embassy this morning. They said my husband's visa has been issued and he has to be in the States by March 9, 2014.

Most of you know our story. We were in AP 16 months when our visa got denied because the embassy said we were not legally married because I am a Christian and he is Muslim. We hired an immigration attorney and won our appeal. Our case was sent back to the embassy where we were kept in AP almost another 2 years.

My husband is strong and he kept our marriage together through the long wait.

I want to thank all my friends on visa journey that supported us and encouraged us through the years.

Alright! God is good!

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)French/American Couples - Part III - 2014

Hello Fellow Journeyers!

Happy New Year! Bonne Année et Bonne Santé!

I'm American and my fiance is French. We submitted our paperwork at the end of August and received the approval October 18, 2013. We waited for more than 2 months to receive our case number, which the NVC says was forwarded to the Embassy in Paris on December 27. My fiance filled out the DS-160 and we tried to schedule an appointment with the consulate after filling out the visa application, but it wouldn't let him actually schedule the appointment. Is this normal? He has not received any packet from the Embassy, yet.

What do we do at this point? Do we wait until he receives the information from the consulate or do we try and call the embassy (which is impossible, by the way!)

What is the CEAC and where do I find that?

What has been your experience with the embassy in Paris?

Thanks for your help and time.

Much Love and Blessings,

A

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2 to NVC is pretty frustrating at this point

Good Afternoon Everyone,

My fiancé and I are still waiting for the NVC to 'receive' our approved K-1 petition, which was approved on October 18th.  I have been calling patiently all through November, with no luck in getting a case number.  The agents kept telling me that it takes up to 8 weeks to receive the petition.  It's been about 8 weeks and still no case number. I don't understand why this step is taking so long. Anyway, I called the NVC today and the agent asked me what my letter says.  I told her exactly as it read, "The above petition has been approved and forward to the listed consulate."  She then tells me that I have to call the consulate and find out what's going on. Is that true? That goes against everything I've heard about this process so far. Has anyone here waited longer than 8 weeks to receive your case number? I realize I'm at the 8 week mark, but I'm starting to get really worried.

Thank you for your advice,

Andrea

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsAny help [K1 follow Case number NVC]

My approved I-129f form took over two months to be sent. It was approved October 18th and wasn't declared shipped until December 16. Our documents were sitting at the Texas Service Center for 2 whole months before it was even thought about being shipped.  So I was calling the National Visa Center for no GD reason....smh.

Hopefully we will get a case number sooner rather than later.

Just venting,

A

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC case number

This totally happened to us as well. I emailed the NVC and called USCIS and asked to speak to an immigration officer. He put in a request and a just a few days later, our paperwork was shipped to the NVC and we recieved the case number 1 week and a half later.  As, long as you do that, you should be fine.

Good luck.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresLet K1 visa expire?

Hi guys,

I'm in a tricky situation right now. I am currently studying for my Master's degree and had applied for the K-1 visa 3 months ago and to my fiance's and my surprise our visa processing has been progressing at a very rapid rate. My case is now with the embassy and will have my interview soon.

Now I know that if granted a visa I'll have to move to the US in less than 6 months. But doing this means I won't be able to finish my studies. Do you think I'll be able to extend/re-issue the visa based on this reason? If not, if I let the visa expire and then once I finish my degree I get married and apply for a spouse visa, will this cause any troubles (in the sense that I let my K-1 visa expire and based on this will I have any problems with the spouse visa?)

What if you came here, got married, and then went back to Russia?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI-134 Support Affidavit

Hello Journeyers,

I just called the department of state in Washington, DC and asked them what documentation is needed to submit along with the I-134 and she just told me that you just need a W-2 and that's it.

I was under the impression that you needed a lot more along with this particular form.

Is she telling me the truth? LOL

Thanks,

Andrea

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDeferring a Visa, DUI problems

From what I read, it seems like your fiance is the USC, right? IF so, is this her first or second offense? Are there any federal charges (did she kill anyone?)

If there are no federal charges and especially if this her first offense, I don't even think the subject will come up.

Good luck!
