Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)Visa/Waiver trap
What kind of mental illness are we talking about? Bipolar? Has he ever been sectioned?

I was voluntarily hospitalised for psychiatric problems in 2004 - just before my first trip on the VWP. I was never given a diagnosis, so I checked no on every box on the Visa waiver form, and the AOS forms. I got my green card, no problem.

I have heard however, that having been sectioned (which I wasn't) in the past makes you ineligable for entry into the US. I don't know how true this is.

Maybe you could call an immigration lawyer and talk it through with them? Many of the ones round here do free 30 minute consultations.....

United KingdomBritish Television
I'm probably going to get yelled at for this, because its totally against UK TV licence laws... but I use uknova.com

Its great! It has eastenders, corrie, the bill, holby, casualty, big brother... you name it, it has it - usually uploaded the same day that it was on TV in the UK. You need some software to download it - its called BitComet but thats free too.

I actually don't feel too bad about using it, because if the BBC did some kind of pay per view thing that cost the same as the TV license I'd jump all over it. :D

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresThe "attempting to add a case that does not exist" club - Check in
I don't exist either! I applied for DORA early January, and my 90 days is up in a week!

The woman I spoke to on the information line said that its a lottery who gets added to that system and who doesn't. From what I've seen, they started to slack off in early January. Figures ;)

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresMARRIAGE FRAUD
ccdr14 I'm sorry this has happened to you. I actually laughed out loud when you said that she is claiming that you are a bad husband because you wouldn't let her buy clothes or hygeine products. If thats the case, then my husband is the worst husband ever! I'm pregnant, have no maternity clothes (in fact, I've started wearing HIS clothes now!) and have been using walmart own brand shampoo for practically everything. Its very versatile, don't ya know ;)

Everyone knows that the first year of marriage is the hardest, especially when you throw immigration and not being able to work into the mix. Personally, I'm more than happy to cut coupons, wear his clothes and make sacrifices if it means we have a roof over our head and some ramen noodles to eat!! Its a pity your wife doesn't see things from the same view point. I don't care what sacrifices we have to make, because I know in a few years time we will be that much stronger because of them - financially and as a couple.

I'm no expert, but I'd start a journal documenting all the unreasonable demands she made on you, detailing all the things you did pay to give her a stable home (rent, bills, car, groceries, medical expenses etc) and all the attempts you made to make the marriage work. If you have it all down on paper, you will be able to make a much stronger case to the USCIS and you will have it all that much clearer in your own mind. But most of all, you'll be able to see for yourself that you did everything you could possibly have done in the circumstances.

Not everyone has the same agenda as your (ex)wife. Most of us ARE here for the right reasons. So please don't let this experience stop you from finding genuine happiness in the future.

We got the form in our packet 3 which was both emailed to us and snail mailed to us.

I have not seen anywhere to download this form on the DOS website.

I found the form online I think by doing a google search. Yes it's a form you just sign and put your fiancées name...it's an easy one. I just sent it to him in case he needs it! (like you said...you never know what they will want right!)

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSponsor's Financial Responsibility under the Social Security Act
When viewing the FAQ's (Some Tips on the affidavit of support) of the I-134 (Affidavit of Support) the 6th bullet down states:

"Some foreign U.S. consulates require a 2nd affidavit of support which is called "sponsor's financial responsibility
under the social security act." It is a simple form and easily filled out and signed. The Hong Kong consulate does
require this form, as does the Sydney (Australia) consulate."

How do I know if the consulate in my fiance's country will require this extra form? Is this a form I can print off now, fill out, sign, and send to her with all the other forms before her interview process? Or is this something the consulate will decide and send to us on their discretion? I am simply trying to save time and get everything done right the first time, so there is no waiting for other forms and mailing time.

Any thoughts? Thanks!
