Get some sleep. You more than exceed the minimum poverty guidelines. Think about it. Most Americans don't have any substantial savings. A lot of petitioners aren't exactly rich and have somebody co-sponsor for them.

"These poverty guidelines remain in effect for use with the Form I-864 Affidavit of Support from April 1, 2007, until new poverty guidelines go into effect in the Spring of 2008.

If you cannot meet the minimum income requirements using your earned income, you have various options:

You may add the cash value of your assets such as money in savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and property. To determine the amount of assets required to qualify, subtract your household income from the minimum income requirement (125 percent of the poverty level for your family size). You must prove the cash value of your assets is worth five times this difference (the amount left over).

Example for a household size of 4:

125 percent of 2007 poverty guideline
$25,812

sponsor's income
$19,500

Difference
$6,312

Multiply by 5
x 5

Minimum Required Cash Value of Assets"
$31,560

My fiancee had her Med. check up today and was called back for additional tests in 2 weeks. She had PTB before but was cured. She is required to have a check up every year for her job and has been cleared every time..Im sad and very nervous right this second. We had out interview this coming nov 24th and i am arriving there(philippines) the 28th. I had everything planned out so she can fly back with me before jan 19th. Now she was told to not go to her interview and to come in and take those tests and she will have to wait for 2 months after to get results..Is this true?? Does it really take this long sad.gif I feel so helpless right now..Do i need to call up and cancel the interview? Does the additonal test cost more money??? Someone please give me some advice, im in deep stress this second.....thank you, ray

If she will be check positive then SLEC will do the cancel for her interview. and they will do the rescheduling too. No need to call them.

My fiance went to PI before to attend my interview and fly with him to US but sadly i had a problem about my medical so SLEC rescheduled my interview date and my fiance did not make to attend the interview.

wow its sounds exactly what i will go thru now that they have told her to go back to have a sputum test. she has been cured from tb for 7 years now..can i ask you how come they have told her she must wait 2 months after the test are done this coming nov 24-26th(3 days) to get the results and interview? my interview date was this coming 24th of nov and im arriving there the 28th to see her...im so depressed right now..i dont want to sound like a sissy but i feel so helpless....i would do anything to fix this problem...would anyone know what i could do??? please advise

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInterview for I-751 Help Please
I've been searching through the forums and cant find any other interview posts like mine. I had a terrible day today and on top of that I just started a new job this past oct 24th missing one day of work already today. What is the the usual process now after we had this interview? Do we get a notice in the mail with a approved or denial letter? Do we have another interview again? Please chime in on what should we expect and do. Im kinda worried here because of this damn white paper with the box checked FURTHER REVIEW. I have no clue and wanted to ask the lady but she was so stern and did not want to be interupted and sent us on our way out.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionInterview for I-751 Help Please
Hello everyone,

My wife and I had our interview to get her 10 year visa card(i-751) that sometimes they send you in the mail without even an interview. They sent us a blue request for evidence before this and I sent the same stuff I sent when I first filled the application. I mean seriously I have no other things to send them and sent everything they asked for. At the interview today the lady asked questions and her main concern was about our health insurance. We were both out of work at the time and applied for county insurance about 3 months ago which is free if you dont have any income. She kept our papers with our insurance details and our joint bank account statement we have togther that was all. She looked at our car insurance and that was it besides our bank account and health insurance. She told us at the end of the interview I dont see any problem here, but she needs to further review our case and gave us the white sheet with the your case has been continued for the reasons checked below: further review box checked instead of the congratulations, your application has been approved. Im pretty stressed out this second and worried like i've never been before. I mean how come they dont come to our home and visit us? I wrote a letter as well in the evidence to invite them over to visit us here at our home if they wanted to. I dont see why we have to go through this when we are just a simple couple who love each other. Please someone give us any kind of feedback on our situation. I feel like my wife is going to get taken away from me and get deported for nothing we have done wrong. Do I need to get an attorney? Please someone advise us...... :( :( :(

O she started off as a K1-Visa from the Philippines to here in America

Thank you and GodBless,

hello. im in the final stage of my petition for k1 visa. all we have to do now is gather all the required docs and then schedule and interview with manila embassy... now my fiancee is from manila but she has worked in cebu for 2 years....how do i get a police clearance from there?? please someone give me advise asap...i appreciate it thank you

are you guys 100% sure she only needs a nbi clearance?? the website is not clear to me but it sounds like she only need a police clearance from any other country she has lived in for more than 6 months....-NBI clearance and police clearance it sounds like they are saying you need both.....grrr ppl need to make things more clear

-NBI clearance and police clearance. Applicants aged 16 or older must have a valid Record Clearance for Travel Abroad Purposes from the Philippine National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and a Police Certificate from every other country where they have lived for one year or more since reaching the age of 16 (six months or more for K visa applicants).

I'd like to share to everyone that my wife just called the US Embassy today and she was informed that my DV is not yet with the Embassy after six weeks. She then asked if the DV is no longer required and Grace mentioned that it is a new process this October. My wife asked if they can do something about it and she said there's nothing she can do about it. Haay naku. NSO talaga! Good luck to all those waiting for their visas due to DV.

so the new process is that there is no longer a documentation verification fee(DV) starting october???

Hi Everyone! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I just got my visa approved last Tuesday, October 14, 2008. After I was interviewed by a consul. I was asked to sit and wait at the waiting area again for my number to be called at window 37 or 38. After a few minutes of chatting with some applicants, my number was flashed at the counter. I was called to proceed at Window 37. The lady gave me the instructions and handed me the pink slip together with my confirmation letter i printed from my email.

After she gave me the instructions, I asked her if I should pay again for the mailing of my visa and passport or am i done since I paid ahead of time with the P650 at Metrobank. Then the lady at the window 37 told me that the document verification is not needed anymore and that I will asked the Delbros staff at the booth if they can refund my P650 since it's no longer needed.

So i went to the Delbros booth asked the in charge there if they could refund but I got no luck and just went paid the P250 for the courier service instead. Don't feel like arguing that day. Lol!

I hope this will give answers to everybody. I'm hoping for my visa to be delivered within 2 weeks.

Cheers!

Angel

I know there are a couple of threads on this matter, but they seem to go off the topic..Please any news and updates would be really much appreciated...I have checked the packet/instructions at http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfk1en.pdf and it doesnt mention anything about DV..Also if you look at the bottom of the page its says (K1/K2 Applicants’ Interview Preparation Instructions – English/October 2008). So im assuming they must have just revised this packet this oct...Thanks everyone for the help...Ray

If you know you have some complications with your x-ray or have a scar in your lungs you might want to sched your med exam asap or atleast time it so you dont have to wait...you will be denied regardless if you have current med certs and x-rays showing that you are cured from the tb and asked to come back for a 3 day tests and wait for 2 more months so might as well get it over with and get your sputum test and 2 months out the way...just make sure you have the req passport and pic....i wish i knew this when i got my case number back 2 months ago...

Hello, thank you so much for the info it really helps me a lot coz i also have scar in my lungs. Thats why i will have an early medical as soon as my case will be approve to avoid waiting that 2 months just for the result. Does St.lukes accept early medical even if we dnt have the appiontment letter but the case is approved?

Anyways we had our interview sced for nov 24th so when i arrived there nov 28th i thought the interview would be done by then. the interview was canceled at her med exam nov19th due to previous tb my fiancee had and the scar which is left on your lungs..anyways i was there for almost 2 months and now im wating for her final culture test which will come out feb 3rd. she passed the sputum tests. i just dont understand if she passed the first 3 tests what are my chances of her coming out positive on the culture tests?? she has yearly check ups for her job at jp morgan and everything is fine....sometimes i think those doctors at st lukes are just crooked and just decide if its positive or negative....please any advice would help me relax.....she was supposed to be here with me right this second, im so nervous i swear.......

Congratulations...im so happy for both of you.. Pls include us in ur prayers so that we can pass and be happy like u guys.. Again, I wish u both lifetime happiness. God bless you.

Thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts in all this. Without all of you, we both would have been lost.

Shir says that most of the counsel questions, all 5 minutes of it, were about our wedding plans and gown selection. I guess if we have all that planned we are serious about this.

She got the really nice counsel who looked like Lady Diane. yes.gif

The pre-screen made her nervous cause she started with, "So tell me your story"... a free style question like that is hard to answer. She was very nice though.

Thank you all so much.

Phil and Shir

yes my fiancee had the same problems as well with the pre-screen..lady was a filipina and asked why i havent been working lately....she told my fiancee 60+k in stocks and $140 grand in the banks which clearly shows that money has been steadly accumulating over a time of 5 yrs is not sufficient enough but its up to the officer inside that makes the decision...my fiancee even had my condos title in hand and estimated value in hand....my fiancee then felt really bad and her hopes were down, but the officer didnt even say anything about that stuff...pfft what a bunch of horse ###### with the pre-screens!!!! ....why is it that i hear that the pinoys/pinays working at the embassy are the ones that are the headaches and intimidating the applicants??? those filipinos working in the embassy should be happy more hardworking filipinos are trying to come to america....filipinos are knows across the world as hardworking, intelligent, kind human beings...

Philippines6-8 weeks for the visa to arrive??
thanks for all the info guys smile.gif i really appreciate everyones help and experience.. i called the embassy (632) 301-2000 pressed 0, talked to operator and transfered to visa services..i then talked to a nice filipina named grace and she was probably the best person who i have talked to regarding this whole process. very helpfull and to top all the good customer service she tracked our case #dwn and told us that our visa was just printed out yesterday and will be released this tues to be delivered..what a relief it is to know that...it is much better to call this number then to call the visa information customer service number..they didnt really help and just told me to wait. the lady was even answering me by saying mmmhu not yes or no...very bad service......btw i recommend all us petitioners to call the number up top and ask for a status update if you havent heard anything since your last interview date if you are waiting for your visa for along time...

Philippines6-8 weeks for the visa to arrive??
Hello again fellow VJ'rs..I called the embassy today and they told me that the counsel who interviewd (feb 4th) my fiancee has not issued a visa yet. It usually takes 6-8 weeks for a decision to be made??? Is this correct???? Wow this really is making me worry. Feels like something is wrong with our case. I mean they issued her a pink slip and told her to pay the air21 fee, he even said everything went fine....I dont understand
