I suggest you call CSC for those March filers who haven't received a notice of approval in June. I called and apparently I was approved on June 13th. I haven't recieved and email, nor has my status changed on line. So call them!!!!!

PhilippinesProblem at Social Security Office - Beware!!
If you go on the SS website www.ssa.gov , it clearly states that with the I-94 you can get a SS#. You can print it and go again to show them. See below:

Immigration status
To prove your U.S. immigration status, you must show us the current U.S. immigration document, I-94, Arrival/Departure Record, issued to you when you arrived in the United States. If you are an F-1 or M-1 student, you also must show us your I-20, Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status. If you are a J-1 or J-2 exchange visitor, you must show us your DS-2019, Certificate of Eligibility for Exchange Visitor Status.

Also, because there is a change of residence, you can automatically get a driver's license in your state. If you were to be pulled over by the police you could get a ticket for not having a valid driver's license.

hi guys! we successfully get thru talking to a customer representative on csc. we were approved june 22nd. but if we check online, our case is still received and pending. we already have 4 touches so were really suspecting that we were approved. and we are right, we were approved right after the first touch.

so for those who got many touches and haven't received the approval yet, i suggest that you call the csc and talk to a representative.

we are very happy :dance:

now, we're in the next step...at least we are getting closer :)

Yes that is the number. The same thing happened to me where the computer is not updated, but had been approved, apparently, June 13th!. Good Luck!

Another way to find out, if after being approved by CSC, if your file has been received by NVC is call NVC at 603-334-0700. Prompts 1-1-1-4-1 and enter your CSC receipt number.

I called CSC today and I found out that I have been approved since June 13th!!!!! and my file was sent to NVC on 6/27/07. I have the same problem as you guys.... on the website it is not updated, nor have I received a letter or email. I asked why and they guy that answered me said that they are having computer problems and the letters are not going out. He said he reset it so that a letter is sent to me telling me it is approved.

Sooooo.... if you were in the same boat at me, I suggest you call and go through the prompts as though you had received and RFE and ask what the status is. When I called I said I hadn't heard anything as was worried if they had sent me an RFE and I just didn't receive it and luckily it worked.

Well I sent my info in on March 27, 2007. I got my receipt notice, but how long is this going to take I hope my finace' is over her by Christmas.....and also how does the processing steps work for the I-129f....I think that has me confused the most.

After you get your first receipt notice (NOA1), you get to wait for around 3 months until you get your first approval (NOA2) or RFE (Request for more evidence). Even with an RFE, you will submit the required missing evidence and then get your NOA2 from CSC. After you get your NOA2, which should be soon for you, the case is sent to the NVC (National Visa Center) for additional screening. After this process the application is then forwarded off to the embassy in the beneficiaries country. The time from NOA2 to the consulate receiving the package, is usually 3-4 weeks. One they receive it, you can make an appointment for your interview. In this time, the beneficiary will need to get a medical exam and procure all the paperwork the embassy requires, a list of which which I am sure can be found on their website. This final process take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, and it looks like the Bahamas is very fast. In all likelihood, your fiance will be here for Christmas, probably long before Thanksgiving. Good luck and I would suggest filling in your timeline, it helps all of us here to be able to follow it.


How long on average does NVC take?


The NVC is taking a while for some right now, but in general it takes about a week to get from the service center, after the NOA2, to the NVC. They process it for a couple of days typically, and then they send it to the appropriate embassy which can take from a few days to a few weeks. It's best to look at the NVC time as from the day you get the NOA2 until the embassy actually receives the package so you can set an interview appointment. This total time is usually 3-4 weeks or so. The final stage, the interview, depends on how quick you can get the paperwork (police cert, translated docs, financials, 156 forms, and medical exam) done, and how fast your embassy is. Apparently, it is all random, depending where on the stack you are at. I still don't have an approval, but I'm sure getting touched alot - 2 days in a row. Hopefully for the better. I'm eagerly awaiting some sort of news from them too. I"ll keep you all posted.

i don't know specifics about honduras, but for my wife's child following from thailand - we started at the packet 3 stage. we resubmitted everything packet 3 requires (I-134, evidence, letter from employer, medical, etc.) and waited for the interview date.
