I picked up Packet 3 today from the US Consulate. All excited here. I got an email yesterday to contact the Consulate yesterday and called this morning. The lady was really nice and asked if I wanted to pick up Packet 3 in person or if I prefer to have it mailed. I opted for the pick up. blush.gif

If it's of any help, I know what it feels like. This process is an emotional rollercoaster, especially since you can't be with the one person that means everything to you. I've had plenty of meltdowns and even though we got the approval last week, I'm still not my emotional self. All I can say is that the positive side of those really bad days and a really good cry is that you usually feel at least a bit better afterwards for a while.

Hang in there Laura. All the wait is worth it in the end. In a few months we won't have to communicate with our SOs over the phone, Skype, email anymore.

You'll make it through. My thoughts are with you!!! I'm sure the approval is on the way!!!!! good.gif

I can fully relate to your post. This whole process is an emotional rollercoaster. On the good days you think 'Oh well, we are this and that long into the process. Eventually this will all be over and done with and I will be together with the person I love'. then on the bad days you think 'I'm losing my patience. When will this be over?'. Especially during those bad, whenever something goes wrong, no matter how insignificant, you're just down in the dumps and want to pull the blanket over your head, falls asleep and wake up when all this is over. I wonder if some of the people at the service centers have been through this process.

On a positive note, all of us December filers are one month into the process now, so one month down on the clock!!!

To all of you out there: Hang in there! We all have a very special person in our life that loves us and is looking forward to a great future with us.

I used to work on weekends for several years when I was working in the hotel industry, so I know what you're talking about. But the good thing is that you get to take off when everybody else has to work. That makes shopping a lot more fun without being elbowed during the weekend rushes. wink.gif

First of all WELCOME to all the other December filers that just joined this thread!!

tj3467 - congrats on your upcoming trip. It's alwas great to have a set date to see your SO during this process.

Without getting my hopes up high, it is good to see the wave of October filers approved. Let's hope that everyone who filed before October will be approved soon too. And, of course, that CSC will resume approving petitions again.

To keep our minds off this process for a moment, are you guys making plans for the day yet when this is over? Are you planning to pick up your SO from her/his home country or will they be coming to the US by themselves?

We are planning that Steve will come to Bermuda (to help me pack and wind up all the stuff with my apartment, etc) and we'll spend a couple of days here before we go back together.

Some of us December filers are already a full month or more into the process, other are close to the 'one-month' mark.

Some days I check the USCIS site a couple of time a day (even though it's highly unlikely that anything will happen at the moment, but we're optimists), then again I don't check for a few days.

Just a little something I wanted to share with you guys out there. I got my flight ticket for February today. For once I was lucky and the price went down $200 from what they quoted yesterday. Everything's a 'little' more expensive in Bermuda. I pick out my wedding dress while I'm there (no regular bridal shops here) and my future mother-in-law is planning a post-Christmas/bridal shower. I'm excited and I know all that will make things feel more real even though it will be a bit strange at the same time because we have no idea yet when the wedding will be. Like I said, just wanted to share this with you.

Weekend's around the corner!!! Steve and I were just talking the other day how much we are looking forward to the times when we get to spend the weekends together. Next year this time this entire process will only be a memory we can tell our kids and grandkids about yes.gif

Now the waiting begins!

Steve came to Bermuda for a long weekend. He also brought along our Engagement Photos that we had taken in November in Atlanta. It's so good to be together again, even if it's just for 4 days. He'll be coming back for a long week over New Year's star_smile.gif

Meeting up in Vegas to celebrate sounds good. Steve and I are planning to get married there anyway. I wonder whether other K1-couples have had get-togethers in the past once they completed the process. I think it would be fun sharing our happiness after these rough times.

My thoughts are going out to all of you going through this process. We'll make it through!!!!!!!!!!

There is no telling. May is "just" 6 months away. I am not sure whether the holidays will impact the processing times. I was thinking about several scenarios with regards to the processing times. . First of all, welcome to VJ!

Actually, the attorney should give you all the info with regards to what to prepare. If you haven't signed a representation letter yet, my advice would be, don't do it. We've had our share of negative experience in that regard. If there is nothing out of the norm about your petition, you can do it without a lawyer. If you have signed a representation letter, make sure to go through your petition bit by bit before the attorney sends it out. They do make mistakes!!! dry.gif

Like Smoke said, have a look at the guides and you'll be all set.

VSC has been approving quite a few September as well some October filers since the beginning of the year. However, you're timeline indicates that you are still in a very reasonable timeframe for NOA2. Don't stress too much about it at this point. You will eventually get the approval notice.

It's all about patience here, even though it's hard at times to stay patient and positive throughout the entire process. But there's nothing we can do about it.
