Dont know why they charged you that, i had mine on the 18th May and they charged me £190. I had the routine blood test done. Seems pretty strange if they didn't do anything different than normal.

can someone help me please

Where do i begin!!! I'm from Aberdeen, Scotland.. Well i met my boyfriend online, I've known him for over 2yrs but things started to get a bit serious between us last December.. I ended up coming over to America in march this year for a 2 weeks holiday.. We hit it off right away that i am now back in America again & this time i am here for 3months.. I really want to move to America to be with him but marriage isn't an option for either of us.. How do i go about in moving to America? Just can't seem to find answers that i want.. i've thought of trying to find sponsership from an employer here but the information i found is that you need to have an employer that will be able to sponsor you then the next you find that they say you need to apply for a work visa first!! So i'm finding things a little confusing!!! Can anyone give me some help here.. Would be much appreciated.. Or is there anything else i can do to move to America?

She would have to show proof of income (in the form of tax returns), so if she filed jointly, she would submit the joint returns. Since she has her own W-2/1099's as appropriate, they will be able to verify just her income.

I would suggest you use tax transcripts, and highlight the required information.

You would be in the same predicament with the husband, since they file jointly.

Hi all,

Just want to ask a quick question on something! Ok my fiance (USC) has already filed our I-129f petition still waiting for our 2nd NOA.. As my fiance doesn't work at all, he has no income or any assets of any kind. He takes care of his father full time.. My fiance's sister & brother wants to co-sponsor me. With my fiance's sister who works at a hospital in the pharmacy department who earns well above the federal poverty guidelines.. What i want to know is, she needs to show proof of her tax returns for the year.. What she has told me that she does her tax returns along with her husbands. My question is does that matter if she does her tax returns along with her husbands as her proof of her own income for the year? Or would she be better to have her husband co-sponsor me as he has his own business?
Any advice would be much appreciated..

Health care reform, anyone?

My view on the matter is between the insurance companies & the pharmacuticals are only interested in making money to gain profits.. How can they justify the cost of the drugs in america? When in the UK don't matter what prescription you are seeking from pharmacies it will only cost you £5 & thats it.... They don't care about the wellbeing of the people never have done & never will... They are the ones who play god with peoples lives & that has to change.. So i think they are heading in the right direction of change to a better system to what they have now... I'm planning to move over to the states this year & so not looking forward on how i will deal with the health insurance... So i can't fault much on the NHS if the system works then it works...

Packet 3 Recieving and logging time

Roughly same as this. Sent our packet 3 off on May 12th. Waited a month before it showed up on Embassy system as received by them. June 24th i received the letter with the interview date for July 30th. So same interview day as you weescot xD

2010 United Kingdom Interview Thread

Well had my interview on Friday 30/7/10 & it was a very long day in there was there for 5hrs.. Had all the relevant documents that was required of me. The interview went well & the paperwork was all in order until they questioned about my divorce paperwork as it didn't have either word of FINAL or ABSOLUTE DIVORCE on it. Mines says DECREE of DIVORCE this is because the scottish divorce laws are very different to the english divorce laws.. I had explained this to the woman who was interviewing me.. But she said this has to be checked out first before she can stamp my passport.. So she said once we has this cleared up then you will get your passport back with visa returned to you within 5-7 working days.. So not exactly jumping for joy yet. I will be doing that once i see my passport with the visa in it..
So that was my day at the embassy..

Best Moving Shipping Company

Im sure this topic has probably been beat to death but my fiance is moving from England come March and was wondering what the cheapest way to send about three or four boxes or so to the U.S. would be. Any certain companies or websites that you know of please let me know.

Also I found out the fee for the I-129 is 340.00 now as opposed to the 495.00 that I paid two months before it changed. We are still waiting for the date for the interview and I was wondering if I was able to get a refund for the difference if possilbe. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.,

Hi there, I used excess baggage company & i found them to be pretty cheap to ship over boxes. I had 10 boxes which was about 32cu ft costing just under 450.00. They do tell you it can take about 8-12 weeks to ship to the USA. My boxes did take about 8weeks to arrive from the UK & the boxes arrived in perfect condition. Hope this information helps you. I've been here since october & my boxes arrived on the second week in december.

Confused with some questions on I-134

This I-134 is getting a bit confusing... What i would like to know is with Q7: right my fiance doesn't work & has no income of any kind as he is a full-time caregiver to his father.. So should he just put in Q7: he is unemployed & attach a piece of paper explaining his situation?

Next question is Q11: should he tick the I intend box & put support spouse? or should he tick Do Not Intend?

Also my future sister in-law is gonna co-sponsor me.. So would she have to tick either I Intend or Do Not Intend? If she was to tick I Intend what is a reasonable contribution she could offer?

Would be nice to hear if anybody else has been in this situation & perhaps give me some advice to my questions..

In most cases, pay stubs and three tax returns are a good idea. What is ideal is both country and case specific though.

Is one year tax transcript enough for evidence? Cause some say you need 3 then some say 1 is enough?

Interview Wait

Hi all,
I sent my packet 3 off on May 4th, had my medical on May 18th, but still have had no reply from the Embassy for my interview date. So it's nearly six weeks now, getting a bit worried now, is this pretty normal, checked on others who sent packet 3 about the same time and had the medical around the same dates and they have there interview dates. Is this something to worry about and had i better give the Embassy a call. My packet 3 was signed for on May 6th.

How do I contact the London Embassy?

Hi all

Please help!

I am trying to find out when I will recieve my visa, as the DX secure courier cant tell me, they said it may be up to another 2 weeks wait and I was hoping on flying out on Aug 21st!!!

I had my interview on July 26th, but had the incorrect birth certificate for k1 visa. So, I had to get it and then courier it to London with my passport and then wait for it to be returned to me. The last I heard was Wednesday last week (4th august) when I was told the embassy had recieved it that morning.

I really need a phone number to contact someone at the embassy to find out, because I really need to know in order to rearrrange my flights etc (and for my sanity...)

Hi there,

Well i'm having the same issue as you as to when will i get my passport back. I did the same thing as you did by calling DX & that was a waste of time as they can't help you until the receive the passport from the embassy.. I ended up called the rather expensive line to find out what's happening. My passport has been transferred over which could either be good news or it could be denied.. But i was told i would have my passport back within 5-7 working days which today is now the 6th day. But the woman told me that it takes about 5-10 working days if i don't get my passport by thursday or fri then i have to call them back & they will give me a number to call them direct..
Not sure if that will help you any or not..

I sent my package off the other day. This is what i sent to them 3 letters of support of our marriage from family & friends.
Copy of our car insurance renewed & expired with our names on it.
Copy of the title of our car.
Copy of our bank statements showing a joint account, i put about 6 statements varying over the past year. As wachovia was taken over by wells fargo.
Copy of our sam's club cards on a joint account.
Copy of our legal shield joint membership cards.
Copy of my drivers license with the home address on it.
Copy of my husbands ID card with the home address on it.
We don't have any utilities in our names as we both live with my husband's father as we take care of him. I didn't send any tax returns from last year on the advice I got from H & R Block telling me to file married but file separately. This year I have filed jointly. So if I get an RFE on that I will be ready for it.
I'm not gonna get myself worried for the lack of proof of our 2year marriage.

Well today not been a good day! My Green Card should have been delivered today & it never showed up. I have been tracking it for the past few days with USPS.. This morning it arrived at the sorting postal service & it was out on delivery.. When I got home it wasn't here! Talk about me being mad about this! I check on USPS online to track to see what happened, it says it was undeliverable as addressed, whatever that means has baffled me big time! My hubby has been home all day waiting for this! Yet I got my normal mail as usual.. I received my NOA I-797 yesterday, so how did I manage to get this & not get my Green Card?? I shall be making a few calls tomorrow morning....

I responded to the RFE & they received the package today 08/06.. So I hope I don't have to wait too long now for my green card. Just hope I gave them enough evidence for what they need. This part of the process has been stressful this time around. I had more problems with getting evidence together purely for the lack of it because for the past 2 1/2 years my hubby & I had been living with my hubby's father being both of us were his caregivers due to his health problems. Sadly he passed away a few months ago, so we had to find a home to rent & get bills in one of our names & get the evidence that we are living as a married couple. So got our bank statements with checking & savings account in both our names for the past 2yrs,

Tax return transcripts 2011-2012

Car Insurance policies past 2yrs both our names on it.

Car Title showing our names at new address.

Utility Bill showing one name on it. (they won't put both names onto it)

Bright House cable, phone & internet bill showing both our names.

Letter from Landlord of renting property.

Rent receipts of payments with both our names.

2 further affidavits from friends.

We don't have any health insurances (can't afford that just now)

Father in-laws death certificate.

Letter from Vitas Hospice Care who helped us care for our father.

So I'm hoping this is gonna be enough evidence as we don't have anything else to give them. We have only been renting our home for the past 5 months. We have no worries if they ask us for an interview. I did explain our circumstances for the past 2yrs in a cover note.

I am so bummed out got a letter from USCIS asking RFE from me. I didn't give enough evidence to support our marriage. I was kinda limited to support our marriage as we didn't have a place of our own, with no utilities in our names. We lived with my hubby's father for over 2yrs as we took care of him until he passed away a few months ago. We now have a place we rent & we have only been living there for 4months. I've asked my landlord to give me something in writing to say that we are renting from them. He didn't sound to keen on the idea. For further evidence I decided to give all of my bank statements for the past 2yrs +.... I'm also giving them our joint tax returns. I have a question on that matter of tax returns, is a photocopy ok? or does it have to be from the IRS?

I had a couple of family members & a friend do our support of marriage letters, but USCIS don't seem to have those letters in my paper work that I sent! So not sure what I'm supposed to do with that one! Should I do them again & have them notarized?

I kinda feel a bit deflated today...
