It does and it doesn't. Recently people have been getting a positive response within a week. (i.e. case entered into the system).

I'll keep calling this week and see long it takes.

Good luck to you!

So when your status is "NVC received", you must call Consulate in Kiev to schedule interview? It is not automatically scheduled? Wow, good thing this forum exists, or else I probably would have just waited and never have gotten an interview.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusKiev questions

Thank you.

I got told to call back Tuesday (holiday Monday) and they will most likely have the info to schedule the interview.

That is good news. I have a question for the medical interview, Do they assign you a date? or do you schedule it like the visa interview? Will the medical interview provide all necessary shots and papers for your fiancee or does your fiancee have to gather all the necessary shots and medical records BEFORE going to the medical interview?

Russia, Ukraine and Belarusmedical exam in kiev

Before. You can do it the DAY before the interview. Make the interview appointment first, then call the clinic to schedule the medical. Be aware...the clinic WAS closing on Wednesdays for a time, I do not know if they still are. Keep that in mind. Also the consulate was not doing interviews on Friday for a while, I am not sure if that is still the case. You may want to call the clinic and ask before making the interview appointment.

From the front (old part) of the trani station in Kiev, take the numner 198 little bus to the end of the line, go through the gate and the clinic is the first building on your left as you go up the walk. The start the exams at 8 or 8:30 and you get the results at 3pm the same day. They will tell you if you passed. They accept cash only, US Dollars, it was $125 last I heard and I have not heard of any increases as of lately.

Do they provide all necessary shots and medical documents? Or does the beneficiary have to gather all this before the medical exam. I just want to know if I should tell my fiancee to start getting all necessary shots now if it is the case?

Mox, I can tell that you read a lot by the way you write. Your writing is very thorough and you have really proven your points on atheism and religion.

As for government types. In a perfect world where everyone is good, communism is the best type of government. Of course this is impossible because there will always be human greed that corrupts communism. If we were all Vulcans like "Spock" from Star Trek, communism would rule the world perfectly. The biggest mistake Communists did was isolate itself from Capitalists. Maybe when humans evolve, the world will learn to appreciate communism more. In the future be prepared to see the rise of Communism again(Russia and China), but in a more positive way. Stalin was a paranoid ####, he killed everyone he felt was against him, not just Christians who interfered. If Stalin wanted to attack a religion, he would have done it the same way Hitler attacked Jews: make them wear a label(Star of David), put them in concentration camps, and murder them.

All in all, in conclusion. It is HATE, that destroys. HATE can be in politics, religion, or anything. It is HATE that drives extremism and fascism to kill people. Nothing wrong with all religions or governments until it encourages HATE against another type of religion or political view. It is HATE that makes the NICEST people do the DUMBEST things. For example: the USA(Best country in the world I love it) HATED the Soviet Union and Iran so much that they funded Osama Bin Laden to fight against the Soviets in Afghanistan and funded Saddam Hussein in Iraq against Iran. The USA didn't care who Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein was, all they cared about was they shared the HATE against the Soviet Union and Iran. I am sure there is a saying in every religion to what eventually happened later. I say,"What goes around, comes around."

I like Military History Channel. Especially if it's about World War 2. Only 70 years ago, which is not that long ago, over 60 million killed, the world was in complete chaos. Over 23 million people killed from the Soviet Union, that is nearly half of the total.
On religion. God created all creatures? What the hell was he thinking when he created Hitler?

Just goes to show everything is going online these days.
Although I guess this is something that has probably been there since the invention of the Internet.

I just hope they do it in a style describing a predator stalking its prey.

I met my fiancee through a marriage agency. Some people I have met are so quick to judge me as a "desperate loser" and her just an "opportunist". It is funny because I asked a couple of them how they met their wives. They told me at a bar. I asked them,"And how honest was that meeting?" My point is, there are so many situations to meet your future wife, and most of them start off as hiding something to gain an advantage over the other. Some women meet their future husbands just because of the car they drive or the clothes they wear. Marriage agencies are a much better way to find a bride then most other situations. There is no wrong way to meet your future wife. In fact it is better when both sides understand that they are looking for marriage and not just a fling. Relationships "mostly" start off as shallow anyways, if you are looking for marriage, you might as well look for it where you have the best selection for a wife.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusUkraine I'll Be Coming Soon!!!

Eddie, for future reference. USCIS and the consulates accept any reasonable transliteratrion of names. There is no need to change anything. Avoid calling USCIS anytime you can, you will almostnever get correct information (you still haven't) The visa will be issued in the name as in her international passport. End of story.

Alla does translations for them and names come spelled in all different manner...transliterated from Russian, transliterated from Ukrainian which was transliterated from Russian. It is virtually impossible to get someones name spelled the same, in English, on all the documents. No worries. One of our sons had his name spelled three different ways and the other two different ways despite trying everything to make them consistent. It never was an issue.

Thank you so much for letting me know about the name spelling. I just received my NOA2 HARDCOPY in the mail today and I would have been freaking out when I saw that they STILL haven't changed the spelling to how it is spelled in her Passport. I can't believe they haven't changed it after all those times I was trying to get their attention to change it. I guess it isn't that big of a deal after all.

Congrats Eddie and Liana,

But I am FN going crazy here to see this, another approval after Mar 11th. I know where you and Liana met because my fiancee and I met through the exact same agency several months before.

I wish you and Liana good fortune and happiness in life.

I'm about to go NUCKIN FUTS with this VSC thing. I think I will go pro-active and send in a suppliment of primary evedence of my second trip just to make sure our petition is still there. I spoke to USCIS on phone yesterday and he said if I had not heard anything by NOVEMBER  then they could put in a service request.
YOU GOTTA BE FN KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Dallas :innocent:

Thank you everybody and you too Dallas.

Dallas, don't worry, it seems that VSC takes a little longer to get things approved than the CSC. When I submitted the I-129F, Liana was still waiting for her passport because of the halt in production. When she finally received it.... They translated a letter in her last name different. Instead of a "y" they put a "i". So I had to call USCIS and they told me how to fix this. Unfortunately, the man on the phone misinformed me!!!! He told me to send a copy of her passport and a letter stating why I wrote it differently. A week later, the package was sent back to me. I was  #######?!?!?! So I called them again and the lady on the phone told me that I was misinformed.... All I had to do was tell her the new spelling on the phone and she gave me a reference number to it and that was all. And now I have NOA2 with everything correct. As I was waiting and looking at Igor's List Timeline, I did notice that I got approved a week later than other people who got NOA1 the same time as me. One couple who turned in their I-129F the same time as you, got approved in only 42 days at CSC!!!!!

I hope for the best of you both also, and don't worry. USCIS is processing much faster than usual in CSC and VSC. You will get yours any day now.

Hello everyone!!!
I just scheduled Liana's medical appt. on August 4 and her visa interview on August 5. Does anyone know if flights are cheaper on Friday the 13th?
I am planning on flying to Ukraine on the weekend of the 13th of August and just want to know if anyone had experience buying Friday the 13th tickets.

You need to fill out DS156 and DS156K. If you read, I forgot which one, either the USCIS or Ukraine embassy website, it says"As of Feb 26, 2010 the DS160 is replacing the DS156 EXCEPT FOR K VISA APPLICANTS who still need to fill out the DS156 and DS156K.

Russia, Ukraine and BelarusNAO2 what is next?

You are supposed to buy a PIN code to speak with someone. $12 for 8 minutes and id does NOT include phone sex! You will get to speak to a person. Here is what is funny...there are only two operators at the call center. Viktoria and Vitaly. When you buy a PIN and push numbers to buy a PIN, you get one of the operators...they take your credit card information and issue a PIN. Then they tell you to call back with the PIN. When you do, the SAME person answers!

That's exactly what happened to me!!! At first I thought,"Hey, this guy sounds alot like the last guy " And then I read your post, thought about it, and busted out laughing realizing this  .

"Anyway, last summer was real slow at the consulate and they were giving interviews on 3-5 days notice."
Since we have all the papers ready for the interview(I-134, police report) maybe I can get her interview scheduled sometime in July.

Good luck trying to get an interview in July. When I called on June 29th, they told me the earliest interview I could get was on August 5, hence my Liana's August 5th interview.

I will keep this in mind in January when it is so cold your eyeballs freeze in place and Alla mumbles "Tell me again, WHY don't we live in Hawaii?"

The times when I pay for tickets to Ukraine, I will be mumbling,"WHY don't we live on the east coast?" :bonk:
Speaking of tickets. I am meeting Liana in New York(JFK) on Sept. 3 and spending the night there. We will be stopping by the "city of lights", not Paris, Las Vegas for 2 nights on our way back to Hawaii. No, we are not getting married there. Just want her to see it.

Awesome!

Thanks for sharing. Just goes to show there's no need for overkill.

You sent that stuff in addition to an I-134, right? Also, not to be too nosy, but are you "comfortably over" the rate or are you close to it?

Thank you all!!! Yes, it was in addition to the I-134. I am "comfortably over" the rate, so maybe for those who are close to it should "overkill".

It seems like it was just yesterday, I was so sad and just gathering stuff for my petition. Now that my fiancee will finally see USA and especially my home in Hawaii, I am so happy.

On August 5, 2010 at 1130am Kiev time. My fiancee got approved for her K1 visa.

I just want to let everyone know, for financial support, that I did not send a letter from my employer and no tax transcripts. All I did was send my fiancee my 2009 W-2 and my last three paystubs. It was all good.

Has anyone called Aeroflot BEFORE they left?

I only called their customer service once to get my wife's ticket over here and they were pretty helpful. (Out of New York.) I'm assuming they'd be able to tell you based on your flight numbers and arrival/departure times what the correct procedure was even before you left.

It may not be 100% correct, but it's worth a shot, anyway.

My tip to any traveler is to become a Delta SkyMiles member. You can call their international number and speak to a real American at any time, day or night, and they'll run the numbers for you or figure out how to right your wrong as long as you know the "secret handshake" (aka your SkyMiles number). Aeroflot is a partner airline with them so you'd be in good shape calling them.

Thank you everyone for your response. I have taken safety measures by changing Liana's flight to a Delta direct flight from Kiev to New York on Sept 5. It was cheaper also. I don't want her first flight experience to be a bad one, she may never want to travel alone again. :o I have Hawaiian Air Miles and they are affiliated with Delta, so I get alot of miles!!!

We went to terminal E I think which was rather modern looking and after going inside with 200 pounds luggage our flight was not on the computer screen.

Are you saying that they won't automatically load baggage to the connecting flight there? Everyone has to pickup their luggage, go through customs, and then play a russian roulette with the terminals? Do Ukrainians need a visa just to get through the airport there?

I am very worried right now. I just booked tickets for Liana's first flight in her life. She is flying on Aeroflot from Kiev to Sheremetyevo to New York with a 4 hour layover there. I hope she does not get lost. I should have bought a direct flight with Aerosvit!!! Please someone give this thread some more input, and hopefully positive ones. I am about to change her tickets if it is that bad. I assumed that having her fly on Aeroflot and transferring in Sheremetyevo would be easy because of the language, but this sounds like a nightmare. :help:

Thank you Gary and Alla. I agree most Ukrainian women are very sincere. I say "most" because there are always a few bad apples. ;)

I am so happy to have found the love of my life who has the best of Eastern and Western society characteristics, my Lianochka. I can't wait to marry her and have a family with her.

We wait for our NOA2 now. We are patient now because this gives her some time to spend with her family everyday. She understands that when she comes to Hawaii, we will probably only visit Ukraine a maximum of 3 weeks every year. :(

Hello everybody,
My name is Eddie(petitioner)I am new here. I just mailed my I-129F petition on March 27. San Niguel Processing Center received it on March 29. They cashed my check on March 31 and I just received the hard copy NOA1 today on April 2.
I am impressed how quickly it is going so far, faster than average.
My concern is: On question 18 on how I met my fiancee, I only put a brief description, I filled the size of the space allowed on the form itself. I read here that I should have put at least one page.
Will I get an RFE?
You see I met my fiancee through a marriage broker: Worldbestbrides.com affiliated with Khersongirls.com. So I also put the marriage agency information on question 19. I then attached letters of correspondence through the agency including letters of introduction. I hope that they can see that with all this evidence, it is sufficient. Of course I also sent them: 20 photos with me and my fiancee Liana
copies of every page of my passport with stamps at Kiev, Ukraine
Travel itinerary
cover letter
G-325A (petitioner and fiancee) each with passport style photos
I-129F
Certificate of Naturalization
$455

My other question is: Ukraine has it's own language but my fiancee always writes in Russian, She filled Question 16
in Russian, not Ukrainian. Is this a problem(RFE)?
Please give me your advice/opinions, especially if you have a Ukrainian fiance(e) too.

Thank you in advance,
Eddie and Liana
