Caribbeanage at time of filing petition

I'm sure it's not..its just that in Santo Domingo they like to make it difficult from what I've heard. But from you guys experience this shouldn't be a concern anymore. were in the same situation Mariel! keep me posted with your process that way I can get some tips :)

CaribbeanI AM THE AGENT

Well my friend it seems to me you got VERY lucky because I've seen plenty of people get RFE's for not signing that part. The person that looked at it either missed it or was being extremely nice. They expect the intending immigrant to sign it since in reality the application is pertaining to the immigrant.

so is that goingto bring me any problems at the consulado???

CaribbeanI AM THE AGENT

Hello Everyone,

I am new here and what a process!!!! I am my husband's agent, and will receive all documents pertaining to our case. We just completed the DS230 and am waiting for the link to make payment. When I send off this form and all the supporting documents do I need his original signature on the DS230 and actual passport size pictures and original bc and marriage license?

I appreciate and await your replies.....

hi Josmar, like steph said you need his police cetificate, original BC, original MC, two pictures and your BC the first pat of the ds230 has to be signed but i didnt sign it the second part its not signed untilthe interview.
i just pass through NVC and you could do all this very qquick if you are on top of things, and get your a june intervie :)

CaribbeanI AM THE AGENT

Hi josmar! Welcome to VJ! :star:

I am assuming you mean you just completed DS-3032? If so, you should be getting an email of acceptance from NVC soon and then you will be able pay and send your DS-230 packet.

You will need his original signature on JUST part 1. Part 2 must remain unsigned.

Yes you will need the passport pictures.

You will need ORIGINAL/CERTIFIED BC of your husband and ORIGINAL/CERTIFIED MC (marriage certificate). Just a friendly reminder, as long as they're in Spanish they do not need to be translated.

I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this thread: http://www.visajourn...ers-april-2012/

It will get you through NVC. Make sure you read the first two posts on the thread and ask any questions as needed.

I just got through NVC about a month ago and will be having my cita on May 4th. Glad you found VJ, you will be done with the process soon!

Best of Luck! (F)

steph so if the ds-230 has to be signed. if the aplicant is not here how is he supposeto sign it??? yes the same way we did for ds3032 but on my ds230 part 1 i did not sign anything i just dated it and left the signature part blank and they still took it

CaribbeanInterview

Better yet passport stamps showing entries which is more than likely what the CO will be asking for at the interview.

so just bring my passport that i would do anyways so they can see all the stamps i still have the same passport :)

Looks good, but i think you need to change 1 thing:

1) Airline Ticket Stubs are better than flight reservations with could have been canceled!

Good Luck

yes like the airline ticker receipt

Caribbeaninterview anxieties

I don't think you can pick it up at the consulate. You have to go to the central office of Domex, which is in the capital. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

i belive its DOMEX so im picking it up since i live in the capital :)

Caribbeaninterview anxieties

My interview is on May 14th. So like you, I am also hoping that we receive the Visa in less than a week, so my Fiancee and daughter can come back to the states with me! I strongly recommend everyone here to opt for pickup of their visas, (unless it is better for you to have it delivered to your home).

But there are certain risks with having it delivered to your home, apart from taking too long, there is always the chance it might never reach its destination! So to be safe (and quick about it) I would certainly pick it up at their office. My daughter's American passport was suppose to arrive in a month.

I opted for pickup, and received the passport in exactly 8 days. The Visa usually arrives in 2 weeks (if there isn't any problems) or longer if there are problems. If you opt for pick of the visa, you can most likely have it in your hands within 3 or 4 days.

I want to wish everyone the BEST and all of the luck in this universe on their upcoming interviews. We will all get approved!

thanx Speeds i will pick it uo at the consulate because its faster and of course more secure so thats what im doing.... im praying thta i get the visa fast so he can come with me

My interview is May 10th...im very anxious as well but im trying to get all the evidence as possible..be positive about it and just be natural at the interview, and about visa issued domex is very unpredictable and im praying that husband gets his visa in hand less than a week so he can come with me :)

CaribbeanK1-K2 interview day questions & concerns

GM my dear VJ friends :D

Even though we are ready for the interview, (my fiance only needs his medical exam/vaccines done, police certificate, and banco popular receipts), there are some questions I need to ask in regards to that day. If you guys can help me with these questions (some may be absurd) or even any personal input / advice will be highly appreciated!

Dress code & children
1. Business casual is fine for adults, but do children have to wear closed toe shoes for the interview? Or can they be open toe?

2. Does it get hot in there?

3. Is it true that they allow families with children (toddler in my case) to get in first? & Am I allowed to bring inside her bottle or no drinks from outside allowed?

Interview questions & concerns
I have read 90% of the embassy reviews and I have found alot of helpful information. But I still have these questions.

1. The banco popular receipts can only be paid the business day before the interview? Or it can be paid a few days before the interview?

2. Could they ask me questions about why I was born in Puerto Rico? I really wouldn't want to involve my parents journey from Higuey to Puerto Rico. Even though my mother is a USC and my dad a Permanent US Resident..

3. My fiance and I met in person in 2009, we don't have any pictures because I was dating someone here and he was seeing someone out there, we only kept in contact through MSN, we didn't start dating until August 2011. Do you think this may create some red flags and have them think it's too soon to get married since we got engaged in October 2011? I have traveled 4 times in the last 8 months and has met the majority of my family (he has pictures with them including my mom, aunts, uncles, grandmom, etc.) Hopefully that helps.

4. I don't have any copies of my boarding passes, just the receipts, is it okay with just showing proof of the passport stamps?

- I can't think of anything else I need to ask..I know these questions may have been answered before but I could use some peace of mind

i dont think they wouldask you why were you born in PR... i was born in PR they never asked me why or how although my mom has been a legal immigrant since shes a little girl and she petitionedmy dad so i dont think they would ask yu anything about that but if they do just tell them whatever your truth is :)

USCIS Service Centersvsc phone number

It gets more stressful than this? OMG just waiting for the noa2 is a stress so I can imagine for the interview um going to need a barrel of brugal to get thru this

NOOOOO ahora es que viene lo bueno de todo esto..after NOA2 everything is way better but you gotta be qucik and have everything super prepared and double check evrything
MarielManuelFemaleDominican Republic2012-05-31 21:42:00
USCIS Service Centersvsc phone number

I'm guessing vj's timeline is a little off as well not too sure because I was expecting to get a response last week according to vj and I look now and its expected next week as far as everything for NVC that's ready to go has been ready since I started the process from the money needed to all the original documents the only thing to be taking for ever is the noa2 but who knows my bday is Tuesday maybe that will be my bday surprise this year...finally hearing from them

On another note anyone knows the estimate time from when I receive the noa2 until the interview date and finally approval? I just want my husband next to me I feel like this distance is putting a strain on our relationship eventhough I travel to c him every 3 months its not the same as having your spouse next to you everyday and night

it rally depends on you..how fast you send docs and pay the reuired fees...after NOA2 is sent it will take about two weeks for NVC to receive you case and provide a case number after that they will invoice thet Affidavit fee..it will tae a few days no longer thana week after they receive your case you have to send the DS3032 and AOS as soon as you can;..when they receive it will take some days less than a week for them to invoice the DS230 and the fee then after all is paid and sent and they receive they complete the case within a couple of dyas like 4 to 5 business days....and then just wait for a cita thats the worst waiting it takes not more than foru weeks depending when your cas is complete but it is a stressfull waiting
MarielManuelFemaleDominican Republic2012-05-31 10:24:00

Europe & Eurasia (except the UK and Russia)Traveling to Europe

Hello, I would like some help. My husband has the 2 yeard green card, which we are sending the I-751 in mid Feb to start the process for the new card. We are planning a trip to Switzerland, France and Italy. We would be landing at Switzerland and then coming back from Switzerland as well? With him being a resident of the US, would he need any permission to enter Europe. Like for example, a visa to enter those countries?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionIs scrapbook ok for interview?

 I figured they are very attentive to younger couples and it doesnt help that i am 21 lol. But i am preparing now; better safe than sorry. :D

i dont think age is an advantage or a disadvantage when i filed i was 19 and for the interview 20 hubby is 22 and we had no problem with that....the only question we were asked was if we were married before and if we had any kids that the only two questions that i would think were in someway related to age...like for exmple if i was married before he would ask at what age i married before you know what i mean?? but the only important thing is the relationship between you and your love one.. if its true or nott

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionHow does NVC chose interview date?
love dont feel like that..i think that they dont have a certain patten of scheduling appointments i though you would get an earlier date like july 11th or 12th something like that but hey Gor knows what hes doing and hes doing what is better for you :) pluss a friend that works at the consulate told me a few days before of the interview that NVC regulafrly all year long schedules 400 to 600 hundred intervies per day but summer season they schedules 900 to 1000 interviews thats a lot of interviews so maybe thats why:)
