IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresDS-230 and Police Cert
Saudi Arabia PCC does not contain expiration date either, I have this VJ'er buddy who had a problem with NVC because his PCC from Saudi has no expiration date. I am sure he wasn't the first applicant from Saudi and NVC must be aware that Saudi Arabia does not issue a PCC with expiration date or even a note that the certificate is good for 6 months or 12 months, it has only the date of issuance. Now I am worried that I will have the same problem.

I scheduled and attended my medical without problem before I got my interview date.

The London Embassy medical FAQs state:

Why I am being asked to schedule the medical examination when the Embassy has not yet scheduled the visa interview? The medical results will be valid for 12 months and it will help to speed up the final processing of your application if we have received them before your the visa interview, however, it is not compulsory.

Dom

Good to go for your advance medical then, If your medical is valid for 12 months. good.gif

If I am not absolutely 100% positive , I wouldn't suggest/recommend anything. Sir, I have seen you post some inaccurate information which can be a ground for delay in immigration/NVC processing...Anyways, what does medical have to do with PCC? OP is concerned about medical, if I'm not mistaken..

If you got an RFE with some of the requirements during NVC period, defifnitely you will be delayed, I used the PCC as an example because that's what happened to my pal in Riyadh, he got delayed at NVC for 4 months because of PCC that does not contain expiration date. In Saudi Arabia the Medical certificate expires within 3 months, so what do you think would hapen next, if my friend made an advance medical exam?

What application receipt? was it the NOA-2 or the approval? Case Number will be given from NVC. These numbers that starts with WAC is the USCIS receipt number, you will be needing this one by the time you got an approval from USCIS and you will call NVC after a week approximately to ask for your case number.
Good luck!!

You're case might arrive at NVC after a week or more, then call NVC to this number 603-3340700 or let your husband call the NVC to get your Case number. As the beneficiary, you are the one who will fill up the DS-3032, you can e-mail it to NVC just like what other folks here do and send it by Postal mail too.

I understand your situation there, it's realy hard to wait especially when you know or feel that the cause of these delays is neligence. It sounds more odd knowing that your husband was a police officer then. As far as I know one month is the longest processing for PCC.
Here in Saudi Arabia, they can give your PCC after a couple of days. In the Philippines after an hour.

I hope everything will be fine with you out there, there's nothing you can at this time but keep your patient alive.

Good luck!!

Ignore the AVR, somehow it just leave you confused and frustrated if you will believe what the AVR will tell you.
Print out the forms and gather all the required documents then send it to NVC. It is clear that the information written on the site where you prin out the AOS cover sheet that you follow the link provided below.

Hello my fellow VJ members,

I have paid the AOS bill ($70U.S. dollars) and have printed the cover sheet. I now find myself a bit confused and lost wacko.gif because I have read in the forums here, that once the NVC shows your AOS bill as "paid" status, they will send the I-864 package home with instructions. However, when I printed the cover sheet it clearly states that I just needed to follow the "Affidavit of Support" instructions link and proceed from there...Which one is it? Wait for something to come via U.S. mail or follow the instructions on the cover sheet?

I have printed the I-864EZ, which is the form I qualify for and have most of the docs required but I just need some guidance. I forgot to call the NVC to ask them myself today, so I thought of asking my VJ family members here and hope I can get an answer tonight. I don't want to make a mistake, please help.

Another question about this process is, once the NVC receives my I-864EZ package, will their next step be: billing me the Immigrant Visa application process of $400 U.S. dollars?

Thanking you in advance,

Lizz and Mohamed

You do not have to wait on the snail mail. Just follow the link and do the I-864EZ if you qualify. To know when to pay the IV fee, just visit the same login area on the state dept. website (just like AOS bill) and you will see the status. P.S. You can send off the AOS package on its own with supporting docs. e.g. tax returns for at least 3 years etc. or you can wait on the IV package to send it off with supporting docs e.g. DS-230, marriage certi. birth certi of both, police certi, 2 passport size picture of benificiary etc.

Thank you for your fast response.

Are you sure I can send the AOS & IV package together? I thought that we had to send the AOS package first before we can move on to the next step the IV fee??? I do have the AOS package along with most of the supporting docs like: 6months of check stubs, copies of the last 3yrs. of income tax returns, employer letter(waiting to receive it), bank statements and/or assests???

Please clarify. I have also been checking the NVC website to see if I can pay the IV fee and to date, there is no change. I wonder, if that perhaps me holding on to the AOS package this is what is causing the delay in them not sending me the IV fee???? HELP!

Thank you.

Lizz and Mohamed

I

They will not send you anything, follow the link that they provided at the bottom of the AOS receipt, download all the required forms and gather all the required documents then send it to NVC.
In our case, because we have an atty the AOS bill and IV bill were generated at the same time.

I am a US citizen, and my fiance is a South African citizen. He's currently working on a island as a dive instructor. Our plan is to get married on a island sometime in January. I have been doing research on the different visas, and i've come to a conclusion that the CR1 is probably the best one for our situation. The waiting period was 6 - 8 months, so I was told. But I have been reading it could take longer than a year. Is there anyway he could come any sooner while everything is being processed? Any suggestions? Thank you soooooo much, this is starting to become very overwhelming. Also, i'm pretty sure we're going to end up paying for an attorney.
