K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Call Your Congressman!	240 days here. Did everything I could think of. Congressman said Was going to get an rfe. So far no news after 2 weeks. I think emailing NPR ( national public radio ) if they get enough people maybe they would talk about it would trigger more reaction / pressure from USCIS. At least going to try. I'm really, really sorry to hear you've been waiting so long That's truly awful. Sending good vibes your way. And this is exactly why others (with hopefully more helpful representatives) should keep harassing them. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Call Your Congressman!	Thanks, Karen. There are people popping up quite a lot saying 'Woah, I got my NOA2 in a month! Weird!' And its like yeah.. Good for you pal, but really that's amazing, but really what?! (In precisely that sort of 'Eh?!' thought process in my mind!) Where others are sitting on 230 days and counting. Makes you want to tear your hair out! We all just want to get on with our lives. All the best to you Hi Mairead(?) Just wanted to say, fair play to you. I think you're absolutely right and love the way you worded your thoughts on the issue. The system is failing its original goals and intentions. Also, the erratic way that some applications are processed with no apparent reason must be so frustrating for people. I appreciate that there are sheer volumes of applications to deal with but for some types of applications to suffer delays because there is a push on to address other visa types per politics (ie DACA), and for people to see other applications posted one if not two months after theirs getting approval when they still haven't heard anything themselves, is a genuine cause for concern. Once someone at USCIS starts to look at a case, it would be great if there was a notification that it's come to the top of the pile at least. As it is, it just disappears into this black hole that can take anywhere from 5 to 8 months with no word in the interim and no opportunity to ask because they can simply leave their estimated processing times as far back as they choose. We applied in November to CSC and they haven't updated their estimated processing times since 5th February although they say they like to update it on the 15th of each month. So, people who applied on 19th July are now waiting almost 8 months but still cannot enquire and have to watch as some people who filed in August receive their approval. I'm sure individuals at USCIS work as hard as they can but the system needs some overhauling by the looks of it. And its down to the people in charge to do that. If enough people bring attention to this via their Congressman/woman then that can only be a good thing. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Call Your Congressman!	Hi everyone, I am the UK beneficiary waiting on my NOA2 at this time. After contacting his congressman about the visa processing issues, my fiancé got a call yesterday from an apparently very pleasant and helpful representative who promised to help investigate the K1 visa processing times. Now I'm absolutely not jumping up and down saying that I should have my case processed before anyone else, but I DO hope that by speaking up we can help reform the system by some small degree, to the benefit of all. Particularly in times like this where government/public sector cuts are being made, if people don't make a bit of noise and make their representatives aware that this is a problem, the system is not likely to get better any time soon, rather the opposite. Our thoughts were as follows: My fiancee and I realise there are considerable waiting times involved when applying for a K1 Visa with USCIS. However, these processing times seem to be extremely erratic and are becoming longer all the time, at all the processing centres. The K1 visa was designed so that couples and families did not have to spend large spaces of time apart, but this system seems to be failing, and I would like to register my concern over this. It is hard for both my fiancee and I to plan our living arrangements, employment and personal life when the process is so hard to predict. I am registering this complaint with our case in mind, but also in the hopes that the visa system will be made more efficient and fair across the board. Our case is being processed by the Vermont Service Centre, and the receipt number is: Bla bla bla bla. Aaaand suuuuure. I've seen other people being somewhat slated for this kind of call to action; 'it won't help', 'your case won't be processed any faster' etc.. Well, even if it doesn't help me, I hope that in whatever small way possible perhaps our one contribution will join many other voices in bringing attention to this matter. Does that mean then, 1-11 months? or is it like 6 months, +/- 3 months, or 6 months, +/- 5 months. They gave a range plus a variation to the range because this really is how erratic the system can be. Some people are extremely lucky and get processed extremely quickly, others.. I'm afraid California Service Center is just working reeeeeaaally slowly at the moment. If you read through all the other posts on the forum and look through the immigration timelines, you'll notice that Vermont is processing really quite quickly, and California is almost at a dead stop. I suggest you buckle in and expect a wait of at least another couple of months, if not more. HOW LONG DOES SECURITY CHECK TAKE? IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT WE CAN DO ABOUT IT...?? its been 7 months already!!!!!!!!!!!! its ridiculous... HELP...... btw. my fiance is gonna call uscis today anyway. What was the result of your fiance's call? Did you get any further information? As the other response says, at least they've actually 'touched' your case, and have something to say about it.. I'm not entirely sure what the security check means, but yeah.. Keep calling. Thanks for all the help guys... Ok, first of all.. Do this by clicking on 'immigration timelines' on the top right of the page, and filling in your timeline. This will then give you an estimate of how long your processing time will be. You will have to put in the date of your NOA1 (February 25th). If you filed in February with the Vermont Service Centre you're likely looking at a 6 month wait before you hear anything. However, this can change. It may be quicker but most likely longer. Take time read through different posts on the forum and also.. You will feel more prepared if you do some research on this website. There is lots of information, and people are happy to help as well, but definitely do the basic research about waiting times, service centres, your particular country's embassy etc.	maireadtravins	Female	Scotland	2013-04-01 12:21:00

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Called USCIS :)	So I called USCIS and waited 38 minutes for a tier two officer who was so pleasant and helpful - she put me on hold and said she called Vermont and was told my case is with an adjudicator and I should most definitely have an answer by the end of the month. I told her which is true i have been offered a new position but do not want to change jobs before I know we are approved and know when the interview will take place so i can arrange my time off. today is 193 days - I pray for all of us out there in this boat. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	Fiance Visa Status Please help!!	We applied in late October 2012 and we're still waiting.. I don't expect to have my visa in hand until some time in July at the earliest. The current wait time for NOA2 seems to be between 6 and 7 months for most people at the Vermont Service Centre, and then of course there is further waiting for it be sent to NVC and on to the embassy.. Medical, interview, etc. All in all I expect the whole process to take around 8 or 9 months.   You might be very lucky, but a September wedding could be risky.
