for immigrant visa because she was petitioned by my husband last november 2011

i was also filed last november 2011 on a fiance visa but we cancelled it due to failure to meet personally within the two year time frame

then we planned to proceed on a spousal visa application this time
iam left behind now

thats why i wanted to check everything to avoid future rfe's or denial

Right now according to MANILA US EMBASSY website --walk ins are no longer allowed.

We were still waiting till now for our NOA2 then suddenly i was shocked to know that my fiance failed to check the infos in the NOA 1 and the error was my birthdate it should be mar 19 not 21 now what is the best thing to do???

I had the same problem regarding with DS230 before.I hope i could help u.My Ds230 was returned to me because of #2 and 20.

In # 2. Among the four names that your wife used, what is the name she uses in all of her documents? What is her name in her passport?what is her name when you filed the petition.Since married women in Nicaragua does'nt use their husband's lastname, you should put the name she uses in all her documents like Birth Certificate, Married Certificate, police clearance, etc.

In #20. Since your wife is still living in the same address or place, You should start your date from the time she reached the age of 16 for Example she reached the age of 16 on July 22, 1996. You will put July 22, 1996- Present

To make sure, better call NVC at 603-3340700

There are lots of RFE cases here in VJ. In Ness and Keith case. She had an RFE because of #2.And she was asked to put the initials of her maiden name. In my case its different. This really is a case to case basis. As i've posted earlier it depends upon the person reviewing your case. So When you receive your RFE checklist, you have to ask NVC what the missing informations are.

Hi djturbo,

Did your wife applied for her passport before she married you? Or she got a passport after you two got married? In my case, it matters when i answered #2 (Other Names used, put maiden name if married). Its very clear right? So I put my maiden name. I got an RFE for this.

The NVC told us(me and my husband both called to ask for clarification) that i should put my married name instead of maiden name. I did not applied any passport when i was single. So it means that if your wife applied for her passport before she married you(indicating on her passport her maiden name), she has to put her maiden name in #2. But if your wife applied for her passport after she married you, she has to put her married name in # 2.

Please always verify all infos with NVC. I think all RFE's depends on the one reviewing your case.

I put my complete married name in #2. No initials. and it was approved.

Have you received an RFE letter from NVC?

I think N/A in #2 is acceptable since you applied for your first passport after you got married. i read a post here in VJ that says NVC told him to write N/A in # 2. Besides you were not marked red in #2. I dont think that NVC overlooked your N/A in #2. You cannot make 'lusot' easily with NVC.

They are very strict with documents and DS30 entries. AS long a you follow the checklist you receive, you're good to go. So dont worry, your case will be completed soon.
