Asia: East and PacificCalling all Malaysians
Hey Carla,
I just read your post today. I am from Sabah, Malaysia but have been residing in Texas, USA for almost two years now. Oh, how I miss my family, friends and of course the food. :( . My American husband David is really such a wonderful person and I do love it here too. Anyway, you might want to consider visiting Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. We have so many beautiful islands there namely Manukan Island, Sapi Island, Mamutik Island... just to name a few. Don't miss a trip to the breathtaking National Park which is situated at the foot of Mount Kinabalu (the highest mountain in South East Asia). Here's a website that you can visit www.sabahtourism.com and might be of help to you. Hope this help. I wish you and your husband a pleasant and safe trip to Malaysia Carla. Hope both of you will have a memorable and enjoyable trip. Take care.

My Le,
Sorry to about your bad ordeal. But it's a good thing that you and your wife are ok. It could have been worst. We live in Austin, Texas and I hear crimes like this happen once in a while. Best of luck in OH.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionGreen Card in maiden name
Hello everyone,

First of all let me wish you all a Very Happy and Blessed New Year 2007.

Now, I have a question which I believe some of you good members out there will be able to help me with.

My husband and I will be going to submit our I-751 in March 07(my 2 yr GC will expire in June 07). My name written in my green card is in my maiden name but I was thinking of putting my married name when we fill up the Form I-751 on Part 1. ...Information about you. And put my maiden name in Part 3..... Additional Information about you....1. Other Names Used (including maiden name).

My driver's license & Social Security card are all in my maiden name cos when we first applied for them, they followed the name written in the green card.

My question is...... will it be a problem to do this??? I mean to put my married name in the form I-751 when my green card is in my maiden name???

Have anyone of you got the same problem as mine??? Any ideas, suggestions, comments are most appreciated.

Thank you so much for your help.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTo File I-751 next week - March 8, '07
Hello everyone,
Now it's our turn to file my I-751 next week (March 8th). I have gathered most of my supporting documents, just need to organize and assemble them and maybe look through them thoroughly before we send them out. My two year GC will expire on June 8th, 07 and we have planned for a three weeks' vacation to Malaysia on the last week of May till mid June. So when I get back from our vacation, my GC would have expired. But I'm hoping I will get an extension letter before we leave for the vacation.

Can anyone here assist me to look through the following evidences whether there are enough to support the removal of conditions of my Permanent Resident status? Here goes :-

1) A covering letter signed by me (the petitioner)
2) Complete I-751 signed by me and my husband (USC)
3) A $275 check for the petition and biometrics services fee
4) Copy of my Permanent Resident card (front & back)
5) Copy of my passport
6) Certified true copy of Change of Name (from maiden to married name)
7) Copy of two months Checking & Saving Accounts Statements
8) Copy of our Credit cards (showing the same account number)
9) Copy of Life Insurance Policy (showing I am the primary beneficiary)
10) Copy of Retirement Plan
11) Copy of Health Insurance
12) Copy of IRS Transcript - 2004-2006 Federal Tax Returns File jointly
13) Copy of Drivers Licenses (showing the same home address)
14) Copy of Car Insurance (showing both our names)
15) Copy of my past pay stubs (showing home address)
16) Copy of my student loan documents which my husband (USC) is the co-borrower
17) Copy of Verizonwireless statements (only my husband's name on bill but it shows
family share plan)
18) Copy of our previous travel documents and an airfare invoice for a vacation that we
have planned in May 2007.
19) Envelopes that were addressed to both of us (showing same home address)
20) Photos (trips, vacations, family pictures etc.)

Well guys, do you think that these documents are more than enough or have I missed out something? Would appreciate your responds. Thank you so much :) .

I am not sending affidavits either. I think we have more than enough evidences to support our petition. We are filing ours next month. Good luck Rislam.

Can't help wondering... you sent a check of $205.00 and they cashed it out? Isn't it supposed to be $275.00? We're mailing ours tomorrow to TSC and we're enclosing a $275 check.

Thanks guys....
Yes Tweety, my case number (which starts with "SRC") does work with the USCIS case status online system. I have also created an account just so I could check on it every now and then. I'm sorry that yours does not work.... But you got the extension letter and the biometrics appointment letter so I guess you have nothing to worry. Good luck.

Yep.... the letters we've been waiting for finally arrived today. I was at work when my dear hubby called me up and told me the good news. I am scheduled for a biometrics on April 7th... at San Antonio, TX. It's about 50 minutes' drive from where we live. I have been sooooo waiting for this letter cos we will be going for a vacation to Malaysia towards the end of May. Yaaayyyyyy..... I am so happy

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionOnline status changed after biometrics appointment
Just want to update with you guys that my biometrics appointment went really great last Saturday. My appointment was supposed to be at 2pm but I arrived at the centre at 1.25pm. I presented my appointment letter to this nice friendly guy at the reception. He read it and stamped something on it and asked for my ID. Then he asked me to fill up two types of form... After I finished filling them up and gave them back to him, he gave me a number which immediately was called. Again another nice and friendly guy took my finger prints and photos. And that's it. It went well, I should say. The guy who took my finger prints and photo was nice enough to let me see the picture he took and asked whether I like my picture or not... I made him took my pictures three times  He even complimented that my perfume smelled good...I was using Christian Dior's Jadore... The funny thing is.. I was out of the centre at 1.50pm and my appointment was supposed to be at 2.00pm. Wasn't that great??

Anyway, when I checked my status online just now... it has changed from "Case received and Pending" to "Petition to Remove Conditions of PR Status Received".... and it's dated today April 9th. My biometrics appointment was on April 7th.

I guess my case has been touched, huh. Has anyone out there experienced the same online status?

Nope, you don't have to be there. Tell your wife not to forget to bring the Appointment Letter, her ID and it might not be a bad idea to bring her green card too although they didn't ask for mine when I went for my biometrics appointment last Saturday. My appointment was supposed to be at 2pm but I arrived early at 1.35pm and was immediately attended to. I was out of the centre within 20 minutes... it wasn't even 2pm yet. Overall, it went really well.

Yes Black_DogHarry, it looks exactly like that when I checked my "case status" but when I log on to my account... it only says "Petition To Remove Conditions of Permanent Resident Status Received". And when I checked just now, it seems that they have touched my case again cos the date has changed to today's April 10th. I think you should create an account so that you will know when your case has been touched.
