Hello Everyone!

After a year of waiting since denial of petition (K1) and several months since we appealed, my fiance received a letter from USCIS stating that our case FINALLY has been reconsidered...Anyone who can advice if this is good news and something to look forward to???

Thank you in advance!

Good Luck! My prayers are with you two! If you dont mind me asking, why did they deny you in the first place?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionTransfer K1 visa between embassy
Hey guys.. just want to tell you that that happened to me. My fiances home country is the Philippines but has been living in Aruba for 10 years. His work permit expired and he was appealing it through Aruba.. so we knew that he had to travel back to the Philippines for the interview process. NVC sent our case to Caracas, Venezuela because he lives in Aruba..instead of Manila. We had to e mail both embassy offices and request our file be transferred. It was electronically transferred the same day and we were able to schedule our interview a few weeks later. I was so frustrated and sad because we had no answers. No one even replied to our e mails I called the Dept of State and they told us it had already been in Manila for a week! So, dont worry. We have a CRS # instead of a MNL# but that doesnt matter at all. We are all set for our interview on Dec 21 smile.gif Just thought I would share..
Good Luck

Nope! I had a GREAT time in Cebu with the only scammer I ran into. Cost me a couple K but it was worth EVERY centavo. Best 2 weeks I ever had until I met my current wife!!! good.gif

Haole
so is the scammer you ran into a nigerian ?? I dont understand why people like you have to judge all nigerians. There are crazy people and scammer all over the world so i dont think nigeria is the only country where scammer reside. I am from nigeria and i am not a scammer so next time just answer the question and keep your opinion to yourself. thanks you

No she was from the Philippines. I did go a few rounds with a nigerian scammer also. No cpmplaints as she was a hot lady also.Nothing wrong with scammers as long as you scam them back and have fun doing so!

Haole- I was searching through your posts and couldnt find it. Did you already tell your story about your Filipina scammer? Id be interested to read about it

PhilippinesAnyone?

Thank you so much for your reply.. im so glad everything went smoothly for you. He will remain in Aruba until we receive the NOA2 and then he will head home. So I guess either way it doesnt matter where they send it, because we DID put that we will be going through the Consulate in Manila. And his Grandmother lives at the address he put down in the Phillippines. I will however change his current address with the USCIS incase they send it to Aruba. Ugh its so confusing having 3 different countries involved. Again, Thank you so much, its good to know there are others our there with a similar situation.

So the address in Aruba? We are going to have to notify them of his change of address then obviously, right?

PhilippinesAnyone?
Hi everyone! I just have a question.. anyone have a case where the beneficiary is living in a country other than their home country where the US Embassy will be processed through?

Reason I ask is my fiancee is in Aruba, but will be going home to the Philippines for his interview. Our NOA 2 is only a few months away and I was curious to where they would send the information for him, to Aruba or Philippines?

To make things even more complicated, he will be moving as of Sept 1st...to another apartment in Aruba.. only for a few months before he goes home to the Phillipines..so do we need to do a change of address?

The reason we did not go through the embassy in Venezuela is because he is not a resident of aruba, they did not approve his renewal of his work permit, eventhough he has been there for 9 years. But he is currently in appeals with that.. Nothing is easy! Especially waiting... I know everyone knows that! I just dont want any confusion with anything when the NOA 2 does evenutally come. Any replies would be greatly appreciated, I read through VJ for hours and hours on end and I decided I should just write and ask and see if anyone can help. Thank you all in advance and God Bless

I am also in the same boat.. We filed May 31st and our NOA1 date is June 3. But, I filed with VSC.. They basically have the same processing times as CSC? I also can not find the link .. But good luck to everyone.. Im getting anxious eventhough we have a few months to go. But Ive been passing the time trying to figure out the steps to do after the NOA2. Its all so overwhelming! Im still having a bit trouble understanding exactly what happens next.

hi...a follow-up..i got this link from Sheriff Uling's post stating:

Petitioners Attendance at the Visa Interview: The petitioner is NOT required to attend the visa interview with the beneficiary, and will NOT be asked any questions during the visa interview. In fact, some COs request for the petitioner to continue waiting in the lobby. Approximated 90% of the visa interviews are held WITHOUT the attendance of the petitioner, according to VJ member(s).

On the contrary, i found this http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Philippines&cty=Manila stating
Can fiance(e)/spouse attend the interview? Yes
Visa fee payment "same day" or "in advance"? Advance
Did the embassy schedule your interview or could you walk-in? Walk-in or Schedule
Visa issued same day? No

im confuse now..who's right then???

Its up to the individual consular officer whether you are allowed into the actual interview room with your fiancee. You cannot be denied from entering the embassy and waiting with your fiancee.

I was actually asked questions by both the pre-screener and the consular officer.

I highly recommend attending the interview with your fiancee. It will put her at ease and, assuming everything is in order, virtually guarantee your approval. They did not ask for any proof of an ongoing relationship from us ... no pictures, emails, phone records were asked for or provided.

We asked if we could pick up the visa instead of having it delivered. We picked it up just 2 days after the interview. Then we were able to fly back to the US together which was really cool (and not having your fiancee have to go through the POE alone is another plus).

So how long did you allow yourself in the Philippines? Did you go just for the interview, then fly back a few weeks later? I would love to go with my fiance to his interview, im just not sure the amount of time I should be there before I can take him home with me smile.gif

Hi JosMeg12!

I have a Belgian friend here named Benoit Nicolay, he and his wife Cathy make and sell Belgian chocolates. (Benoit is a chocolatier based here in Parañaque City.)

You should visit his website. Not only is his chocolate delicious, but you can be assured of great value for your money. They are in very pretty and sophisticated-looking packaging. Am sure your girl's Tita will be pleased. smile.gif

I am wondering if all Filipinas shaves their legs?
Wifey doesn't and I don't really see her legs being hairy. blink.gif
It's like she had waxed them when she was a baby.
Though compared to most women here, shaving legs is a priority.
They spend most of their money for shaving creams, laser hair removals, bikini wax and shaving razors.
It's odd but just wanna know..

I am marrying a filipinO man, and I know he doesnt shave his legs smile.gif But, I do have to say that he has THE softest skin I have ever felt in my life. He has barely no hair on his arms or legs. I am very envious!

I just went through this.. They sent our file to Venezuela, because my fiance was living in Aruba.. instead of the Philippines where he is a citzen. We had to e mail both embassys and like they told you request that they can take your case. Venezuela immediately forwarded our file to Manila electronically the day we sent the e mail. It slowed the process down about 2 months, but we have finally straightened things out. The embassy will get back to you about 3 days after you e mail them.

Yes it has to be done at least a week ahead of time just incase something comes back that they need to double check on. So, you have enough time before the interview to get it taken care of

Anyone dealing with Manila: Can he go earlier than the one week before the interview? He can just show up any day right? The woman at the USEM said he needs to go one week.. but is it a first come first serve basis at St. Lukes?

Im just nervous if something comes back they might not have enough time before the interview.. I might want him to go earlier than just the week. Thanks smile.gif
