United KingdomCr1 visa is there only 1 packet ?
I was doing k3 application, but because my I-130 has completed this is a reply I got from someone

If your I130 is at the embassy (meaning you have completed the NVC processing and paid the IV fee bill, etc.), you are headed for a CR1. Even if the I129F is approved and forwarded to the embassy, you really can't do a K3 anymore. The embassy would cancel it since they already have your I130. >The CR-1 is a better visa anyway (your spouse will get a green card shortly after arriving, SSN, etc., no need to adjust status which means paying $1010 and waiting for USCIS to process another petition).
Cheers

the other response was

For CR1, the packet three equivalent comes from NVC, so only the "packet 4" with interview appointment letter etc. will come from the Consulate. Of course, you've already submitted the I-864 but the Consular Officer may want to see one more up to date, depending on how long ago you sent yours to NVC. I'd have a fresh one with fresh pay stubs if I were you. If your 2006 tax return wasn't included already, bring that too.

any help?

United KingdomCr1 visa is there only 1 packet ?
Hi,

I'm in the same situation having gone throught NVC, just been told my documents are at the London Embassy and my I-129F is still being proccessed. So from that someone on the K3 visa forum has told me it's now a CR1 I'm going for. They also said it sould be just a packet 4 no packet 3.

Also the last letter from the NVC gave the web link init which told me to get my documents ready that included the police certificate.

Andreas

(I hope I'm right)

My worry is do I need my wife's and her mothers (needed as my wife's tax return for last year wwasn't enough) fincial details with me in London, they were all already sent to the NVC but do London want to see them too?

United KingdomCouple of questions!
Ok now things are finally getting closer to completion I've thought of a couple of questions.!!

Social security number, do I have to apply for this or does it come with the green card after I've entered the US, if not when can I apply?

Driving license, do I need my green card to to get my learners permit and/or my social security number (Can't believe I have to become a learner driver again and for 60days!!!) mad.gif

Green card, that takes about 4 weeks after entering the USA I think do I need to do anything or is it automatically sent?

Anyone taken a pet with them when they've gone to the US, do I need to let the airport know I'm bringing a pet.

These may have already been answered but I've spent the last hour going through forum posts and not found what I'm looking for yet!!

Thanks for any help

Andreas

United KingdomMedical before interview date was set
you should have a LND case number I did while it was proccessing at the NVC, I wish I'd taken the medical ealier by the time I got packet 4 I only had 2 weeks to till my interview and had to/wanted to fit medical in inbetween so there wasn't much time.

The only thing I never scanned was that medical questionaire as it was a simple tick list, I saw someone filling one out at the medical centre so I guess they do keep spares there, though not sure, you could ask, I found they are very helpful on the phone.

Hope this helps

United KingdomLondon Embassy wait times
It was about 5 weeks for me! I seem to have been a bit lucky though, nvc sent my forms on 29th August (CR1 visa) and had my interview today (3rd Oct) So I think it's all down to luck and when/who picks your form up!

Glad your medical went well, and that your both back home. We'll at least you got to see the the new zealand doctor we were talking about.

One more step to go now then, and if it was anthing like mine yesterday it was a breeze, just be prepared for waitng outside for about 30 mins just standing waiting to get into the embassy, when I got in there it took just over a hour.

Congrats, not long now!!!

United KingdomApproved!!!!!
I was a little nervous I bet everyone is, I didn't really sleep well the night before but when I got there and into the embassy it all went very smoothly only problem was I nearly got my left and right hand mixed up!! Why is it when they want to your finger prints keft hand first and then right, you mind seems to completely get it all in a jumble! Then when the immigration officer say hold your right hand up to swear that everything your saying is true, I again seemed to not be able to work out which is which! Oh well it made her (the officer) smile a bit! Honestly if you have all your documents from the checklist they send there is no need to worry.

United KingdomDo I need to so anything?
Hello,

Well to my surprise this morning I had a brown envelope for the embassy in London with details about getting a medical and the a form I think to send in showing I have all my documents for the interview. Now to most people they would be jumping with Joy at this (I already have been once).

The thing is I already have a cr1 visa and this packet (4) i think, is for a k3 visa.

Do I need to do anything, let the embassy know or will it just sit on the system so long before getting deleted, does this effect my cr1 visa at all?

United KingdomMedical Exam timing
I heard from the embassy about 2 weeks after my forms were sent from the NVC with details to book my medical, I phoned up and was able to get an appointment for the next day, but I believe you can have the medical even after the interview and your visa will be apprtoved but kept at the embassy pending your medical results when they recieve them it'll be sent to you.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresNot sure what's happening!
Ok, this site is amazing and helpful I've spent days reading through old messages. Still not sure I've exactly found what I'm looking for, or if I have maybe I haven't realised it.

Began my k3 visa process December 2006 and hoping to have it all finished soon, my paperwork has been forwarded now to the London Embassy about 10 days ago so hope to hear from them soon. However my I-129F form is still being processed in the USA. (my I-130 was approved a while ago) So I don't understand? Will I have to wait for that before I hear from London? Or is this the CR-1 application. (Confused kicking.gif )

Also as I've filed my Affidavit of Support forms to the USA do I still need to take these with me to my interview in London?

Thanks for any help!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPacket 3 or 4?
Hi,

We, my wife and I are in the same boat as you, our documents were sent from the nvc on the 29th August, we've not heard anything yet but I'm expecting packet 4 and no packet 3. Though somebody somewhere on the k3 forum told me it could take 4 weeks till I get the packet 4 in the post and then by looking at most people it'll take another month or so.

I keep waiting and checking what the postman brings everyday! I guess we'll know soon I hope!!!

p.s. I think Alan (Saywhat) will be first to hear his left 23rd August, mine was the 29th August and yours now the 5th September will be interesting to see who hears first and what we get in the post!
