Ugghh!! I'm not trying to whine...no cheese to go with it at the moment...lol, but in the last 2 weeks, my adjudicate date has gone from the first of Oct to..as of today...the 29th!! I've seen where others have posted it changing by a few days and mine has too, but that seems like a lot in a short time frame...so frustrating!!

Ok I couldn't hold it anymore and I called the CSC for the RFE trick. Piece of advice: don't say "my lawyer said that I got a RFE" if you DON'T have a lawyer huh.gif no0pb.gif huh.gif the lady on the phone called my bluff, cut me off and told straight out "you don't have a lawyer on that case, sir"... mmm well mmm so basically I took a begging tone and asked if I could get some info since I never received a NOA1 and all of that, it's been more than 4 months. So she checked and it appears that I have been adjudicated to an officer on Sept 23rd!!! So I guess I could receive some news, hopefully positive SOON... All hope is not lost. Some news is still news...
Just felt like sharing the experience.

Don't worry guys, we'll all get our approvals soon. I agree that after you hit the 100 day mark and you don't hear anything, it gets a bit depressing sad.gif , but there are still so many before us who haven't heard anything either. I think we'll get our NOA2's by the end of the month (positive thinking...lol yes.gif ) and the rest of the process will move along quickly and we'll all be with our loved one by the holidays!

Hi Aaron...I lived in Japan for 15 years and have been back here for 4 years w/out him (although he's visited several times.) We've been together for a long time (12 years this Nov) It's taken a while to reach this point because his family didn't approve (I'm not Japanese was the biggest road block!) Anyway, I agree, we should get together somethime after they get here..keep in touch! good.gif

That's how they are in Japan. Try calling back and instead of mentioning the word "visa", just tell them that you were asked to fax information and are checking to make sure it was received and tell them the person's name who sent the fax to you/requested the info. smile.gif

Unless they specifically told you to mail in the x-ray for some reason, you only need to send them the medical exam (report/findings) and the passport. My husband got his passport back a couple of days after his interview (a little different situation than yours as his was for a K-1), but once they have eveything, it usually only takes a few days.

You're lucky to live so close to the embassy. My husband and I used to live in Saitama, Iruma-shi. I have a few friends that live in Shibuya. At least we didn't have to travel from some where in the Tohoku region smile.gif

You said he received a letter last week, and then they updated the website or sent you an email. Some people get email updates while others do not. In my case, for example, I got my NOA2 in the mail, but never got an email and then they didn't update the website until about 2 weeks later. From what I see, it looks like they sent him an RFE for your birth certificate (koseki tohon/shohon) I'm sure the website update "touch" is for your birth certificate. As soon as you send it in, they will continue processing your case good.gif

In Saitama, (we were told it was the same for all prefectures in Japan, but maybe a CR-1 is different) we had to wait until he got the packet from the embassy, not NVC inorder to get the police certificate. She's right, they won't let her order it without the form or letter in the packet.

Yes, it's on hold and still in the loop. Once they receive the information they were requesting, they'll continue on with your file from where they left off.
