US Citizenship General Discussion	Tax returns	We are in the middle of my wife's citizenship journey right now, we are waiting for the interview date. We received the yellow letter telling us that her file had been moved to the local office and it told us to bring 3 years of tax returns or transcripts to her interview. I called the IRS and used the automated system and they arrived in about 6 days. You can also call them and talk to a live person and request that they be faxed to you, but you will have to be by the fax machine that they are sending them to. If you have the time get them now. US Citizenship General Discussion	Interview Letter Delay	My wife's yellow letter was dated 12/8/10 and yesterday we received an e-mail telling us that the file had been transfered to the local office for testing and interview. The status on line also changed yesterday. We still do not have a interview letter, but are hopeful. I also called, 2 weeks ago, and got the "in the que" #######. The proof that I have is a monthly statement from the state in which I pay. It has no signature. I would also think that taking along birth certificates showing that they are adult children would be an add on to the letter that you already have. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 October 2010 Filers	Just an update. We had our citizenship interview mid December, about two weeks before the three year mark for citizenship eligibility. Officer had told us they would submit the interview information right after that date(a little over a month ago). However, we saw no movement online for a month, so had scheduled an infopass appt for today. 'Coincidentally', the USCIS officer called us today before the infopass appt and told us that no-one had submitted the paperwork a month ago, but that he was doing it now. I think scheduling the infopass may have bumped the file... he said we would be getting the mail in about a month. Hoping the oath soon after. The call was escalated only to be told that it is "in the cue" and to call back in the middle of next month if I haven't heard anything. Well my calendar says Jan 31th, the middle of next month is in 2 weeks. . . US Citizenship General Discussion	Interview in Greer, SC	My wife had her interview in Greer, SC today, she passed. Per the lady that interviewed her she has to wait until they have a courtroom oath ceremony because she is changing her name. They have those twice a year, so it could be soon, or ??? Well on to the interview information: She was sworn in first thing. The woman that interviewed her did not ask to see anything, she went line by line through the petition, had her sign the front of her pictures (with her new name), and sign the paper for the name change and then on to the tests. The questions: 1. What did the Declaration of Independance do? 2. How many Justices are there on the Supreme Court? 3. Name one branch or part of the government? 4. If both the President and Vice President can no longer serve, who becomes President? 5. We elect a U.S. Senator for how many years? 6. What does the President's Cabinet do? The reading test: When is Columbus Day? The written test: Columbus Day is in October. She said that the woman was very nice and had a calming demeaner that put her at ease. While waiting I watched as people walked in a made Infopass appointments and were seen immediately. The office is small and was empty most of the time. The people in the "lobby", security and the lady working the window, were very nice and answered some of my questions while I was waiting. We applied 10/26 and I figured we should just jump into the November thread because it looked like we would certainly be the last ones to shut down the October filers thread. Now it looks like we might just close out November as well. Getting pretty discouraged with Atlanta. No updates, touches, yellow letters. NOTHING. Looks like Phoenix lockbox is kicking a$$. Thank goodness my brother-in-law planned his wedding for Nov 2011 or we might just miss it at this rate. Sorry, just really discouraged with the system at the moment. ~heavy sigh~ LS Well if you come back to October you can hang out with me, I am still there by myself and could use the company. . . Everybody else is gone so it isn't as depressing as reading how people are moving forward. Hopefully I will get a white interview letter with a date on it in two weeks time or less. Which would probably put my actual interview date somewhere in the 3rd or 4th week of March it seems. Now my new anxiety is not over the 100 Qs but of the IO poring over my file and asking me weird questions and trying to scare me...what if he/she is rude and mean, what if he/she intimidates me etc, What if I forget some important document, what if the IO does not approve me, what if I am asked for something I dont have...so many what ifs!!! After the Interview I know I will be fretting over when the oath will be... I am envious of your patience Nyhazmat!!! Good Luck to you...Im sure that phone call you made the other day will move things for you. I personally think a call triggers some kind of movement...I called a few days ago and today I got an update. Even with my ROC, I didnt hear from them for a while, I called and 10 days later I got an update.....so pls call them...even if they disappoint you. US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 November 2010 Filers	I'm in Atlanta, GA and I expect to be one of the LAST to get the interview notice. Nothing moves fast in Atlanta and if the USCIS says it is taking 5 months it WILL take at least 5 months. We are in no hurry and figure it will happen when it happens. My wife did her biometrics on 11/10 and nothing has changed online, no yellow letter, zilch, notta and nothing. When we filed for K-1, AOS and ROC I learned there is nothing to do but wait or make yourself CRAZY. Congrats to all who have passed the interview or have one scheduled. We are VERY excited to hear your good news. LOL LS Hmmm, aren't you also in the October list with me? What now that October is almost done, except for you and I, you are deserting??? Canada	Question? RFE- Certification of Good Conduct	Hi All, Question for you. I am a Canadian citizen, came to the US On a Fiancee Visa and started the adjustment of status process last August. Case was transferred to CSC in September 2006. Since then I went on 3 seperate occassions for biometrics. I received a letter last week for RFE stating: '' The applicants fingerprints have been twice rejected as''illegible''. Additional evidence is required in order to continue processing the adjustment of status application. The applicant has submitted a Canadian Police Certificate issued by the RCMP. Therefore, please provide a letter issued by the local law enforcement agency ( county sherriff's office or local police department) indicating the applicant has '' no criminial record''. The Record search should include all names the applicant has used in the past. A seperate letter is required for each law enforcement district in which applicant has resided in the past 5 years, Do you think I need to have a separate letter from the local authorities in Canada above and beyhod the RCMP letter OR do they just want a letter from the local police here in the US, since I have been here ( about a year) . I am so confused. HELP! This process is drving me crazy..... It would seem that they want both a letter from the locals in Canada, such as Niagara Regional Police, or whatever department has juristiction over where you have lived in Canada for the last 5 years.
