United KingdomCalling DoS for A date, how long did it take you?

DOS is closed today due to winter storm.  I have the number to the London Embassy ...question 1..Does the rate of $1.20 apply if I'm calling the 703-439-2367? question 2...The CEAC shows update today for us, I can assume it's they have Mark's medical.  If they have a interview date will they tell me?

He is and so much more..my soul mate!! We understand how difficult emotionally this process is and our hearts go out to everyone who is in the journey to be together. We've been fortunately enough to be able to afford seeing each other every 9 weeks..but the time was never enough and those days apart are long and painful.. Soon..that's the. Word we continue to say over n over again..and soon it will be. Try to keep busy and fill your days until the moment comes. It doesn't make the hurt any easier but helps pass the time. When this is all over..we live in Central PA so we hope we will stay in touch!

Hang in there! We are only a few days behind you in the process and you couldn't be more right about the stress at this point. That "so close but not to the end" feeling. I'm sure once we have a date for interview that the wait will be like another eternity..and then the anticipation of the visa in hand will be like every hour of every day is a lifetime x10..we so want to book a flight and have a date of arrival, but have decided the day the visa is in hand Mark will be on the next flight out of UK. At this point I don't care if I have to drive 10 hours to any airport just to get him here in my arms! It's definitely hard but encourage your girl to keep smiling and stay strong, soon this will be over and the remainder of the journey you will be side by side completing!

Me? No idea and wonder why it matters. You have an interview. Go to it and get approved.

Just getting emotional and excited...I reached someone at NVC who told me it could be as simple as they loaded this weeks interviews...and stated..virtually same thing.  The interview is schedule and I shouldn't worry about the update...but I could contact the embassy if I needed confirmation.

I think I'm good with that.  We've had very good experiences with everyone the entire process.  We are almost to the end of being seperated and the remainder of the journey will be tackled together.  I know whole heartedly we couldn't have gotten through all this with out the support of VJ and the members on here.

Thank you!  We will be checking in on Friday after the interview to share his experience at the Embassy!

United KingdomD.O.S. no longer answering specific case questions?

Then, I am so happy that we were ahead of that change!  They truly were a great help once the petition left USCIS! I will try NVC.

Would you know of any reason why 4 days prior to interview their would be a status update?

United KingdomD.O.S. no longer answering specific case questions?

I called D.O.S. today because I got a case update today on the system and was very uncertain to what it could be.  The interview is on Friday.  We have received everything we knew we needed.  When I called, the woman said they don't answer any questions about K1 visas and haven't for more than two weeks?  I must call NVC for information?  Will NVC be able to tell me why we received an update today?

United KingdomApproved! (And updated cellphone embassy rule?!)

Visa in hand today, Valentine's Day. It's perfect - I keep having to check my passport to make sure it's still there, almost as if I can't quite believe it still. Three years is an awful, awful long time to wait.

But we're one arrival at customs away from K-1 being complete. Hurrah!

Congrats! May you have a safe journey and wonderful life together!

United KingdomWhat airline do you guys fly with?

And where do you fly from? smile.png

I usually fly from Heathrow with Delta, I have quite a lot of miles, anyone know if I can use these to pay in part for my flight? That'd be pretty cool biggrin.png

But yes! Wondering who you guys all fly with, and where from. What airports/airlines work out the cheapest etc?

Im not sure where you are in UK but we have only flown one airline 4 times in 7 months and it has been the exact same flight everytime.  US Airways out of Manchester into Philadelphia, landing at 1:45 p.m. then short up on a puddle plane to Harrisburg landing at 4:40 p.m.  I just looked in case you were considering.  That economy flight is $856..book round trip vs one way.  One way is double the cost.

United KingdomTo all our VisaJourney friends.

It's been a long struggle through the visa process, 2 visits to London, a mountain of paperwork and a lot of money.

It took 4 months, start to finish, but I'm now home, with my beautiful (soon to be) wife.

It has been stressful, for both of us but it's all been worth it.

I had a few concerns about the POE, hearing stories on here of people having to wait 3,4,5 hours to get seen for a 5 minute interview and missing their connecting flights. Which would have brought up a number of obvious problems.

I'm happy to say that my POE process including the waiting time was about 5-10 minutes in total, I flew out Tuesday 25/02/14, it might have something to do with the fact they weren't busy, I've heard that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are quietest so for that, I am grateful.

The next step is getting through the AOS process.

So to round up... Thank you to all the information and help we have got from the people on this site.

Mark_Tammy2014FemaleUnited Kingdom2014-02-26 10:56:00
United KingdomHow long does the POE normally take?

I'm a little concerned about the POE interview, does anyone know how long it takes?

We got ours..we are definitely asking about Saturday delivery to get Sunday flight. My work week next week has little flexibility. It would be heartbreaking to pick him up Tuesday in time to get a few hours sleep then not see him again until the following Sunday

Haha did your American Fiance find out before you too! I was checking all morning then I left it for an hour and in that hour she messaged me saying it was issued smile.png

Yeah, my battery was dead on the laptop so by the time I had enough power to turn it on I had 4 missed calls on Skype from her. I'm so excited!

United KingdomCEAC Status "Case Created" Date changed?

Well I was sitting back down and then after she called you back I thought she would call me back next, but then she called back like 4 other people after she called you so I was getting kind of worried that she missed me out or something, but then some guy came up to me and said 'Are you I-901?' and I said yeah and he said she was going to call me up by name or something. Sat for a while longer and still not called back so in the end I just walked up to the window myself haha

She was really apologetic and said she was so sorry for the delay, she just wanted to try to get more peoples interviews done quick and asked if I minded if I could wait at the window while she restarted her computer, so I said sure and then once it was up and running she tried again and it worked finally and took my fingerprints tongue.png

I was so worried that like they were looking at my case file again and something was wrong and stuff but no, she just wanted to get all the other interviews done while I waited I guess ^^

She said 'any more questions?' and I asked again, 'do you think it will arrive before the 26th?' and she said 'sure! I dont see why not!' so like on Monday we bought my plane ticket thinking we would be fine after she told me twice I would get my passport back in time, but because I am a worrier I emailed the embassy asking if it would be done before then and then they told me 'approximately 10-15 days' which left me pretty worried sad.png

But I am hoping the lady is right and I get it back in time biggrin.png don't really want to have to pay the change fee haha!

I noticed that they wrote ASAP on my file so I'm certain it will come before this week is out. Glad there weren't any problems and it was just the computers. Tammy just called me and told me the status was changed to Issued, I cant wait to get home to Tammy and hopefully it'll be here in the next 2 days so because we have been through all this together, medical on the same day, Interview on the same day, you should get yours really soon and no reason to change the flights..... fingers crossed for you.

We have moved to ISSUED!!!!

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Waiting time for the NVC case number

What about when it says:

This petition has been approved, and forwarded to the listed consulate.  Please contact the consulate with any questions about visa issuance, ....

What I was able to research on previous forums is this truly can't just go to the consulate.  Correct..it can't if it doesn't have a case number.

It was processed at TSC approved on Nov. 14th.  Since the approval states it has been "forwarded" is that the same as the text or email that applicants are getting about "shipped" status?

NVC doesn't have it. (It is still pretty early from approval date, but I don't want to wait 8+ weeks then find out it was lost in the process months ago)

I am so confused with all the inconsistencies in verbiage.  Is there any way to truly know where our petition is?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)NOA2 APPROVED IN OCTOBER.. WAITING FOR NVC CASE NUMBER

hello guys, just giving you update that we received our NVC case number through email , i suggest that those who are still waiting of NVC case number should email
NVCInquiry@state.gov ... they will email you the complete information including the invoice ID number.  Thank God we received it just now smile.png  sending good vibes to everyone...

What did you include in your request?
Mark_Tammy2014FemaleUnited Kingdom2013-12-05 16:27:00
National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC STILL not received case - NOA2 received Nov 5

Do you mind me asking what number you called for the TSC?

I called the USCIS # 800-375-5283.  I didn't get the answer from the first person I spoke to.  I read the NOA2 where it stated that our petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate. Which REALLY confused me.  They put in a request for someone to call me back.  That person said that it was tracked back to TSC still waiting to be shipped.  I should call them back after Thanksgiving if I had not received information from NVC on case number.  As of today...no case number yet.

Mark_Tammy2014FemaleUnited Kingdom2013-12-02 14:11:00
National Visa Center (Dept of State)NVC STILL not received case - NOA2 received Nov 5

We were approved on Nov. 14.  I called NVC on 22nd and they said they had not received it but I could call USCIS and find out when it left their office.  The young lady I spoke with told me, "They ship the day they are approved.  We don't hold them in our office."  SO...on the 26th when it was still not at NVC I called back to USCIS and asked again for a shipping number.  The wonderful person who took the time to look into it for me found that it is still sitting in TSC?  So heartbreaking!! We are very fortunate that the NOA1-NOA2 came a lot faster than expected and appreciate all the efforts that are being made to improve the process.  AHHH...the emotional aspect..the waiting game.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMedical and VisaJourney.

Well,  today I had the medical I had been fretting about for weeks. I sat in the waiting room anticipating the forthcoming chest x ray,  blood tests, physical and dreading them.   Then  a ray of sunshine through the clouds, when I  over heard someone discussing the radiographer and saying how they had heard that he was such a jolly chap, according to comments on visajourney!!!

I smiled and  engaged in conversation immediately. It was so nice to have a like minded individual there and such a comfort to know that VisaJourney isn't just a forum, it's an actual community,   Well done VJ for just being here for us all!!!

I'm glad I was able to put your mind at ease, it was a pleasure talking to you in the waiting room and good luck with your progress.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsMedical and VisaJourney.

Mark had his medical on the 15th.  While waiting he stated that he also talked to another VJmemeber going for their K1.  We would not have been able to stay as calm through this process without the support of this site and the members that are on here.  We are very thankful for everyone!!  We know that this part of the process is almost over and everything after we will be side by side completing together.  We have traveled back and forth every nine weeks to see each other and this is the first time we haven't booked a flight so we don't have an exact countdown until we are in each others arms (I smile as I think about all the previous trips.  Every time was like the first time I got off the plane..butterflies & excitement).  Even with the medical being yesterday I must have checked the CEAC website 50 times and already a half dozen this morning.  We are so ready to see that next update so we can plan our final flight for the year.  It's been a very emotional journey!  Thank you all again for being here..even if you didn't know you were..we couldn't have got through it without you!
