US Citizenship General Discussion	N-400 question, please help	I need help answering this question: Are you a male who lived in the United States at anytime between your 18th and 26th birthdays in any status except as a lawful nonimmigrant? My husband became permanent resident on 11/30/2009 and at this time he was already 27 years old. He also had a fiance visa from April 2009 to October 2009 . He's been in US illegally since 2000. So do I answer yes or no. And if I answer yes how do I explain that he was not registered with Selective Service because honestly he didn't know. Which illegal would register anyway? Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I'm new here and have some questions re: I-751	Well about the utility bills, I only have for 2011. We bought a condominium in October 2010 (unfinished) and didn't move in until January 2011 (that's when we finally got occupancy permit to move in). Before that we lived with my parents as we wanted to save up for the house. So I am including utility bills showing both our names from this year. I'm in the stage that my husbands condition on residence needs to be removed. We will be able to send out package beginning of September. I have gathered the following evidence to send and would like an opinion if that is enoug: - copy of front and back of green card - copy of both driver license showing same address - copy of our deed of property (our home) - copy of federal and state taxes for 2009 and 2010 showing joint filing - copy of tax bill 2010 showing both of our names and address - copy of mortgage papers showing joint ownership - copy of car title showing joint ownership - copy of title of registration of our car showing both names - copy of checking account statement showing joint ownership ( 4 statements) - copy of money market account statement showing joint ownership (4 statements) - copy of health insurance card showing family coverage and both of our names - copy of both of our visa credit cards showing same card number - copy of both of our mastercard showing same card number - copy of our marriage license - copy of church marriage certificate and copy of our wedding invitation - copy of utility bills showing both names on it - Letter from my employer verifying that my husband is a primary beneficiary on my 401(K) plan and life insurance - copy of holiday envelopes addressed to both of us - copy of two itinaries showing both our names from vacations we took - Pictures from our civil marriage up to date Am I missing anything. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Quick Question about I-751	So my husband received a letter yesterday from USCIS as a reminder that we have to file a joint petition I-751 to remove the condition. The letter came addressed to our old address (thank God its my parents address). My question is do we have to file change of address with I-751 or do we file the I-751 with our current address and list our previous address (i think the form asks for previous address i think in part 3) Any thought??? I would send bank statements from the past two years. For example: sent them 2 statements from 2009 (one from June and one from December), 2 statements from 2010 and 2 statements from 2011, get the idea. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	Question about name on new GC	Since its a new version of the card I would call USCIS or your local office and ask if its ok to just have an initial or you would need to get a replacement. Also think about when you will want to apply for citizenship. You want to show that you have been living in US. Really you moving to Canada is a bad idea. What were your plans if you had to have an interview? What about if immigration would like to visit your home (they do that sometimes)? How were you going to prove your joint financials in US? Can someone update the list we field with CSC. Saturday I got another e-mail notification that they have mailed out my husbands green card. So now 6 more months and we can file for citizenship. YAY. Removing Conditions on Residency General Discussion	I-751 September 2011 Filers	I just checked the June and July filers, no cards for Vermonters either, then I checked MARCH 2011 filers, still some outstanding cards to be received, more than 50% not received for Vermont... we'll have to figure out how to get an extension to our extension! Anyone know? (probably the March filers know....) I think if they are not done but the time your extension expires you can file for citizenship. You should be eligible to file for citizenship.
