CaribbeanVisa Help!!!!!

Well they told me the same #######...to wait, that it takes up to 6 weeks...and on the 3rd week of me harassing i found out there was a problem. So call the Dept of State, Visa Specialists and ask them to triple check because thats what I did and they were the only people who told me anything. Call every day if you have to.

THANK YOU SO MUCH (L) (F)

Ohh....well in that case you definitely need to go talk to them again. In my opinion, that's a little too long but, it could be nothing at all.

CaribbeanVisa Help!!!!!

It can take up to 6 weeks but that's rare. 2 weeks waiting isn't out of the ordinary. They are most likely reviewing everything before they issue the visa. But I would go back to the Info windows at the embassy on Wednesday to check again. You can also call the Dept of State, Visa Specialists. They may be able to let you know if there really is any problems.

Yea i called the consul today and they said that it had not been updated he made me file some report and said i should recieve it soon but i dont know why that happen cus wen i went to the info last tus she said everything was fine he would recieve it yesterday or today. I dont know whats happening

CaribbeanVisa Help!!!!!

You should have opted for the option to PICKUP your fiance's visa straight from Domex's central office. It is 10x faster than waiting for it to be delivered to your fiance's home.

I did choose to pick up but the domex still has not recieved it

Have they by any chance told you that you guys have been placed in AP (Administrative Processing)?? This is the only reason I can think of for why its taking so long... Are you positive you guys were approved?

Caribbeanstill no luck

Your case seems to be in administrative processing. It's a sticky situation. You may have several months. Your fiance's name must have triggered something. Its an "issue" that's holding the issuance of the visa. It could be anything or nothing really at all. So people, unfortunately, have similar names to people who have committed fraud or broken a law, or something of that nature. They must make sure that your fiance is who he say's he is. I'm not saying this is the case with your situation but, whatever it is, it delaying your case. Sorry. I hope things work out and there is no real issue.

You do not have to wait for the visa to be deilvered. You can pick it up yourself from DOMEX. From what I know they have offices in Santo Domingo and Santiago. There might be others. Personally, I would rather have my wife pick it up herself then play "tag" with the delivery guy. You never know when they are coming and it is maddening just siting around waiting for them to come, and heartbreaking if you "miss" the delivery guy. I also think it is a little faster to get it yourself instead of waiting for DOMEX to schedule a delivery.

the this is that the consul has not sent it out

It's good to know that your case is not in Administrative Processing. Since you paid Domex, your visa should be delivered. The question is when. Where does your fiance live? Was the address on the forms correctly written?

yea they were but the thing is it hasnt been stamped thats what the prob it has not left the embassy for some odd reason :( he lives in santo domingo

CaribbeanHELP

You were approved 2 weeks ago and he has not received a visa; I believe I mentioned to you before that your case seems to be in Administrative Processing/Review. This will take awhile to resolve; up to 60 days or more sometimes. They are checking through your case again (despite your approval). I have few questions:

1) When you were approved did the CO tell you anything specific? Did you get a green approval slip?

2) Did you pay the Domex fee?

3) Did the CO tell you to bring any "extra evidence" ?

4) Is there anything your fiance is not telling you that would trigger an alert, and cause them "the hold your passport/visa"?

5) Did you provide them with enough financial support (since you are student)? They may assume you're not working.

6) You understand that Dom Rep. is a high fraud country and the Consulate will investigate both petitioner and especially beneficiary very closely. I read in your interview they asked you "private/sexual questions" and you 2 were questioned separately. This is similar to how the interrogate couples they suspect of fraud. Was your interview at Window 11?

I hope you don't mind my questioning, I'm just trying to get a good picture of what the problem may be that's holding up your case.

it was 4 weeks ago and i called and they said i was not under that. but they did not tell me what is going on. 1 she did give us a green slip and 2we had to go and pay at the domex. 3she did not and during the interview she told us she had everything nothing was missing 4 he has never been arrested he has never even recieved a tikket so i really do not think so 5 i did i gave them everything even my emloyers letter but wen we were interviewd she did not even look at it 6 nop my interview was like window 24 or 25 i do not remeber but we answerd the same questiones qith the same answer she told that we did great nothing was missing and everything was fine. I even asked her if she was missing any evidence or any financial support information plus i had an soupport and i asked if she need more information on her and she repeated no everything is fine nothing is missing i already approved your case. she was so nice i just dont understand why it been 4 weeks

Caribbeansad news

I know it can be stressful, but on the bright side you are approved. Just keep calling everyday. Don't call the embassy in the dominican republic becauase they charge you! Keep calling Department of State so that they may update you on the status. I hope you hear something soon!!

thank you <3 means alot (L)

Sorry to hear the news. Just follow the information posted on the Embassy's page and keep your fiance encouraged. Don't let this road block destroy your relationship. Keep the faith!

Yeah he can apply but this one would not be permanent. This card doesnt aloud him to work. And to get his work authorization he need to be married, and you have to fill his adjustment of status. Without his green card or EAD he cant work at least, legally

Hi.....

If your mother inlaw has a USC husband, they can looking into DCF (Direct Consulate Filing) out there in DR and it will be much quicker, as well... Just read up on here how DCF filing works, and there he will be able to petition the wife and the two kids... As far as the income goes yes your husband and yourself can cosponosor as long as one of yous meet the guidelines for the household size...

Good Luck....

do you know if the consul in dominican republic allows these visa?

As long as you have a co sponsor that makes enough money according to how many people in household including your fiance, you are good. Just make sure that both you and your sponsor fill out the affidavit forms and any documents needed with that. As well as, provide 3yrs of tax transcripts, which can be ordered online for free at: Order a Transcript

thank you so much i finally have an interview date April 3, 2012

In preparation for the interview I read all the DR interview reviews on this site! If you go to a DR member's timeline you can access the review (if they posted one). That will give you a great idea of what you may encounter that day. It is imperative that you attend the interview with the beneficiary (for the DR) :) Good luck!!!!

Also, you shouldn't plan a wedding until he has the visa in his hand. This process is unpredictable and the Embassy in Santo Domingo is one of the most difficult. Remember you have 6 months to use the visa once its approved and 3 additional months to marry once he arrives in America.

awwww their was a date on my NOA2 that said the expiration date was may 18 2012 so i assumed he would get his visa 90 days before that date :(
but thank you (L)

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK-1 Visa Dominican Republic

This part is not true. Both petitioner and beneficiary must be present at the interview and its extremely likelythey both will be interviewed. Getting a visa from the Dominican Rep is not a walk in the park. Just be prepared and have all of your business in order. The Consulate officer will question both parties. They can interview the 2 of you together, or separate. Its all up to them. If they suspect something "like fraud", they will definitely question you separately to see if they can get 2 different stories and once they do have 2 different versions of a story. They quote-on-quote caught you in a "lie" and can deny your K1 on the spot. Read the Interview Experiences here:

http://www.visajourn...&cty=&dfilter=5

And there are plenty more if you google it or check other sites. Not to scare you, but you need to have prepare yourselves and make sure neither of you have any skeletons in the closet.

Thank you (F) I do plan on going to dominican republic for the interview, and thank you for this info lots of help on the interview part (L) do you think that the fact that i curently dont have a job will affect him getting the visa??? when and if they ask what i do for a living? because i curently am a full time student and taking culinary arts classes that pay me. would that even count for a job?

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionK-1 Visa Dominican Republic

Congrats on your approval!!! Below are the steps you need to take. Be Proactive! Don’t wait for anything! Hopefully I have answered your question with the information below, if not let me know.

After your case gets to the NVC and forwarded to the Embassy, you must begin gathering evidence for your case and the "required documents" needed for the Interview.

The current wait time for interview to be scheduled could be 2-3 months.

The Embassy will then send the beneficiary (Dominican born) a list of instructions similar to this one:

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/k1-k2_instructions.html

Additionally, follow these steps here. It's a lot but, its worth it.

After you receive your NOA2 (approving your I-129f petition), you will receive a letter from the NVC telling you that they are processing your case and it will mailed to the Embassy in Santo Domingo. During this time your case is examined then repackaged and mailed to the Embassy.

To get valid information just wait 1-2 weeks and call (toll-free) the Visa Specialist (Department of State) in Washington D.C. Call 202-663-1225. Press Option 1 then Option 0 to speak to a visa specialist. (Do not waste your money calling the Embassy). They will tell you when your case was mailed and when your interview (cita) date is.

Also keep checking the Interview list to see when your interview is. Just type in the Case # that was printed on your NVC Notice (SDO2012...):

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.html

Your packet will be mailed by the mail service in Dominican Republic (Inposdom). Which may take forever (or it may never arrive at all). There website is below:

http://inposdom.gob.do/

Just keep calling and checking the interview list. Since some people never receive their packets, you need to be proactive! If you have not received anything around 2 weeks before your interview, call the Embassy and schedule a day to pick it up before your interview. The medical cannot be done if you do not receive your appointment letter that comes inside of Packet 4. Also, there is no way to track your case online at this point. So keep calling and checking the interview list is your best options. Santo Domingo Embassy contact info:

http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/iv-contact-e.html

Financial Docs:
Once your NOA2 arrives, you need to complete the affidavit and get a letter from your current employer (stating you have a job with them and you make $$$ a year), also you need a letter from your bank (stating how much money you deposited in the past year), and also 3 months of your most recent pay stubs and last 3 years of tax returns.

There are 2 affidavits (I-134 and I-864). The I-134 is very easy to complete and is usually needed for the K1 interview. The I-864 takes longer to complete and more evidence and its usually only needed for AOS but sometimes asked for during the K1 interview. For more information on the Affidavit of support, see the link below:

http://www.visajourney.com/content/support

To be safe just do them both and prepare. When your fiance(e) gets his/ her Interview Packet, it will tell you what forms you need to bring to the interview. For now I would just complete them both and wait until 2 weeks before the interview date to get a letters from your employer and bank.

Also, your Dominican born fiance/fiancee needs to begin completing the forms (you can practice at this point and finalize later; they are available online), get their birth certificate (long/extensa version), passport photos, etc.

My fiancee and I did all of these things while waiting. Try not to drive yourself crazy. Just use this to prepare. Also gather all the evidence you will need for your interview (phone records, email, pics, travel documents, etc). The last thing my fiancee and I did was update our forms. She got her police report (30 days before her interview date), reprinted visa forms, and I updated my income/employment documents.

I had everything done 2 months before the interview but had to get new letters (dates closer to the interview). Some interviews are scheduled much faster than others so you may have less time.

:wow: Thank you so much for this but if i have an affidavit of support with someone else who will be in charge of the money then should we both fill out the 2 papers or should she fill them out alone?

Thank you so much!
