US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMedical exam in manila
Hi,

No she wont need her passport anymore after the hospital takes it.

No need for Birth Certificate. Just advise her to remember the first day of her period coz they will ask her over and over and that to bring reading materials so she wont be bored as the waiting is really really really long.

Good luck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionQuestion about I-134
Hi,

My fiance just scanned the signed I-134 form along with his W2, Certificate of Employment (with company letterhead), ITR sent it to my email and I just printed them here. I didn't have any problems with the Consul. My interview went smoothly.

Goodluck!

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConfusion on St Luke's and $213.35 US
Don't worry too much about this.

Bring around Php 10,500 at St. Luke's on the day of the medical exam this should be enough to cover the fee. They are also posting the exact amount of the $213.35 dollar convertion of that day in pesos at the cashier.

Good luck!

Everybody - those who are and those who have sent out the packet -

Letter from friends

vs

Affidavit from friends

Who is doing/did which one....

And those who did get approved for ROC - what did they submit - letter or affidavit...

Thanks,

I just sent envelopes with postmark of letters/cards from friends and family.

I DID'NT sent any Affidavit from friends. I thought the evidence I sent were strong enough...got approved anyway.

PhilippinesCFO question
Hi Raeka,

From taytay you can just take a jeep to cubao and if you see PSBA St. Mary's is just near that. No need to take a taxi.

Hi Krystine,

Im not sure where you are from but if you are coming from manila, you just take LRT 2 station (easiest way) and stop at Katipunan station, just walk a little and you will see PSBA and St. Mary's is near that. No need to take a jeep or taxi.

PhilippinesWant to bring Sister to US
Hi Ardith,

I was able to visit my bf and spent Christmas and New Year there thru B1/B2 visa.

Regarding getting the visa, it really depends.

It depends on how complete your sister's papers are (please read demonstrating ties http://manila.usemba.../wwwhnv03.html) and how confident she is.

Depends on the consul too.

If she is confident during the interview she can just breeze through it. It was only a 3 minute interview but I knew that in the first 10 secs of it, I already passed.

Sample questions are: What is the purpose of your trip? How can I be sure that you will be coming back to the Philippines?

Goodluck!

PhilippinesTourist Visa - Ties - Show Money
Hi!

It depends on the mood of the consul.

I was able to visit my bf last Dec using B1/B2 visa.

I was employed at that time in a multi national company for just 3 years. I did have a bank account and a property but the consul didnt even asked for any bank statement nor evidence of my property.

It depends on how good your friend is in communicating her PURPOSE on said visit.

Sample questions:

1. What is the purpose of your visit?
2. How long will you stay ?
3. Who will pay for your visit?
4. How can I be sure that you will come back to the Philippines?

Goodluck!

Philippinestranslator or interpreter
Hi!

Our fellow VJers are right, USE will provide the interpreter.

While waiting for my turn last Nov for my B2 visa interview, I overheard a lady requesting for an interpreter as she is not confident in her English, her friendly CO said that,
"Ma'am, we will provide you an interpreter but why dont you try to answer it on your own since the questiosn are easy smile.gif"

I suppose if they are providing an interpreter at the NonImmigrant section, they are providing that in the Immigrant section as well smile.gif

Good luck!

Hi!

Yes you can. I have attended the seminar last May 27 even if I havent had my interview yet. I will just need to come back for the sticker once I have my visa.

I'm not sure where you are from but the one I have attended is in St. Mary's in Cubao, you can just walk in no need to make an appointment. You can take the LRT 2 and stop at the Katipunan station.

Hi,

Person at the releasing counter is right he cant inform you of the medical results since it is sealed and will be forwarded to the US embassy but if there was a problem or you didnt passed, medical personnel at SLEC will tell you out right if you need further tests.

So I guess it means you passed.. congrats and good luck on your interview.

Hi, I just finished my medical exam yesterday (May 22nd). How do you guys know that you "passed"? If you go through immunization and the SLEMC personnel told you that your passport and medical results will be forwarded to the US embassy, does that mean you are good to go? I am concerned because I specifically asked the person at the releasing counter and he said they can't inform me that what the medical results are...

Philippinestourist visa for my parents
Sa Windsor ako Sis, malapit sa Fort Collins (kina RonMay). San kayo banda?

Goodluck!

Philippinestourist visa for my parents
I agree with Mrsartis, Sis. You can always try as it is a case to case basis and it depends upon the CO who will interview your mother.

Based from my experience last Nov., I have seen people accompany their loved ones in the interview.

If you think that your parents can prove that they have compelling ties to come back to the Philippines, then go for it. Just be sure that they bring all the papers (of their assets etc) with them so they are confident in the interview.

In my case, the CO DID’NT ask for any bank statements. I was even going to show him the title of my property but he said, “No need, your visa is approved.”

Also in another case, if you will research in this forum sometime Nov or January, there was a fellow VJer who posted that her mom got an approved tourist visa even though her mom doesn’t have a job, a bank account etc. and her mom was able to attend her wedding in the States. So it is really a case to case basis.

Just prepare for a concrete answer to this: What is the purpose of your visit?

Back then, I haven’t gone anywhere abroad kaya di ko sinabing mag totour ako but I still got a positive outcome . yes.gif

Also prepare for this: How can I be assured that you will be coming back to the Phils? (this wasn’t ask to me but I heard it was asked to another interviewee…hehehe tsismosa)

Hope this help, sis! Goodluck!
