Australia and New ZealandAdvice Needed
My fiance is in South Australia. It took 5 weeks to get his police certificate back - and it does go straight to the person who applied for it- not the consulate.

As others have said, the paperwork cautions to not book flights that you can't change... and if you advise them this is the case, they will probably refer back to that...so to
be safe, I would simply wait til you have the packet sent to them (track it to see when it arrives) then email to nicely ask for the first urgent available interview time/date.

Good luck

Australia and New ZealandMy worst fear just came true
How did they know he committed this crime when he was 16 if its not on his record? Did they give him an out right denial?

National Visa Center (Dept of State)Whats is going on and will my case expire?!
Apparently the Dr. that was in South Australia didn't require a case number either, as my darling fiance called at the end of March to book for this summer
and was told to come in the next day since Dr. Miller was retiring and was assured the exam would still be good for an interview in September. I'm praying
this doesn't burn our bums as I'm still waiting on NO2 (submitted to Texas then apparently transferred to Vermont...oh no!!) I've emailed the consulate
just to double check.. But to answer the prior ? on case number... not all the panel doctors require them as the original poster said. Good luck to all! Praying
for a speedy (or speedier than it has been) approval!

US Citizenship General DiscussionTravel for Dual Australian & US Citizen
I am a dual US/Canadian Citizen by birth and parent circumstance (the US does recognize this). The last time I flew to Canada, the immigration officer there (US officer), told me to get my Canadian passport and when traveling into Canada, use that, and when traveling back to the US, use the US one. Hope that helps (or confirms what others have said)

CanadaImporting Vehicle
because Canada and the US share a border and because Canada has tougher rules for their cars, importing your car to the US is not a problem. Just drive it across! (I am a dual Canadian US citizen by birth... My family is on both sides of boarder and we've passed cars from family member to family member for years on both sides without a problem)

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 November 2013 Filers

Vicky P -  Did you call the customer service line?  I did, spoke with someone, they saw we were past the 6 months, got escalated to level 2 (this was May 27th) and today the card is supposed to be delivered (down to wire - mail usually here at 3p and we have to leave for airport at 315p at the latest...aigh!) So, if you haven't called, I encourage you to do so!

I opened an enquiry since we're beyond the 6 mo mark.  (Had to speak to level 2)  The 'officer' said that she didn't see any letters for more RFE or interview in the notes.  Trying to not worry (ha! that's my middle name it seems..LOL).  She said 'you'll get a letter by 11 June with a response with your new timeline'... really???? WOW is all I can say.

  :wow:  Still initial review too...seeing all the others with cards around our date of submission is making me wanna :crying:.  We're less than 2 weeks from holiday home to see my darling hubby's family and 6 months in 2 days...  Wonder if those of us VSC'er's were in a pile that got sent to the shredder instead of the person working the files.  (okay, bit o'drama.. but the thought has crinkled the brow a few times.)  Happy Memorial Day to everyone. Lest we never forget.

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionI-751 November 2013 Filers

Hello all -

Please forgive me but I am not sure how to add our info to the list...

We sent our I 751 in - 11/20/2013 (VSC)

Date of NOA: 11/25/2013

Biometrics: 12/26/2013

RFE -  wow I wish I could find it because I'm in a panic - I think it was in March around the 17th.  Sent the entire 2 years of bank statements in as proof (it was the only thing they asked for - I called and they were very kind to assure me --esp since I had sent in photos, utilities, insurance policies, etc.  Oh, I did send the car loan in our names we bought Jan 2014)  I also sent a postcard with stamp for verification they got the RFE but I don't think I ever got it back.  I wasn't worried since when I sent the original packet in with postcard, we got the Bio appointment letter before the postcard came back!

I'm glad I read through this forum, as I didn't have any idea we could get email or text updates (that's changed since we got married and got the green card 2 yrs back!)...so I've signed up for that and spent the past 3 hours going through my office and files to find the RFE copies -  I have been so slack on this go round (kicking self!) as I still have the files with every piece of paper and note and copies from the K1 app and everything since.

Anyone else have problems with your RFE delaying everything with VSC?   We're taking my son to meet the family in Australia next month and I had hoped for the 10 yr GC for my darling hubby before then (luckily I have the NOA/extension letter tucked with the passports!)

:) :clock:

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsLeft over March Filers
Sean...

I know all too well how frustrating it is to search the timelines, compare who is getting NOA2 and who is not. I was there with you up until July 1st... I even called USCIC to see if I could get a Level 2 rep....
What I have learned is that the process can not be compared to others. Frustrating, I know, but this is the government we're working with.... have you seen how things are in D.C. right now?!?! LOL..

Hang in there.. it WILL come. And then get ready to wait again for the documents to go from Vermont (or California) to the NVC. I'm still waiting for the recording to tell me its there (and frustrated because others have gotten theirs)....

In the mean time, start planning your future with your wonderful partner!

Best wishes,
Christy and Rod

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedurescontacts for USCIS
I hope this helps those who need it. I found it on the DHS Ombudsman site.

Inquiries for Service Center Matters

If USCIS has not responded to your initial service request within 30 days, please email the service center that has jurisdiction over your case. Your follow-up should be addressed only to the service center which issued your receipt and is identified on the Form I-797 (Notice of Action).
•California Service Center: csc-ncsc-followup@dhs.gov
•Nebraska Service Center: ncscfollowup.nsc@dhs.gov
•Texas Service Center: tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov
•Vermont Service Center: vsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov

If you do not receive a response within 21 days of contacting the service center, you may email the USCIS Headquarters Office of Service Center Operations at: SCOPSSCATA@dhs.gov and should receive a response in 10 days.

How Can the Ombudsman Help?

If you have tried these regular USCIS avenues and have not received the information you seek, please submit DHS Form 7001 to the Ombudsman. We will look into your case and review how we may be of assistance.

If you have a comment about the NCSC or the above USCIS customer service process, please send the Ombudsman an email at cisombudsman@dhs.gov. Please note that the Ombudsman can request that USCIS review an NCSC call to further understand your inquiry, if you called the NCSC within the last 90 days. It is also helpful to have the date and time of the call, the phone number you used to make the call, as well as the ID number of the customer service representative or the officer’s name with whom you spoke.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAFTER NOA2

Sean is the beneficiary he is the Aussie and as I said from NVC to Sydney can take 2 weeks at least.

OOpS! Sorry, Sean! Reverse everything I said and apply it to you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAFTER NOA2
Sean - first bit of advice-- if your fiancee hasn't already done so, apply for the National Police check with fingerprints. When my fiance applied they told him it could be up to 5 weeks to get it back. Also - has she done the medical exam with the approved panel doctors? That will need to be done as well.

So... here is where its going to go slow and fast all at once depending on how it plays out for you. My NOA2 was approved on 7/5/11....but it wasn't until I recieved the letter from the Department of State (NVC) on 23 July that I knew the NVC had it. The letter was dated 8 July 11 and postmarked on the envelope 20 Jul 11. And the NVC recording still said no case history. I had to speak to an operator to find out my case was forwarded to the Consulate in Sydney ELECTRONICALLY on 18 July 11. Yet, when I emailed on 25 July 11, the reply from Sydney was that they hadn't recieved it. (this email was before I called and spoke to NVC). I emailed again to Sydney and this evening 26 July 11 (27 July 11 in Syd) got the P3 email.

Once this P3 (packet 3) arrives, if your fiance has everything on the check list, she can sign the "read for interview" form, send her original or certified birth certificate AND a copy, a copy of the photo and biographical page of her passport, proof of your relationship, Police Certificate and Fingerprint repor (original and copy), medical report (original only), any prior marriage certificate and copies, any prior divorce orders and copies, any military records, I-134 (affidavit of support from you- original only and all supporting documentation), and 2 passport photos of herself along with Complete and return immediately to this office the enclosed form DS-230I, Immigrant Visa Application Part I, Biographic Data. We cannot process your case until this form is received.
2. Fill out two copies and sign forms DS-156, Nonimmigrant Visa Application. Please refer to the attachment regarding the Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF). If your children will apply with you, two copies of forms DS-156 for each child must be completed in full, including photograph.
Form DS-156(K), Nonimmigrant Fiancé(e) Visa Application: All questions must be answered. Please do not sign this form. It is to be signed in front of the consular officer on the day of your interview.

Hope that helps! Just start getting ready... it should happen (I'm crossing my own fingers on this) fast!
