that is way strange thing to be doing letting you work before the fingerprints done on you...goes to show you the name check excuse might be a big fib and its the backlog of files that is the real reason why some have to wait ages to be approved...

arhh well good on you for pushing their buttons mate...ya gotta do what ya gotta do huh..happy job hunting...

That's funny that you meantion rissoles-on my last night visiting my fiance in Australia, we had a goodbye BBQ and his family made steak and rissoles, and I fell in love with them! I asked his mum how to make them, and she said she just adds bread crumbs and diced onions. I was going to try it here and just buy a container of those Progresso dried bread crumbs, and mine would have chopped garlic in them star_smile.gif

Congratulations on the job Kaffy!

hi heather
congrats on the journey so far going great for you...your nearly there now..
if someone can help me out on this one that has recently done the K1 interview..wasn't the affidavit of support the
I-184 .. im sure we filled that one out..just want to make sure ...

i went on the embassey website heather to check about the w2's and found this about affidavits...

A signed affidavit of support, form I-864, I-864A (if needed), or I-864EZ for each applicant.
A letter from his/her U.S. employer on company stationary verifying date of hire, position, wages or salary, numbers of hours worked per week and whether the job is full-time, permanent, part-time, or seasonal.
Most recent U.S. Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2 forms.

the above is why i question the I-864 form
good luck this part of the journey is the easy part for you..
take care
kath

Hi Kath! Thanks for always helping out your "mates" good.gif

I saw the I-864 as well while looking at all of the forms and affadavit of support, but I believe those are for another Visa (I think the K-3), because it states, "Must be completed by the person who filed the I-130 petition", and the one we did for the K-1 is the I-129F. I think I will at least take the info to heart and send him everything that they need for the I-864. I think I am going to forfeit the bank letter and just send the employer letter, pay stubs for three months, the last two tax years of forms and W-2. I am so anxious about...what if I didn't send enough and bam, DENIED! I know we all go through the worst case scenarios in our heads, I just want to be over-prepared ha ha.

Thanks for having a double look for me Kath!

Hi everyone!

As you know from my handful of e-mails, this week has been an active one: Ali and Joe, they processed our case at the NVC in two days, and as we speak it is on our way to the Sydney Embassy. Woo hoo! good.gif

I would just like someone to clear this up for me once and for all, if possible: For the I-134 Affadavit, I plan on sending the following:
A) Letter signed by my employer stating my salary/status
cool.gif 2006 and 2007 Tax Returns (where both show that I am well above the poverty line)
C) Paycheck Earning Statements from my work from June-August 2008

I am sending my fiance all of the things needed for Packet 3 on Monday, and I am just stuck on this affadavit. Is this enough? I don't have an ETA on the bank letter I requested (according to the bank officer, they have never even heard of doing a letter like the one I need!), and I am wondering if I should gather alllll of my W-2's for the past two years. Will A, B, and C be enough?

Again, thanks to all my mates in this thread for any help they can give!!

Thanks so much for that info Ali and Joe!

I went to the website as well, and have been getting the forms at least situated so I can send them all over to my fiance.

It looks like your case went quickly! 10 days from the NOA2 being recieved to getting the packet? Wow, I can only hope mine comes so fast!

Keep me updated on your progress, will you? Since we are so close in approval and going to the same embassy, I would like to see how your experience is going good.gif

Hi all!

So my fiance recieved his NOA2-woo hoo! Now we are just pre-compiling the Packet 3 as much as we can.

I was able to visit his hometown of Charters Towers QLD (about one hour inland of Townsville-tiny mining town!) this past month, and its so beautiful. I know he always told me it was tropical, but he meant TROPICAL!!! lol.

Quick question: according to the Affadavit of Support tips, it says, "Some foreign U.S. consulates require a 2nd affidavit of support which is called "sponsor's financial responsibility
under the social security act." It is a simple form and easily filled out and signed. The Hong Kong consulate does
require this form, as does the Sydney (Australia) consulate."

Does anyone know exactly the name for this form on the Sydney Consulate Website? I have seen the I-864, but that one looks like it's in regards to an I-130 petition. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

hey everyone! haven't posted in a while so i don't know if this has been discussed, so sorry if this is repetitive. my aussie and i are hoping to get our NOA2 soon and we'd like to get a jump on whatever we can start doing now, to reduce the wait time from this point forth. I have a rough idea of what's in packet 3, but i don't know if it's different for each country, so if anyone can tell me exactly what the embassy in sydney asks for and what we can start gathering now, that would be great. like, does he have to wait to get the police certificate, or can he get it now, or is it just a form he has to get filled out? and the AOS from me (from my employer, i'm assuming), can i get that now, or do i need to wait until he gets his instructions so that it's dated after our NOA2?

thanks guys!

Possum, you asked my question good.gif Thanks!

Hope everyone is doing well! Two weeks until I get to go to the wonderful land of Oz to visit my fiance. It has been four months since we last saw eachother, and the days are inching by....we will be staying in Townsville/Magnetic Island before heading off to "The Bush" ha ha!

One quick question for the Sydney K1 people who have already been approved: From the time you were approved for the NOA2, how long from that day did it take for the interview/visa? I know that everyone's will be different due to the Packet 3 times being sent out. Jimmy just recieved his Police Cert from the QLD police, and they did say it was valid for one year. I am also gathering the new documents needed for the Packet, getting a letter from my boss saying that I work there, pictures, etc...I am still also a little confused about the medical, if you can get it before you have your appointment scheduled or not. The police dept. said that the certificate is going to be mailed directly to Jimmy, is that correct, or should it have been forwarded directly to the Consulate?

Possum, your NOA2 is right around the corner, seeing all these March approvals! Grats in advance! (Hopefully one more month for this April filer! What a great b-day present if so!)

Hi all! biggrin.gif

It's been a while since I have posted-just waiting patiently for the NOA2 and planning something resembling a wedding ha ha!

I've been getting antsy lately, as I know most of us are. My fiance is going to have to fly 3 hours to Brisbane to get his medical, and then fly to Sydney for his interview on what I'm assuming is different days. If we were to get the vaccination worksheet from the certified doctor, could we schedule the medical NOW?

Also in regards to the police Certificate and the affadavit of support-if we were to get these now, does anyone know how long they are valid for? That way we can get them out of the way and have Packet 3 ready to send when it gets sent to us!

On a side note...51 days until I go to Australia and visit my fiance! We will be staying a few days in Townsville/Magnetic Island...anyone familiar with the area have any good places to stay/eat/tour? Much appreciated star_smile.gif

Hi all smile.gif

Thanks to Kath for finding us in the K-1 forum and letting us know about the Australia thread!!! good.gif

We just filed our I-129F last week, so I know we have a long and tedious process ahead of us. My fiancé lives about an hour from Townsville and it looks like, according to the Aus Immigration website, you can only go to one or two *authorized* places for a medical, and the closest one to him is in Cairns...I'm reading the forum and seeing that some of you went to your regular doctor and got the medical, is that correct? What do you do in that process?

Also, when he receives his packet before his consulate interview, will there be a "checklist" of sorts included? I want to make sure we include everything that is needed. For example, since we have the process started, is he able to get a police report now if he wanted to? Am I able to send him the Affadavit of Support as well, or does it need to be closer to the interview time?

Ahhh, so many questions! I'm really glad this forum is here, and everyone is so helpful. Thanks again blush.gif

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionAffadavit of Support Evidence
Hi all!

I am putting together my Packet 3, or I should say *trying* to put it together, arrgh. I am making copy after copy and my toner dies on me. And it's 1am, so I can't buy more until tomorrow! Ack!

I am stuck on the Affadvit......

According to the Sydney Embassy's guidelines, I make more than enough to qualify to sponsor my fiance solo.

Looking at the I-134, it shows that you need "any or all of the following forms"
-A letter form your employer stating your business, etc.
-A letter from your bank stating your assets, etc.
-A copy of your last income tax (If self-employed)

Looking at the guides6ly.gif lol, it says you will likely need two to three of your most recent pay stubs and a signed letter from your employer, banking information, etc.

I am having an issue with my paystubs for two reasons: One, we got taken over by a new company in June, so it states I have only made $3,000 so far this year; and the two weeks before my approval I was on vacation in Australia, so my two most recent paychecks are significantly lower then what they would normally be since I took no vacation pay.

Sorry for the very detailed explanation, but I want to be clear on why I am posting *yet another* affadavit question!

Okay, my three questions!
*Am I able to send:
A)Employer letter
B)2007 tax return
C)2007 W-2's
and be okay? The info on all three items shows I make almost 5X what is the minimum guideline...what did you send for approvals?

*Does JUST the I-134 need to be notarized, or all supporting evidence as well?

*For anyone who went through the Sydney or Hong Kong Embassy, does anyone know what exactly the "sponsor's financial responsibility under the social security act." form is? I went to the Sydney embassy website, and the only ones I could find were for the I-130 petition...

Again, thanks for any help you can provide good.gif

Hi all star_smile.gif

So I am sending all of the papers out at the end of the week and sending them to the CSC at the end of the week when I get my fiancé's papers in the mail. From what I have been reading, getting approved will take a good 6-8 months.

I want to know what you couples have done that have already been through the process to plan for a wedding!

I mean, it's our wedding! I know in 90 days of planning I can't get all of the bells and whistles that a big blowout would entail, but how did you guys who planned a wedding do things? How is anyone supposed to send out invites when you don't have a clear date set? And event planning? Arrgh....

Thanks in advance guys,

Thanks Kath! So happy there is an Australia forum!

James lives in Queensland, in a tiny town an hour or so away from Townsville. Our major plan is when we get older to move back to Australia (I love Melbourne! Stayed in St. Kilda when I was there in '05).

Yeah, I have been looking into the wedding, but yeah, no "in stone" plans-not until at leat we have an interview date. From what it looks like, our case is pretty straight-forward (no kids, marriages, police reports, etc.), so at least by then we will be a little closer to knowing when he can head out here.

Again, thanks to everyone for the advice and support-I'm still wrapping my head around all of the steps we have to take!

Hi all!

So I sent out the I-129F today...got my fiancé signed papers in the mail, and checked for errors about twelve different times, and neatly sent it in the mail-I almost wanted to bake the adjucator cookies or give him chocolates to help the cause ha ha ha!

I entered in the date into my timeline, and at the bottom, it says, "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as September 29, 2008*".

Is the timeline talking about from start to finish? (FYI, I'm at the what-seems-to-be-dreaded CSC) Or would that be the time at about when it would be forwarded to the consulate for the interview?

I have this dream to be married December 7, 2008, but from what I have read in the forums, that's a fat chance. If anyone could give me some info on "adjucation", it would be much appreciated smile.gif

Thanks!

Is the "adjucation" date the expected time of the NOA2 to have been completed and the interview looming on the horizon?Or are we talking start to finish, NOA2/embassy/interview?

I know not to put *too* much thought into the expected date, but I just want to know where the "adjucation" date stands...

Forgot to say above:

Tax transcripts: Use this form to order 3 years free http://www.irs.gov/p...-pdf/f4506t.pdf
On item 6, you want to check the box by line a.

The second page gives instructions and also where to send the request depending on your state. I also gives fax numbers for those locations. I faxed my form and had transcripts in the mail within the week. Some people order over the phone. Because transcripts are official from the IRS and verify your W2 info, that covers it all. You can also do a photocopy of your whole return, but you have to include every page and any schedules, and anything sent in with it like W2s or 1099s-- The little paper(s) you have to staple to the front that your employer mails you telling how much you earned for the whole year.

And here's another good piece of info about Equador: http://guayaquil.usc...ems_english.pdf

Thanks Nich-Nick for all of your info good.gif

My fiance and I are at the 4 month mark, and about two weeks ago he rec'd his Police Cert, which we were told is valid for 6 months, so as long as we get approved before February (!!!) we should be okay. I was wondering in regards to the IRS tax transcript info for the affadavit of support. I'm sorry if this is redundant, but I don't see where the tax papers are needed if I am not "self-employed"...I got a signed letter on company letterhead in regards to my job, and I plan on sending about four recent pay stubs. Will that be enough for the affadavit? Also, does anyone know the process on getting a statement from the bank in regards to getting your deposit information for the past year? I am one of those online only bankers that never step foot in a bank lol!

AND HE DID!! HE GOT APPROVED!!!!!

He called me 40 minutes after his interview (that's all it took he said!) in tears, and they told him "congratulations"! I am still in shock. I can't believe today I get to FINALLY book wedding plans, make wedding invitations, sign papers on a house, and KNOW THAT HE WILL BE HERE FOR GOOD IN THREE WEEKS!!!!

im sooooooo stoked!!!! i've been so down and worried about why our applicaiton has taken so long to move , i thought we were going to be left behind!!! thanks to all of you who have been sending our words of encouragement, it really helps.

for all of you who got touched before getting the NOA2 how many days between the touch and the NOA2? also i did not get an email even though i signed up for it, i found out by logging on to the USCIS. what i really want to know is how long til they notify you of your interview date?

YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY kicking.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif star_smile.gif
thank you SOOOOOO much for all your encouragement

Grats RobertJay! Isn't it crazy it's all happening now? I remember when this thread started and all of us were frustrated/patient/impatient/anxious! Now we get to start on our second journey!

Chamy-so close now! Most people I have seen got touched one or two days before the final approval...I hope for you it is just around the corner!!! good.gif The interview date...there's not an exact date that can be given. After the NOA2 the USCIS sends it to NVC, NVC processes, sends it to your embassy, and the embassy may or may not send you a packet-with Australia we got the Packet in the mail with information that Sydney needed, sent it back, THEN got the interview. The interview dates also vary between countries.

I was obsessed with http://www.visajourn...ge=k1historical because it shows general trends on how fast the NVC is taking, and it also gives detailed info about your embassy's interview timeframe.
Hope this helps!

Hi all!!
So while I was at work today I got a call saying my wedding gown and veil that I ordered was in. So excited to try it on!

When I got home today, I checked my e-mail and...we got the interview date!!!! dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif dancin5hr.gif

It's October 7-two weeks from today. I am freaking out and so excited!

I know they say not to buy tickets, make plans, etc., but really? Should we get a plane ticket soon? Can I start planning a wedding now at least lol??

I almost feel like if I start doing these things I may jinx it or something, but again, we don't have crazy circumstances so I think I am probably just being paranoid...?

How is everyone doing? Any progress??

So I received Pck 3 in hand today, only after I noticed a week earlier that i wrote down the wrong postal code for myself... DUH!!! But Im so excited to see everyone moving forward towards that interview date, keep us all posted. I should receive an interview date here very shortly. fingers crossed..

Good luck and congrats to those that have taken another step forward in the last little while!!

StaceyG....

May I ask what's inside a Packet 3? I'm also about to receive mine maybe next week. I was just thinking that while waiting that maybe I could just start ahead of time so I won't be rushing by then.

It would be nice that way... helpsmilie.gif smile.gif

Angel,
All Embassies are different-if you go to "Embassy Info" in the blue link, look up Philippines, and it gives you some basic embassy info. Here is the link to that page:
http://www.visajourn...e...&cty=Manila
On that page, it also gives you a link to the embassy website...so maybe there they will be more detailed on what they may need.

Hope that helps a bit! good.gif

Aww thanks guys! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I was woken up by my fiance at Midnight (my time) singing "Happy Birthday" to me...but even better was he received the Packet 3 in the mail today! It's the best birthday news I can think of!!! It's all ready to go, I just need him to get off his lazy bum and make sure everything on his end is signed, and hopefully he will be able to mail it out tomorrow. Gosh, if we get an interview date, we can actually start planning our lives (at least the start of it lol!)

Star_Dragon: Congrats! So happy for your approval! Dig in to some Ice cream to celebrate! good.gif

Freddy007: Congrats as well! Glad to know they sent you *something* since some people didn't even get an e-mail!

Glo: We all knew you'd be approved blush.gif , I'm so happy for you! When you feel rested I would love to hear more details. Did your fiance get in okay? What are your plans now-when do you actually plan on moving over? I think you may be our first April Visa-in-hand approval?

The more I think about how we are almost there, the more excited and nervous I become. I really don't feel we have anything to worry about, the paperwork and evidence is ready, and we have no outstanding circumstances...but I wouldn't know what to do with myself if he was denied.

My birthday is tomorrow! It sucks!!!! so much I will be celebrating it without my love, but I know that we are just around the corner to celebrate every holiday together wub.gif

So my bf is stuck in LA and dunno if he can make it on time and he is trying to find another flight right now and I dunno why I"m getting so panic and nervous and thinking to cancel the interview on 16th.. I really dunno what to do.

Sis calm down, everything will be ok... Ohhh men, I am hating that airlines now for making you worry like this yaaayyyy!
He for sure can find a way out there now... Sis let me know, Ayyyy...

I'm hoping he make it on time, OHHH PLEASEEEEEEEE!!!

I'm upset and depressed and he dun listen to me to buy another airline ticket. I give up. I'm not going to interview.

Sissss! First you have to calm down. Then think that you are on his situation. And talk to him clearly what you want to do.
Sis this is the only last step so you could to be together forever. Just the last last last ONE sis... You are one step away from what you have been dreaming of. Think of all that you have both sacrificed for this... Think of how happy you both will be just to get that interview done.
Sis at this time buying another ticket will cost A LOT, specially when it is urgent, he may not be able to find the most cheapest that's why he decided not to. But tell him to call UA, they should do something about it.

DON'T DECIDE ON ANYTHING WHEN YOU ARE FEELING UPSET...
(I'll check on UA fare rules about transferring to another airlines.)

hugs,
Cloe

Money is not important at this point. I can pay for it but he just dun listen to me and think everything will be fine and he must know we only have few hours left before the interview if his plane can even get on time. I can't stop crying for this stupid $hit just cant believe it happened on me right now and I just dun wanna face it. I'm very panic and I really dun want to go to interview with my emotions like this. I need to send them an email to cancel it.

Glo, if I could say something...you are strong!!! If you were not strong, you wouldn't have been able to endure the impatience and frustration of this whole process! This is just life's last laugh of throwing you a curveball before THE FINAL STEP!!! The interview!!! I know you're feeling awful right now, but just remember-after this, everything begins all over again, except you will be with the one you love! So take a deep breath, and like Jeffcloe says, if you need to vent we are here for ya good.gif

Oops! It sent without me sending the whole message! blink.gif

Beta: That is so exciting! You calling the embassy gave me the idea to e-mail the Sydney embassy and see if there is any progress (we had requested the opening of a provisional file so we could send our information right away so they could give us an interview date.)

RobertJay: Good luck to Oksana on her interview! Can you believe you are so close to starting a new life together? I'm so happy to see us April filers on the fast track!

JeffCloe!: a huge good.gif to you! I can't wait to see your approval e-mail!!!!!

So last Monday, I did it: I bit the bullet and bought a wedding dress. I am praying that December 7 is the day, but until we know an interview date we still have to wait. Here is a little picture of it:
.
It was perfect the minute I saw it on the website, and when I tried it on I knew it was the one for me! Now I just can't wait to walk down the aisle in it!
