US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionInterview items (split topic)

Like the above poster stated, unless requested only the past or more recents years ITR should be sufficient.  Some people, depending on their personal situation(s), choose to send in more than one year.  I only sent in one year, the most recent year's ITR and that was sufficient.  Since, you are concerned with Brazil, you might want to research that country's specific requirement.

Best of luck!

Hello! I have my husband's ITRs and W2s for the last 3 years and an employment letter. Do I have to bring TAX TRANSCRIPTS with me to my embassy interview? We are over the poverty line by the way.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - February 2014

Hello Saylin,

Thanks so much for this. Big help. Just a few questions:

1. You said, if we use 2013 as the latest year for tax then we need to bring 2013 tax information to INTERVIEW. What interview is this? The beneficiary's interview with the embassy?

2. Is it possible for the IV Fee bill to become available for payment at the ceac website before AOS is submitted by the petitioner?

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsRFE for Blank Spaces on AOS?

You might. Our 864 was returned because we didnt put NA in fields that were questionable but didnt apply. Depends on whether what else you left blank. SS# shouldnt stop it because thats kind of a given and most electronic forms wont let you put anything else in that field. What else did he leave blank?

He left the following blank:

1, Alien Registration Number (if any) - because I don't have any

2. Place of Residence (if different from mailing address) - because it's the same

3. Information on prepared, if prepared by a preparer - because he himself prepared it (nobody else)

I think it requires COMMON SENSE for them since these fields have the IF ANY phrase there..

Not sure why you're asking, when all the answers to your questions are in the email you quoted. Not trying to be a jerk, but it's all there in plain English.

Yeah I have the tendency to over-verify.. Just don't want to do the best in every situation.. I was a bit offended haha.. but thanks for replying anyway..

Click on the Case complete to Interview form link in my signature and fill out so you can be added to the spreadsheet.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIs Our Case Complete? What Next?

We received this email from NVC today (April 11, 2014):

We have finished reviewing your case. We will tell you when we set an interview date for your case. Please do not contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in MANILA, PHILIPPINES about your interview until we give you the date.
We saw that either your Affidavit of Support was incomplete, some of your supporting documents were missing, or both. We have marked the missing items on the checklist below.

You should send any of the missing items to xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx so he or she can take them to the visa interview. The Consular Officer will review the missing items at the time of the interview.

Does this mean our CASE is COMPLETE? What are we to do next? When am I going to be interviewed at the US embassy? Thanks!

PhilippinesEffect of Typhoon Haiyan to Immigrant VISA Applications

USCIS expedited immigrant petitions of Haiyan/Yolanda-affected regions in the Philippines (http://manila.usemba...v/wwwh3023.html). What regions are considered "affected" (I am from Bohol and we were affected to some extent)? And how will the  increasing number of expedited cases affect other applicants' timelines?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPay stubs for AOS

My petitioner is way over the poverty line because he has a regular job as a teacher and I am the only beneficiary he is sponsoring. We submitted 1040 for 3 recent tax years, W2s for 3 recent tax years, employment letter and pay stubs (but just for the recent 3 months). Although the pay stubs are OPTIONAL, I read in the guidelines that we should submit paystubs for the recent 6 months. Do you think we're fine with just submitting 3 months of paystubs? Thanks!

Right. But you can use anyone's card to pay the fee.

I had an ELIS account to pay my IV fee, but I used my husband's US credit card to actually pay the transaction. No issues. Very common, in fact, because a lot of immigrants don't have a credit card the the system will accept.

Thank you so much lost_at_sea.. This is what I wanted to hear... :) God bless!
