Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRemoving Conditions and CA drivers license

I had the same issue. My CA license was due to expire when my 2 year green card did. I had not even noticed this when it was issued. I found out when I received a letter from DMV asking for evidence of my continued right to stay in the country.

I did not have a passport stamp. All I had was my extension letter received after filing the I751. I sent a copy of that to them and recieved a new license in the mail which expires on the day the one year extension runs out. So I imagine you will be ok sending the extension letter to get the new license in the same way I was. Things may change by 2011 though!

Hope this helps!

Woooooo Hoooo!!!!

I just called the Department of State and in a strange coincidence I just found out I too now have an interview!!!!!!! I have to say a big thank you to Mark and Sissy for the advice and the telephone number. If anyone else is waiting for an interview date I recommend that you call the number mentioned by Mark and Sissy as you are far more likely to have luck.

I can now look forward to my interview on the 3rd April 2007.

Thanks Again everyone for all of your help!!

David

Hi Mark and Sissy,

Thank you for the telephone number I will try that this evening. I am very grateful for you helpful replies. Thanks again.

David

Yeah, it is a relief. Hopefully you will have your date soon too! The number to call is 202-663-1225 (US dialling code of course). Then press 1, 0, 0 and wait to get through to a person.

Hi Mark and Sissy,

I am pleased to hear that you have a date now. I bet you are relieved.

You make reference to calling the Department of State. That sounds like a great idea as I haven't tried that. I wonder if you could tell the number or where I can find it? Is it the Department of State in the US?

Thank you so much for you helpful responses!!!

David

Hi Rebster -

Congratulations on getting your interview date! Good luck tomorrow!

Can I ask you how long ago your received notification from the embassy of your interview date? I would imagine you must have heard at least a month ago?

I have also written to and phoned the embassy. They weren't able to tell me anything over the phone and I have still not replied to the email I wrote ten days ago. We have just bought a house in the U.S. and I need to give three months notice with my job, so even after I have my interview, it will be months before I am finally settled.

Best wishes for your interview tomorrow, Rebster! If you have a moment, I'd love to hear how it goes!

Thanks all!

David

Hi Mark and Sissy -

Thanks for your comments. I'm glad to see that someone else is agonising over this as much as me! Though now it has actually been 13 weeks for me and I must say my patience is really wearing thin at this point! Fingers crossed that we both hear some good news soon!

I'm in the same boat, but have been waiting a shorter time than you. My case was completed late Nov and sent to the embassy early Dec. I have not heard a thing since. From what I gather, it's a good 8 to 12 weeks to find out about an interview. So based on this you should hear something soon.

p.s. I'm glad it's not just me that seems to be waiting a while. What annoys me is that other people seem to get replies to their emails, and some embassies actually post their interview dates online! London Embassy seems to be quite useless in providing information, at least to you and I.

Hi All,

Firstly I would like to thank you for such an excellent website which has proved to be a huge help in my visa journey.

I am posting as I need some advice. My case was completed and sent to the London Embassy by the NVC in early November 2006. The Embassy received it on 27th November 2006. I have still not received an interview date and calls to the Embassy have proved pointless. I have waited for more that 10 days for an email reply also.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with interview dates coming from London? Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.
