US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	US Embassy in Kishinev, Moldova	My fiancée and I are hoping that sooner than later we'll have her interview scheduled in Kishinev. Does anyone have any recent experience with them that they can share? I know they have only been processing their own visa applications since November. Some cases take longer than others and with the volume in which they deal it just makes sense that there are a large sample of NOA1 dated petitions that are being processed at once. Are you suggesting they should wait until every last petition filed in December has a yes or no before they move onto January? The system is flawed, but they have to work with that they have. The most effect way of handling such a high volume of petitions is to work on large chunks at a time. Some are simple and fly through, others need further checks, others are missing information. Nothing is black or white here, it's all a grey area. Is that fair? Probably not, but again...they have to work within the system that is in front of them. However, with the volume of petitions, the number of workers, waiting for RFE returns, it seems like at any given time there is a 60-90 days window in which they are working. The CSC received over 2200 K1 petitions in April and I see less than 60 April filers on Igor's list. They average around 3000 completed petitions a month, but still..the volume is high. Meaning, people are getting approved but they just don't know it yet. Supposedly if you call and ask to speak with a Tier 2 agent they will tell you your status. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Employment question for the K1 petition	Hello everyone! I am new here, just starting my journey in the K1 process. My fiancée is from Moldova. I am using a service to help guide us through all the mountains of paperwork and there is one thing that I am still unsure of. My fiancee has only had one job in the last 5 years thanks to school. That job only lasted a few months. Communication between us is sometimes hard between our schedules and the time change, so getting these last few details has taken a few days longer that we would have liked. The service I am using says to just forget about it and put unemployed for the last 5 years. I want to send these documents to her as soon as I can so we can file, but I don't want to do anything that will cause a problem later down the road. How important is one part time job that only lasted a few months? Any ideas?? Also, I know everyone probably asks this...but it seems like there is no reason at all to the wait times for approval notice. I have seen people on here that only waited 5 or 6 weeks and then I see other who waited 6 or 8 months. Is there anything we can do before filing to speed the process up? We are already making sure we send everything they could possibly need, so hopefully we don't get anything send back to us asking for more information. Both parties need to fill one out, sign and it goes with the rest of the documents. It could be any number of things..maybe you forgot to sign something, missed a line on the petition somewhere...it's possible it is something with a very easy fix. While the system is "first come, first served" so to say, they have so many people working on so many different petitions it is nearly impossible to go date by date and not move on to other dates at the same time. I'm at CSC and they seem to be focusing on Jan-March right now. And you can tell that people everyday are getting NOA2 from all three of those months. In another two weeks or so they should be moving into April petitions (like me!). VSC is the same way, they are just a little further behind. When you create an account with the USCIS it will show you when your case was last "updated" which is called a "touch" around here. Usually it means nothing more than your file was moved from one place to another. Some people get many touches before their approval, some get none. It's really a none factor. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures	Filed I-129F in March 1, 2011 Waiting for NOA2	Don't wait for the website..Call USCIS and ask to talk to Tier 2 agent directly...They'll give you the latest status of your application. My NOA1 was Feb 14th and website/phone still shows Initial Review but when I spoke to the Tier 2 agent yesterday, he informed that the petition was approved. I asked him why the website doesn't show and he mentioned that website/phone system isn't working well. This makes a lot of sense actually. It sure seems like the approvals slowed down a lot last week. If there system isn't working correctly then the only sure way to know if you got your NOA2 is by mail, which of course takes the longest. Hopefully their system gets back on track soon. It is possible but you must be open and honest that you are going through the K1 process. The most important thing is that he must show strong ties to his country or they will deny him entry. Family ties, job, rent or morgage...there needs to be enough proof that he will logically return to his country and not stay in the US once he enters with the Tourist Visa. Each Embassy is different and if they don't need translations then they don't need them. Nothing will need to be translated for the POE either. The Embassy is Moldova is the same way. We were told they will accept any documents in English, Russian or Romanian. Translations will be needed for the Greencard process, but as you said that can be done in America. None of the HR people are allowed to write or sign anything, everything must be taken from this site. Kinda weird, but it's quick, easy and I can access it from anywhere which is really nice. And the only reason I mention the Transnistria issue is because most of my family and friends had no idea what it was about before I meet her. What makes it all the more complicated is that she is from the Transnistria region in Moldova, so every and all of her documents is in Cyrillic, the one and only "Moldovan" document she has is her passport, which she just got this week. However, isn't the bulk of the processing a background check, and so they'll do a background check on her with a spelling of her first and last name that she's never used? The guys over at Rapid Visa suggested to use whatever translation spelling she uses regardless of what her passport says. It makes sense to me, but I would hate to have such a simple thing to fix be a problem down the road. She spells her name Alyona Gotko and on her passport its spelled Aliona Gotco. She's Russian so on her birth records everything is Cyrillic. When using the Roman alphabet she always uses a direct translation of her name, Alyona. She lives in Moldova and just got her passport which is in Romanian. They spelled her name Aliona. They also chnged the spelling of her last name, also by one letter.
