K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWedding in Belgium then moving to US
Hey everyone,

My fiancée is coming to belgium in 2 weeks to go to the US embassy in Belgium to go get her certificates so we can go to city hall in Bruges to plan our wedding.
She will bring her birthcertificate but i've been told that we can get the rest of the papers at the US embassy, then we have to go to the ministry of foreign affairs to have the certificates legalized. I'll also have her signature legalised so she doesnt have to come back here to set a date for the wedding... My question is, do i have to have her birthcertificate translated to dutch before we go to city hall? thing is that she can only come from thursday till sunday everytime because of her job...

Could any of you plz tell me what to keep mind so i dont have to have her fly over to belgium twenty times...

I would also like to have some more info on the matter that i'm moving to america after the wedding, what is the best option?

Thx so much for replying

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresAmerican girl & Belgian guy...
Hey Katrien,

I'm sorry that i didnt reply sooner on your previous answer. Its been some busy days lately...

So... As i said, i'm Belgian, i have my own business here and no kids, never been married either, so free to do as i want. (well.... thas what i thought) Evalyn works in court and has two kids from a previous marriage that has been over since october last year but the divorce has only been final since a month or so... yup, i know, thats fast, but hey i didnt make her as perfect as she is...
She really cannot come here for a couple of months, not only because of her job, also because of the kids...

We had heard that her coming to belgium and getting married here was the best and fastest option, now i'm not so sure anymore... i have learned from what i last read that we're not gonna be together for a while which sucks bad...

she'll be here in two weeks... what do we dooooooo???? wacko.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresPoverty Guidelines
I have been looking at the poverty guideline page (under the section 125% poverty line since I am the sponsor and not in the armed forces) and cannot figure out if when it says on there SPONSORS HOUSEHOLD SIZE if that means minus my husband (who I am sponsoring but who is not in our household yet)? I have 2 toddlers and myself in the home now. Do I add him when looking at this page or only count who is in my home now. Also, is this gross income? If anyone could help me figure this out I'd really appreciate it..Thanks

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Proceduresquestion about sponsor income
Hey guys, question... can you add child support to income?
And also, Evalyn is the american with two kids, her ex claims one child on taxes and she does the other, does that mean that her household size would be only one since she's the primary caretaker?

Thx so much for helping!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen does marriage become US approved
Thanks for the info, what about the namechange though, how does my wife, who resides in Tennessee go about that? when does she change her name since we're starting the papers with her maiden name, do we or can we wait till all immigration papers are done?

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhen does marriage become US approved
Hey guys... we got married in bruges (belgium), havent reported anything in the US so far, but we're doing some of the first paperwork as we speak. Does Evalyn first have to file papers confirming our marriage in her town cityhall in tennessee or does all that happen with filing at USCIS? or maybe we have to get married here?

We're about to file form I-130 and G-325, do we already have to prove something as far as an ongoing marriage?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSHOCKED!!!
I know, that's a HUGE bummer, but that's the way it is now, and we cant change anything about it... hope it goes fast, that's all...
But, another question, everytime you get a visa waiver you can stay for 90 days right, every single time?? you can keep on doing that?

My opinion would be to go down the K1 route fiance visa, and file as soon as possible, you are looking at around a 7 month time frame if there are no problems and everything goes through smoothly

Good luck

Hey thx, i assumed K1 would be the best way, i did look at the guides and it looked the best option, so she has to file that right? one more problem, she was married but has been seperated for a while now, not devorced yet, what about that, does she have to wait a while before she can file the K1? wacko.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSHOCKED!!!
Hey everyone,

I met my girlfriend online, lol like most others on here i guess... and yeah, we've been talking about how i'm gonna get there to stay. Same again, naïve as hell, thinking i can just go there, get married and stay... NOT!!! blush.gif

Since she has two girls, i'm wanting to move to the US to live with her, but i can't figure out what the best and fastest option is.
I'm from belgium, she's from TN, we met online in september 08, visited her in october, november and will see her this christmas, wahoo!!!!! omg, i cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!! kicking.gif

Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Thx in advance,

Cedric
