US Citizenship General DiscussionBase on 3 years marriage to a USC

Question about being out of the US. Probably 4 times a year we travel to see my family in Canada. These trips last no longer then 4 days. When they look at how long you've been in the US do they look at the continuous amount of months spent in the US or do they look for total time in the US. On one hand I think we're fine on the other I'm not sure especially if it's 'continuous' months spent.

No problem with your case. There is no such thing as "continuous" months spent inside the US as long as you have been inside the US the minimum required time.

US Citizenship General DiscussionAnybody experience with getting passport same day?
A couple of years back my cousin needed a passport for the same day and he got an appointment in the morning in Miami; definitely recommend in the morning, because it could take a while(3-5 hours). If you can go back the next day then it wont be a problem going in the afternoon.

US Citizenship General DiscussionPut in Oath Ceremony Que

I realize it is up to the local office, but what I'm wondering is if they will update the website again once the date has been determined. Example: " Your Oath Cermony has been schedule for xxxxx xx, 2013"

sometimes it'll update to something like this:

"On March 4, 2013, we scheduled you for your oath ceremony and sent a notice providing the date, time, and location. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283."

US Citizenship General DiscussionN400 with signature confirmation?

it was signed by name C Thornquist :) do you know how long will it take for them to give me a notification? about next step?

When I sent my package I also put 75266, but this is what I got "Your item was delivered at 5:55 am on January 03, 2013 in DALLAS, TX 75260."
You will probably get the 1 NOA in 15 days or less.

US Citizenship General DiscussionN400 with signature confirmation?
This is normal for the USCIS, they actually pick up everything they get together for the same day. When I sent my package I got the same message and day later it got normally delivered. I wouldn't worry much about this, just check again tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.

US Citizenship General DiscussionHow to travel with dual Citizenship ?
you are supposed to use the US Passport everywhere. In some cases your birth country (depending on the country) will ask you for your birth country passport, in your case it is Germany. Use the American Passport everywhere.

Lisa/Ian,

were you asked about your 2012 tax return? since the deadline isn't here yet (april 15th), did you even worry about it?

I was asked for the previous 3 years of tax return for proof of an ongoing relationship with my wife, the IO was surprised that I also gave him the transcript for 2012, but he wasn't expecting it.

I'm so relaxed, it has been 59 days from the day I sent the app until today. I have to let everyone know that I applied under the 3 years rule and I sent all documents needed except for the tax transcripts.

Congrats Hopin. Tomorrow is my interview and I have to say that I'm so anxious. Usually when I have any kind of test or important interview I can't never sleep the night before, I'm going to have to drink some tea tonight.

US Citizenship General DiscussionI need an answer about IRS Tax Transcript of 2012 !

Since the deadline for filing 2012 is still over one month away, no need to submit 2012 taxes. Plus the 2012 transcripts are not available

Also want to let people know that 2012 transcripts are available as long as your taxes got accepted already, so if you did your taxes in early February or before that then you can get your 2012 transcript already.

2011 will be ok as the most recent year. People is not obligated to do their taxes early in the year as long as they do it before April 15th.
